We booked this stay for Thursday-Sunday for myself, my husband, and our son. Upon arrival-the cabin was very nice. We did have trouble getting into the gate, I finally was able to connect to WiFi and find the gate code buried in a message. My own mistake for not reading more carefully before we got there. The listing shows pictures of the basement area, however this section was locked for us. Not a huge deal, but something that is a bit misleading in the photos. We noticed when we got there that some of the windows were missing screens. We only noticed because the screens were stacked against the wall of the screened in porch-but we didnât think much of it. Friday night the temps dropped and thatâs when we discovered an issue with this. Every window that was missing a screen had stink bugs working their way in. We spent the rest of our time in the cabin trying to get rid of them. I messaged the property owner Friday night (after 10, so I didnât expect a response that same night). I never heard back from her. We checked out Sunday morning and never got anything either in response or regarding check out procedures. Things happen that are outside of the ownerâs control sometimes and I would typically be forgiving on something like this-but when you donât respond at all, that changes things. It was a peak weekend and most things were booked up or had a highly inflated price-so we toughed it out. But had we had another option, we would have stayed elsewhere Saturday night.
