Great cabin for our holiday get together. Very spacious and well appointed. Great location for large group gatherings. Easy to communicate with the owner. Would highly recommend.
My friends and I had a great long weekend! The house was lovely, the property beautiful, and the surrounding area was amazing. We had a lovely time hiking, exploring Kingston and Woodstock, and hanging out in the house (and on the porch and in the yard). Definitely recommend!
The house was beautiful. We truly enjoyed our stay. It was one of the most well stocked places we have stayed. Not to mention the response from the owner was quick and efficient. This was a last minute booking and he was so accommodating of us. Highly recommend staying here.
We were visiting our family, in Rhinebeck, for the Thanksgiving holiday. The house was a comfortable and perfect spot. It was clean and the host was readily available and responsive to our needs. The road/area is rural and there are a few houses in the neighborhood that look somewhat run down but the house is set way back off the road, very private, secluded and
has a neat rustic log cabin vibe. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen, bathrooms and showers clean. We won't hesitate to stay here again.
The perfect gathering place for our 50 year college reunion
A perfect location to visit New Paltz, Rhinebeck, The Strand in Kingston and The Walkway Over the Hudson. The cabin was roomy for four women celebrating 50+ years of friendship. The living area was great for gathering and the kitchen was well appointed. The fire pit was a bonus. The cabin was very easy to access. Communication with the owner was very responsive with helpful suggestions of where to eat and the events in the area. Overall, it was a very positive experience!
John's house is beautiful. The rooms were all as described, with more than enough sleeping areas for my family. The key is kept in a lock box on the front porch and I decided to bring it inside our first night. As we were rushing out the door the next morning, to get to our daughter's graduation, I closed the front door just as I remembered that the key was inside the house! I frantically messaged John, and he assured me that he would handle the issue and, just as promised, by the time we returned hours later, the key had been retrieved (I believe by his handyman) and put back in the lockbox! Whew, crisis averted! I believe we were one of the first, if not the very first, guests & I understand that there are always kinks to be worked out. I did point out to John that there were some pots and silverware that were put away dirty and dust in areas that could be easily accessed to be cleaned. He thanked me for pointing this all out & apologized. I'm confident that he has addressed these issues.
I am originally from Kingston, NY and love getting to share my home and favorite recommendations with guests. I’ve been able to meet so many great people by hosting and I’m happy to answer all questions and inquiries!
The cabin is nestled in the woods but is a quick jaunt to uptown Kinfston, New Paltz or anywhere in the Catskills. Only 10 minutes from grocery stores, shopping, and plenty of activities, and yet you get full privacy from neighbors once you return home.
The house is a true log cabin meaning the Logs you see on the outside are the same logs you see on the inside. Outside you are surrounded by trees and nature. And inside is calm quiet and relaxing.
