à propos de cet hébergement
Magical Hermit Yurt - Private White Mountain Woods
This is a beautiful, insulated, 14 foot, Alaskan Hand-crafted, Nomad Shelter Yurt, approximately 1/4 mile hike into our 30 acre wooded property. It is off-grid (i.e, no electricity) but is well heated. The yurt is fully furnished as a bedroom with a double bed, windows, and 5 gallon water dispenser. There is a private out-house a few yards away plus a housed hot shower/compost toilet at the front of the property for summer guests. It is winter accessible by foot/snowshoe/snowmobile.
The space
The Yurt is decorated like a writer's getaway, meant to be enchanting and escapist- no matter why you're there. The floor has been hand-painted in black and white chess board squares, there are ample books, and unusual curios. There is a 5 gallon water dispenser with water inside and we provide cups, TP, some towels, a fully made bed, and extra blankets in the chest. There
are some lawn chairs outside as well. A fire pit is provided and there is a small deck outside to enjoy the overlook and the edge of the forest, as the yurt is nestled atop a small hill in a cozy clearing. About a quarter mile into the woods, you'll can relax in the quiet and beauty of the White Mountain area. While there is only a double bed standard in the Yurt, upon request we have a pack n' play available for infants and toddlers.
Please note, again, there is no electricity in the yurt. This also means there is not air conditioning. When itâs hot outside, it can get hot in the yurt. There are two large windows and an air vent but you are subject to the temperature of the season unless itâs cold enough to turn on heat. Most of the time, itâs great but occasionally New Hampshire does have very hot weather. We can only make it warmer for you, not cooler. Please plan in summer as though you will not have air con. I know itâs silly to have to say, but we canât do anything about the weather!
Also, There are two soft-light solar lanterns that will help you get around inside, but you'll need additional light. If you have headlamps, bring them along or regular flashlights will do.
Please take your trash with you when you leave.
This space is very private and away from our house, which is also on the property, and also well-distanced from our other tiny house rental on the other side of the property. Both have their own out-houses, trails, and amenities. We have 30 acres and lots of walking paths right on the land for relaxing or for your dogs to explore freely. Guests are encouraged to walk, build cairns's, build campfires in the provided spaces, and earth-friendly art supplies are provided (upon request in the winter) in the rental if you want to make outdoor art installations. It's a lovely spot to stay and take advantage of all of the activities on offer in the White Mountain area, or to cozy up around a campfire and unplug for a few days in seclusion. If you want to cook, please bring a camp stove and utensils.
The shower (available June-Sept) is located at the parking area in a small wooden building that included another compost toilet. Youâll have to walk out from the yurt to use it. It does have hot water.
A short-medium walk and mild hike (one part has a bit of an incline) to the space required, very easy for backpacker's or those accustomed to outdoor activities. The Yurt is available in the Winter as well and is heated. For those who would like to snowshoe out- we can provide snowshoes to you, or if you are in the area for the many snowmobile trails, you're welcome to snowmobile to the location (on your own snowmobile. Many come to this area with their outdoor vehicle trailers for the trails, but we don't provide the vehicle).
In winter we can provide a sled (and an extra hand if desired) to help you bring out your items. If you'd like to have a fire, you'll need to bring or forage your own firewood.
You likely won't have cell service here, though some do. Wifi is only accessible from the trail entrance or upper parking area. For a lot of people, this is a welcome break from the world.
The outhouse is a few yards from the Yurt and we keep it as clean as possible. It is newly built, wooden, and rustic. The entrance faces away from the yurt, enjoy the view of the forest while you sit!
Also, understand that we're homesteaders and currently building a retreat center. While the yard and garage may look like a work in progress at times, and there will be tools and chickens around when you arrive- we make sure that the yurt gets the rest of our attentions and remains clean and cute.
Please be aware that starting in May, until the end of October, The Rock Pile Motorsport Park is open from 10-5pm Saturdays and Sunday's (and occasionally Wednesdays). Proximity means that the sound of the bikes are often audible in the surrounding areas during open hours. Less so at the yurt, but please take note. Thereâs nothing we can do about the sounds of outdoor sports in Warren.
Our rentals/property are apart of The Gnostic Memeplex and we are a registered Church (a 501 [C3] Non-profit)
Guest access
You'll have the Yurt and it's outhouse to yourself. You're welcome to walk around on the trails on the 28 acres of forest- our house is at the front of the property, so you won't run into us unless we are doing maintenance. You may come across other guests walking the trails, should any be booked in the Tiny House, or camping area- but both of those rentals are on the side of the property.
Other things to note
In the warmer months, please keep all your food items inside the Yurt. There are bears in the neighborhood.
