This charming home is located in a quaint neighborhood perfect for walking into town and along the river walk. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The owner is very responsive. We had a lovely stay.
We enjoyed our stay at Andreaâs charming house! It is filled with so much character and is in the perfect location. We could walk to the little town of Hillsborough and there was a wonderful walking trail nearby. We had a wonderful weekend stay. I would note that there are outdoor cats that gather on the porch. They left us alone, but wanted to note.
This is a beautiful, cozy cottage with thoughtfull amenities. Andrea, the owner, is delightful to work with, and the location is in a friendly neighborhood.
We loved our stay at Luna Rose. The owners home, the space felt like staying at a friends while they were gone. There was a comfortable living room with beautiful views of a country garden in bloom, and outdoor seating to enjoy fresh spring weather. Three bedrooms had comfortable beds, attractive decor and bedding. The two bathrooms were newer construction and immaculate. Kitchen and dining room and long hallway leading to the front porch completed the property, so there was lots of space. Our elderly family stayed in the bedroom with the attached bath, our teen staying in her own room, and we took the back bedroom with steps down into our bathroom, The house has historic charm, some of the floors creak so no sneaking around! The home is filled with art and books and has everything needed to fix a snack or a meal for the family. The added bonus for us was the two very friendly cats who live outside and were happy to greet us and sit in laps purring! Near a park, just down down the road from Historic Hillsborough with great shops and restaurants and the river walk. Loved it!
Stayed at this lovely home for my daughterâs wedding weekend with family friends. Andrea was a very accommodating, excellent hostessâŠ.very good communicator, warm and welcoming!
I highly recommend this lovely home to anyone.
Charming historical home within walking distance of downtown Hillsborough! Very personable and comfortable. Only issues were initially understanding the heating system and not being able to figure out how to operate the tub jets, which was no big deal.
The owner greeted us (6 ladies) upon check in and reviewed property, immediately entering property was a cat urine smell in the sunroom/living room which we could not use the whole visit, host did refund 100. Owner had personal items in approximately 1/2 of refrigerator which was an inconvenience, luckily we had coolers in which we brought. Owner has 2 cute cats that were outside and would try and enter property, she came over to feed them everyday. We sat around in the evening and played games and was surprised by a visit of a mouse which made several appearances. She had ziplock bags for us but when opening the door there was a piece of mouse poop. The neighbor was very strict regarding shared driveway but host did convey that upon check in. The house was beautiful and within walking distance to lovely town and river walk we we enjoyed immensely.
Enjoyed the mill house and location. Cats on property which were not listed. That could be a plus or a minus. Overall a great place to enjoy Hillsborough. We would stay there again.
I am an artist and educator originally from Colorado and have been here in Hillsborough since 1994. I raised my three children and many loved pets in this incredible town! I love gardening, hiking, and traveling!
We love our little haven in the heart of Historic Hillsborough. There are walking paths along the Eno River, shops, restaurants, live music, comedy, and lots of history out the back door. It has been like living in the country in town these past many years. Hundreds of years trees are around and flowers and beauty in all seasons! A perfect get-away awaits here at Lunarose Cottage.
The property is filled with history with beaded board, old-growth heart pine flooring throughout, and fine fabrics and furnishings combine for cozy elegance all year round. You can pamper yourself with a soak in the deep tub, or watch the world go by with your feet up on the front porch. This very special place is surrounded by gardens and a short walk to downtown or West Hillsborough.
