Downtown Suite with two bedrooms and a full kitchen with a washer and dryer. This apartment is ready for you after a long day of hiking. Maybe you need to be in the Ellsworth area for business, what better place to stay than right downtown close to shops, restaurants, and pubs. The Union River is close by as well as many outdoor activities.
Place has potential, but the murphy bed and futon in the bedrooms were both pretty uncomfortable. Host seemed put out when we asked if there was extra bedding somewhere since the sheets on both beds had a large number of strands of human hair. She did show up with newly purchased sheets, which was appropriate. Would have settled for thoroughly laundered bedding. The locationâs a little noisy with a bar and resto nearby, but probably not a concern for younger partying sorts. Wondering why the apartment was full of candles with a rule threatening a 75 dollar surcharge if you light them. TVs werenât working, but we donât watch much TV. No hand soap when we arrived, but maybe thatâs to be expected? Guess the price was pretty much what the market will bear near Acadia.
This is a basic, no frills apartment that served us adequately. It was very clean, the owners were responsive to an issue that arose, and it was very quiet. However, as a family who wanted to use this more as a home, there were definitely things lacking: there was no coffee or tea, very minimal dining ware or cookware, no hooks in the bathroom to hang towels (what's a family of 5 supposed to do with their towels?), etc. The beds had very thin foam mattresses, but we slept adequately. It was a pleasant, scenic drive to Acadia, but traffic could be heavy at times.
Perfect place to stay for a tourist. Little shops to browse, cute little bakery/coffee shop across the street, a nice scenic 30 min drive to Bar Harbor. The apartment was very clean and roomy for the 3 of us.
The apartment was super clean and comfortable! So close to downtown Ellsworth and plenty of great places to visit. The owners were so friendly and helpful. Would recommend a stay with them!
This is a great spot on the floor above some main street businesses. You're right within walking distance of some good shops and restaurants. The size was perfect for 2 adults and 4 kids. Dr. Moore was a great host and very accommodating!
My family came from New Jersey to Maine to visit with a sibling that was in hospice in the hospital. When they went to visit her, she passed away within 30 minutes and they decided not to stay but to get back on the road to come home. They didn't check in and did not stay at the property. I originally booked two nights and reached out to the property manager about a partial refund, who said that she couldn't help me. I called the owner and left a voicemail but he never called me back. I am beyond frustrated with this experience and even reached out to VBRO to get assistance, who said that they would be in contact with me and never contacted me. This is a terrible experience at a time when my family is grieving and I wouldn't recommend this owner's property to anyone or for that matter will be the last time I will ever use VBRO. I guess my next option is contacting the BBB or possibly a lawyer!
Great Value and Friendly Staff in a Convenient Location
We recently stayed at this property and found it to be a solid choice for the price. While the place wasn't extravagant, it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
The location is fantastic â right in the heart of Ellsworth and within easy reach of attractions and dining options. The staff were incredibly friendly, making us feel right at home and offering helpful tips about the area.
The apartment, though not luxurious, had comfortable furnishings and a kitchen for basic cooking. The beds ensured a good night's rest after our exploration in Acadia National Park.
One downside was the absence of toiletries in the shower. It's best to bring your own as they aren't provided.
The pictures and description was a bit misleading. We knew from the pictures that the murphy bed and pull out bed were probably going to be thin mattresses but even the bed in the other room was a futon and tortilla thin. With 3 of the 4 full grown afults the beds were failures.
The washing machine washer combo fit an outfit of clothes.
No trashbags
No coffee...just an empty bag
And the small bedroom floor was very sticky. Felt like they steam cleaned it but didn't rinse enough which left a sricky film on our socks.
Over all nice. Location was great. The little cafe on the side street a half block over was phenomenal.
When we locked ourselves out the young women was great at gettint us in.
For a longer stay I'm not sure I'd pick it again due to uncomfortable beds.
Cute Suite above Main Street near Acadia/Bar Harbor
Photos are accurate. The suite is extremely clean, and had any amenity we could think of! There was a great book on the coffee table that had a town map, menus, directions for the appliances, and more. Great shops and restaurants up and down Main Street. Adorable town. The owners are extremely sweet and helpful. The price was excellent for Maine in peak tourism season. Can't wait for our next trip!
We came to Ellsworth and saw this apartment listed that worked for us exceptionally well. It was the best location to downtownâs restaurants, pubs and shops. Ruth and Butch made it very welcoming with a few treats left for us. We would definitely recommend this to others and will stay here again when back in the area.
