Indulge in the perfect Northwoods retreat at Legends at Leader. This spacious 2 floor cabin features one level for entertaining and another for all sleeping rooms. Enjoy the top floor entertainment space as you overlook the clear water of Leader Lake. The upper floor includes a large kitchen with countertop seating that flows into the dinning rooms and connects to the large living room with wet bar. Full bathroom for convenience. This level was made for entertaining and has enough room inside and outside for all your guests. Want to be outside? Step out one of two sliding glass doors located in the dinning room and living room to the 50ft deck and enjoy the peace and beauty of the Northland. When it's time to sleep step away from the noise and rest in the cool lower level of the cabin that features 3 bedrooms. Two rooms with queen beds and a large master bedroom featuring a king bed set. Full bathroom is centrally located. Need extra space? Check out the private bunk house with a queen size bed and just steps away from the main cabin. Added features include steaming hot sauna, sun deck, beach front, dock, canoes, 2 outdoor firepits, tree swing, and a pontoon! This cabin is guaranteed to deliver the perfect get away for a family vacation, friends weekend, or a peaceful week for some rest and recovery. Not to mention it is located on the beautiful sand bottom Leader Lake. This is a place you will never want to leave.

Wonderful place. Only issue was hot water in upstairs shower. Pontoon and canoe were great. Thanks for the floats so we could also just float in the lake as well. We were in and on the water daily.

Duo family vacation

Our first duo family get away, first time using Vrbo for this type of getaway. We had a great time kids and adults alikeOnly suggestion maybe a notebook with sauna instructions, and type of gas to be used in the pontoon, and lake restrictions. A fan for each bedroom. We figured these things out with Y-tube or Google, instructions would have made us feel more secure with our use of them.We had and excellent time and would recommend this cabin to others.

Great family vacation spot

What a wonderful place to spend as a family. We had 3 generations together, plenty of space for all of us! We enjoyed swimming, great fishing, and cruising in the pontoon. We especially enjoyed our time on the large deck and what an awesome view! Definitely a spot we hope to come back to! a spot we hope to come back to!

We had a great stay! The kitchen was great for cooking for big family. Big Beautiful deck! Cleanliness in cabin was great and Kali was great about being in touch and getting back to any questions asap. We would love to rent again :)

Leader Lake

Lots of room. Lake is sandy and clear water. Very nice for swimming and paddle boarding,canoe, kayak annd a relaxing pontoon ride. Fishing is a plus. Very quiet area. Also close to Duluth-Superior area for day trips.

Family vacation

Location was exactly what we needed. Extremely quiet lake to just relax with close family. The pontoon and the canoe were a huge bonus and used for fishing and leisure everyday. We would definitely return here for a future getaway. Great communication with the owners as well.

Great Lake cabin to stay with family, fish, and hang out on pontoon

This was a wonderful space for our family to spend time together. Great communication, and very helpful and accommodating. Use of the pontoon that fit all of us was a huge perk, and the canoe was really nice to use too. House was clean, very spacious, and comfortable. The deck overlooking the lake was great, and we loved being able to swim right off the shore.

Family Fun!

We LOVED, LOVED our stay at your beautiful home! From the gorgeous, spacious deck, to the family friendly kitchen, dining room and living room, to the sauna, fire pits, swimming area, and pontoon. We used it all and hated to leave. The grandkids keep reminding us to book again right away for next summer! Thank you for providing the perfect setting for our multi-age group!

Family time!

We enjoyed our stay this beautiful property with our family. We enjoyed being able to take the pontoon out whenever we wanted. It was a cooler week, which helped with no AC in the basement. Overall it was a wonderful week! We loved the large deck and used it often! .

Family oriented

There was more room than expected and almost everything we needed. Nice private lake. To note, there is no access if you are bringing jet skis or a boat. We had a great family get together and had a fun time. They had more than enough beach towels and everything we needed in kitchen. Sandy beach and fishing off dock. We played bags on the spacious deck. Lots of room out there.

Family Fun

We loved the property! The upper level was amazing for dining and hanging out. We spent lots of time on the beautiful deck and we used the awning. The pontoon was a huge hit and we fished and swam off the dock. We only used one of the fire pits, but really enjoyed it. The bunk house was used by two of us and was a lovely addition. The basement bedrooms were beautiful and all the beds were great! The hosts were very communicative and helpful. I will be booking this property again!

The ammenities that are listed arent available. The 2nd shower didnt work and the pontoon doesn't run either When i contacted the owner he was in Texas and relying on ?? There was also a note found in 1 of the beds That read " If you find this note the sheets have not been washed and all beds were used " I wont stay here again or rent from them again Still trying to resolve with the owner !! "

LEGENDARY TRIP

Its hard to pick the best part of the trip. Everyone in our group had there own favorite part. My Wife loved the Cabin and the views from every room and kitchen she loved all the options she had to cook and prepare thins with and how organized and clean everything was. My Kids both caught their biggest bass of their lives off the dock easily over 5lbs maybe 6. The dogs never left the lake, they actually got cleaner playing in it with no weeds and sand bottom. The Sauna was my favorite got it up to 140 degrees every morning and rotated from lake to sauna, lake to sauna. My father loved the birds, Kali our host left some peanuts with a note on things to do one was to feed the wild birds! My kids and dad fed the birds out of their hands on the deck, super cool. Thank you for an amazing trip we are booked for next spring and will continue to come back every year!

Review

Overall was good. The place was very clean and peaceful. The water was the biggest issue as no pressure after someone takes a shower. 2nd issue was at the end of our stay 4 hours before check out we get a text that all the garbage needs to be taken with you. For a large family gathering with lots of trash being notified at the end was a little much to bear. What if no one had a truck not to mention if they did, it was already full. Then have to drive 20 miles to find this trash drop off place with no direction on how to get there. Other than that it was good. Probably would not come back.

Peaceful and tranquilty at its finest

Our time at the Legends at Leader was an absolute delight, albeit too brief for our liking. Our family chose this cabin as our base during a wedding event in Duluth, turning a weekend stay into an unforgettable retreat. Though it was a short visit, we quickly saw how splendid it would be to indulge in the tranquillity and comfort here for a week or even two. The cabin was immaculately clean and spacious, striking the perfect balance between offering communal gathering spaces and private corners for some downtime. Everyone could find their own nook or join the group as they wished. The property's amenities were easily accessible, adding a rich variety to our stay. The two fire pits, the bunkhouse, and the recreational options of a canoe and a pontoon were our personal favorites. We particularly relished the sunset cruise on the pontoon and canoe, a serene experience that allowed us to bond and appreciate the area's natural beauty. Kali, our host, deserves a special mention for her prompt and informative communication. Her attentive service significantly enhanced our overall experience. One of our most memorable moments was gatherin around the fire, playing games and sharing laughter. And when a sudden rainstorm threatened our grilling plans, the deck's awning provided the perfect shelter, ensuring our barbecue continued uninterrupted. Nestled just 10 minutes away is Minong, home to Jack's Links and equipped with a gas station and grocery store. I

Disappointing Upkeep

The property, sauna, and boat function as a decent place to stay, but the upkeep seems to be getting away from the property. Examples: - When we got there there were no vacuum marks on the longer pile- Dirty dishes were in the washer- Stove had to be on 550 to cook a pizza- Handles missing on several kitchen drawers- Fridge breaker tripped on two separate occasions overnight- Upstairs bath shower handle broken- Duct tape on the living room furniture- Grass long enough to go to seed- Boat missing cup holders (these are like 5 on ebay)- Hair in the bathroom drawers- Mold in downstairs shower grout- Dead worms in closet inside tackle box smelled like death- Washer listed in amenities and in "amenities use" listing was told not to use- 1/4 tank of gas in boat, no extra in spare tanksThey called a handyman and they did fix a few things and got rid of the smell, but the property was absolutely not read for the price we paid.Got weirder as I asked for a price adjustment and was charged 1500 for a septic failure when the property was fine when we left. I raised questions with VRBO and some outside sources and eventually i was told this was applied to us in error, and it will be refunded. This news came to me first from the Douglas county sheriff who I had been in contact with.I received no apology for the situation, only the refund of the error charge.I will not be staying at any of their properties in the future due to this experience.

Zachary's review was disappointing and quite surprising, as it doesn’t reflect the experience we strive to offer or the condition our home is typically kept in. We’ve hosted many wonderful guests, and this was, unfortunately, a rare instance where expectations and communication simply did not align. To address a few specific concerns: The downstairs closet issue (which included a report of worms) is completely unfamiliar to both us and our cleaning team, who were shocked by this claim. The boat key was left on, which drained the battery — a responsibility that typically falls to the guest using it. The dishes in the dishwasher were clean but had not yet been put away — a minor oversight, and we understand how that may have been perceived. The oven heating to 550°F is not something we've encountered before, but we’ll absolutely look into it. The kitchen cabinet handles have been problematic, and parts are already on order to replace them. We've hosted large gatherings, including family reunions, without electrical issues. We're not sure what caused the breakers to trip during your stay, but the fridge has not been problematic in the past. Regarding a small piece of furniture damage, we had temporarily patched it with tape while awaiting a proper repair — certainly not ideal, and we now realize this stood out more than expected. As for the mention of mold in the shower, we want to be clear: there is no mold. We take cleanliness and guest health very seriously.
