The Historic Magnolia is a 125 yr old farmhouse that is named so because of the Magnolia wood used for flooring when built that has been in the family for close to 100 years. . With Miles of Rural Roads for biking, the Magnolia House also has a large yard covered in Large Live Oaks perfect for shade to escape the summer heat, R&R, and a huge firepit.. Plan a girls retreat, family quite time. Horseback Trail Rides are available at an extra charge.
We stayed at this property to be close to Jelly Stone without having to stay on camp grounds. It was spacious for us (married couple and 1 child). It was about a 15 minute drive from Jelly Stone, and the property is nice.
Adorable house with gorgeous backyard!! This property had so much to offer with the different bedrooms to even the enclosed porch area. The day bed was a delight! We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to any large groups of friends or family who need a retreat away from the city life.
Wow, we will definitely be staying at this place again. Very cozy, roomy, inviting, homey and family friendly. The hosts are super. They made sure we were very well taken care of and checked on us throughout the weekend.
This farm house was perfect for our family of 5! Nice kitchen. We loved being way out in the country, it was so peaceful and quiet. This house was also close to our family we were visiting. We were here for only 4 days but really got to experience Texas!
Our stay at The Magnolia or the Farmhouse we call it was just what the doctor ordered! It was nice and quiet - a great place to decompress! Kirby was very communicative and answered any question within a few minutes! You will enjoy this real from the city!
This is a beautiful and comfortable home! The check in and out was very simple. The owner was very responsive when messaging. The house is gorgeous! Very clean and comfortable, with everything you need for your stay! A little ways out from everything, but we like that. A nice and quiet farm area. If weâre ever back in the area we will most definitely book again!
Loved the charm and character of this farmhouse! The kids loved the swinging bed in the enclosed porch and the sunrises/sunsets over the surrounding farmland were beautiful. The house also had a fun assortment of games and books which keep the kiddos entertained! The kitchen was well-stocked and the appliances all worked without any issues. There were a few dirty towels in the washer when we arrived, and the dishwasher was not emptied (but the dishes inside were clean). The door to the porch does not go completely down to the ground, which allowed a few small gecko lizards to come inside both the porch and house - they startled us a few times but I'd much rather see them than snakes! The housekeeping team could also do a better job dusting away cobwebs and dead insects from the corners and baseboards. Overall though it was a lovely farmhouse and we enjoyed some wonderful family time together here!
We had a wonderful time. My granddaughters loved the bed that hangs from the ceiling and the tree house under the big oak tree.
My husband said the fire pit is one of the best he has ever seen. We enjoyed roasting marshmallows in it. The house was big and everyone had plenty of room.
The girls had a lot of room to play outside and spent most of time outdoors. They found a pond enjoyed catching the minnows.
The only bad part was the mosquitos. Make sure to bring plenty of repellent.
Beautiful old farmhouse with everything we needed for our stay. Plenty of room for a larger group. We didnât get to enjoy the large yard and fire pit due to bad weather. We wish some of the windows on the enclosed porch opened with screens so we could have enjoyed the cool rainy weather, but in Texas having the ability to air condition the area makes more sense. I regret not communicating our late check in time with Kirby so he could have left a light on for us. It was âcountry darkâ so thankfully we had a flashlight to find the door. Would love to come back with the rest of our family to fully enjoy this property.
Let me first say Kirby was very quick to respond when I messaged him twice, first about trash and second about tv. I am hoping the owner will see these comments..Issues.. windows are very dirty, cobwebs and spiderwebs throughout the house, outdoor chairs are there but we had to clean them to use them, overgrown trees and the BBQ pits were not usable. We loved the character of the old house. Whoever is suppose to be responsible for the upkeep is not doing a good job.. I would rate that part all poor. I think the owner should know the truth so he can remedy the issues.
I wanted to get out of the city for a few days at a rural sanctuary. This lovely home provided that for me! Beautiful farmhouse, wonderful property and responsive hosts. Access was seamless. The house is nestled amongst some trees and surrounded by some cow pastures. Tons of privacy and quiet. I spent most of my time reading or napping on the âfloating bedâ in the air-conditioned sunroom which afforded a view of the beautiful outdoors without enduring the summer heat! When it cooled off a bit, I strolled down to the little pond and watched the turtles in there a bit. I will bookmark this property for a longer term fall stay with friends! Loved this place so much!
