The views were definitely as described -- gorgeous, beautiful sunsets. However, be warned that the road and driveway up to these stunning views is quite windy and steep. Upon arrival, we changed our plans for going out at night and cooked all of the nights. That slight alteration did not affect our stay--actually enhanced our use of the property. Definitely enjoyed the Carmel Valley area and will be returning again soon. Thanks for sharing your space with our family!

The Hilltop Villa was wonderful! It checked all the boxes, was fully equipped and it truly has a million dollar view. Would stay there again if I ever make it back to the Carmel Valley!

Very nice stay. It was everything that we hoped for. The driveway can be a little intimidating to some drives. It's really tight but once you are up there, it's great. I have saved this in my list of stays while in the Carmel area.

This house offers incredible views of the valley with a good size peek out to the ocean! Each evening we relaxed in the spotless home, the Smart TV was simple to use, soaked in the hot tub with the views, and took in the stunning scenery. We saw shooting stars and even a little lightning across the valley! Overall, we had a wonderful stay.Our big dog enjoyed his stay as well!One thing to note: the driveway is long, winding, narrow, and unlit, so plan ahead if you’ll be returning after dark. We always made sure to get back before sunset—though with views like these, that was hardly a sacrifice!A friendly reminder: being hillside in the valley means sharing the space with local wildlife (we spotted tons of doves, deer, and even a snake). It only added to the experience, and we truly enjoyed ourselves!Highly recommend.

Property is exactly as shown in pictures, updated and decorated with great taste. Absolutely loved the jacuzzi and views of the valley during sunset! Driveway is steep but so worth getting to the top!

Very private and secluded but easy to head downhill for wine tasting. Gorgeous view in all directions. Mamma and baby deer live in the area and visited morning and evening. Accommodations are perfect. Comfortable bedding. Hot tub was so nice.

Awesome Property!

We would have liked to stay forever! This home is the best location and nicest property we’ve stayed at in many years. It is exactly as advertised. The pics don’t do it justice since the views in person are fabulous. Owners communication is prompt and informative and check in is a breeze. We have stayed in Carmel Valley before but this location is tops! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Second honeymoon

This is a lovely private remote getaway with incredible views of the valley! My husband and I loved staying here. The beds are very comfortable, the showers are clean and have great water pressure, the kitchen was well-appointed and stocked with everything you might need to make a full meal. The hot tub was clean and already heated when we arrived. The driveway is indeed steep and winding -- I didn't have the courage to drive it myself, and I can't imagine attempting to do it while towing anything. Overall, the check-in and check-out process was completely seamless and I would recommend this place to friends and family.

Amazing views.

The house and deck are the best with a well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and very clean. Everything works well including air and heat, hot tub, nice showers, and all kitchen appliances. The views overlooking the Valley all the way to the ocean are extraordinary. I would suggest guests arrive before dark as the street going to the residence has lots of turns and the driveway is very steep with a hairpin turn. Our host was responsive and a pleasure to work with.

Perfection

Our stay here was simply perfect. The location of the home couldn’t possibly be better: high atop the mountainside with stunning views in all directions and a short drive to Carmel Valley Village. It also made getting to Big Sur and Monterey a breeze. The house itself was impeccably clean, with everything you could possibly need for your stay supplied. The beds were also super comfortable. Daniel was responsive and helpful and we are already planning to return!

Couples anniversary getaway

Very private which is nice, drive very careful on the road to the property.Overall, the house was as described. Noticed that all the exterior doors must have been tampered with as they still have damage but have been repaired but do not provide a really secured shut. Slight ant problem in both bedrooms (I had to clean empty my luggage bag and clean it out during our stay). Hot Tub would not reach temperature so we were not able to enjoy as much as we would like.Property is clean and peaceful so even with the small issues listed above we enjoyed our stay!Beds are very comfortable & the kitchen is equipped with good pots/pans, knife set and drinking glasses. Thanks!

Quiet with Spectacular Views

This is great location and not at all far from Carmel-by-the-sea. The shops, wine tasting, and restaurants were enjoyable. The view from the VRBO is impressive!!! The winding valley drives up the mountain was scenic. Affordable valley golf courses and wineries are also close by. The house was clean and the hot tub was great overlooking the valley. Morning coffee and evening wine on the deck was enjoyable during our stay in March. The location is so quiet and isolated other than the morning farm animals and other wildlife during the day and evening. It was great! We highly recommend this location!Minor things to note: Coffee is furnished for a Keurig. (We utilized the Keurig but purchased other coffee).We arrived late, and the drive up to the house was a little unnerving in the dark for the first time. The road is narrow, there aren’t any lights other than the car headlights, and the incline was steep and winding. So, use caution.

During our recent stay, we were greeted with a truly exceptional and leisurely drive through the breathtaking natural surroundings. The villa itself was impeccably maintained, spotlessly clean, and adorned with elegant decor. The balcony offered a truly awe-inspiring panoramic view that was absolutely breathtaking. It was the perfect spot for stargazing, especially with the excellent weather and clear night skies we were fortunate to have. Sipping on a glass of wine while taking in the stars was an unforgettable experience. The outdoor jacuzzi was a wonderful addition, and the property’s peaceful and private atmosphere made for a truly relaxing stay. What a view!

This place is clean, well stocked and with a truely stunning view. Our family kept remarking on how we felt like we were in a mansion not a rental. The home was newly renovated with high end furnishings. Made us feel like millionaires for a day. Beds were crazy comfy. All of this paled in comparison to the view. Just, beyond explaining. Watching the evening fall roll in and the morning sun lifting the fog. Enjoying the succulent heavy landscape. Looking down on mansions. We spent the whole time there outside enjoying.

Way Way to expensive!

House needs work...thresholds rotting and french doors don't close properly. Bathroom windows corrosion and don't open. no supplies in kitchen...nothing to store in (not a single container with lid, 3 folding sandwich bags and enough saran wrap to cover half a small bowl!! Imagine having to go the grocery store to buy supplies for a house you rented for $1000/night! REALLY!!!! My nightstand needed cleaning. Rest of house clean. HOt tub and back deck very nice. Odd...no welcome letter or binder on what host would like us to do (eg leave the trash in or take it out...there are wild critters there so we opted to leave inside), No host contact info to reach him during our visit. 3 power outages in the 2 nights/1 day we were there. No flashlights - advise bringing one with you as the house is very isolated and dark when power is out. VRBO will not allow me to post what we paid... it was very expensive!! While to view was beautiful, it was the only redeeming factor and not worth the price... Please NOTE, 25% Of the charges were paid to VRBO!! hat's in addition to the charge for the location!! Host communicated with me prior to visit. Tho I tried many times, I was unable to reach host thru VRBO and had no way to contact him directly. Not sure why VRBO communication does not work.
