Several local markets are within a short drive of the house offering essentials and prepared foods. CSAs like North Hero’s Savage Garden offer delicious fresh produce throughout the summer. Local farmers markets abound on Saturdays. Notable neighborhood eateries include North Hero House and Shore Acres Inn. For boaters, a public boat ramp is a short drive from the house and there several marinas where it is possible to rent boats. The island is a great place for cyclists to explore, interesting bike trails include Island Line Rail line – where you can bike across Lake Champlain to the mainland. Hiking is available at several regional parks. For a change of pace, Burlington is 45 minutes away and Montreal a little over an hour.
