Centrally located in a quiet residential neighborhood. Hosts were nice enough to meet us in person. All the amenities you could need overall , an excellent experience. Highly recommended
The location is perfect if you have a social dog. The parks nearby are great. The location is also wonderful for walking to so many places. The property is very comfortable with so many nice touches and the streaming options are wonderful for night time viewing. The hosts are so personable and gave a lot of suggestions for hikes, shopping, etc. We will definitely stay here again!
Steve and Lynn went out of their way to make our weekend memorable. From tips and tricks on where to go and how to get there to personalized check in preparations, snacks and a handwritten note, they pulled out all the stops for us. The place itself was spotless and looked even better than in the photos and the balcony was perfect for chill breakfasts. It was a great location to walk from and if you have a dog, thereâs a nice off-leash dog park right down the street. We will definitely stay there again next time we are in Bend!
Bathroom, balcony, better than photos
Lynn and Steve were there when we arrived and quickly set us up with fingerprint access to the apartment which made our stay easier. The apartment seemed bigger in person than in the listing photos and was an excellent living space for two adults and a cat. There were plenty of windows for us to enjoy the sunrises or watch the snow fall. Everything necessary was provided, including kitchen appliances, linens, detergents, etc. Everything in the neighborhood was within a 10 minute drive/bike ride. Bend is very bikeable, but this apartment is up a pretty steep hill, so unless you like riding hills or are willing to walk your bike up the hill, an ebike is helpful. There are plenty of local coffee shops, restaurants, and a market nearby. The neighbors are all nice and welcoming and Steve and Lynn were lovely hosts, making us feel very at home during our stay.
Steve and Lynn, the owners, now live in Bend and are both retired educators. We enjoy traveling and creating a positive travel experience for others. We occupy the home next to the 2nd story Guest house. We are hikers, backpackers, road and forest bikers, kayakers, and snow sport enthusiasts. We enjoy the food, music and mountain town life. We like to help others discover all of the delights found in our local areas.
Our neighborhood grew up during the early development of Bend. It is established on the lower south facing side of Awbrey Butte one block to the trails of the large Hillside Park. The east and west sides of town are easily accessed by foot or bike yet it is just distant enough to be very calm and quiet. We have many friendly neighbors.
The old growth trees, mule deer, hawks, other birds and mammals make this an interesting place to live. The canopy and territorial views from both balconies are a calming backdrop to the comfortable accommodations. Nature and vibrancy of the town of Bend blend together in our neighborhood. The Guest house is energy efficient designed with large windows, long views yet it is still cozy.
