Starlight Cabin & Ride Away on Tomahawk Ridge

* Cabin sits on a peaceful ridge in the Texas Hill Country. It's located on a "no-thru-traffic" county road west of Utopia off Hwy 1050..
** View the brightest Milky Way skies between San Antone & Terlingua.
*** Most nights, besides the singing of cicada or the call of a coyote, the only sounds to be heard is the calling of dove to their mates.
**** Enjoy a few nights in this Hill Country Paradise on Tomahawk Ridge Road in Utopia Texas.
The space
StarLight Cabin:
* Located on quite low traffic Tomahawk Ridge Rd/PR 3900 (a private road with no-thru-traffic or public access.)
** Brilliant Milky Way and stars are inherent to the night skies here. You won't even see the lights of Utopia and will seldom see more than 2-3 distant lights from the cabin patio.
*** Some of the best year-round bird watching in the USA. This is one of the best natural habitats for Dove nesting and many other bird species.
**** We may not be plush and fancy, but it's a quite and peaceful little space that's perfect for a big dose of Rest & Relaxation.
***** For indoor entertainment, there is a 32" television for DVD use only. (Please bring your own movies.) You can also purchase the Robert Duvall movie filmed here, "Seven Days In Utopia" at The Lost Maples Cafe.)
****** Because of past & potential damage to flooring, carpeting, upholstery, and interior structure, etc., we do not allow indoor pets.
******* For location identification, note the GPS satellite maps showing the "Tomahawk" shape of the road encircling the property. The GPS address at our gate entrance (Tomahawk Ridge Rd/PR 3900) is "3164 CR 357".
******** Environmentally Conscious: We are a pesticide and herbicide free habitation and use only Diatomaceous Earth & all-natural essential oils for pest control.
Guest access
* Guests are restricted to the cabin & cabin parking area only.
** Although we seldom see snakes around here; there are numerous Texas Indigo snakes (royal blue/black in color) that are 5-7 feet in length. Please do not harm them; they are not poisonous, but they do prey on poisonous snakes. Without the Indigos, we would be overrun with less desirable snakes.
*** Exercise caution if handling plants; poison oak and ivy are common in this area.

This is a rural area that still hosts abundant natural wildlife and vegetation, so be mindful of wild animals and prickly and poison plants.

* Wild animals, including White Tail and Axis Deer, Armadillos, Red Fox, Racoon, Skunk, Ringtail Cat, Bob Cat, Russian Boar, Javelina, Rabbit, Coyote, and even Mountain Lion are still prevalent in the surrounding hills. So please be mindful, especially at night, as most of these animals are nocturnal.

** There are various species of cactus and other vegetation with thorns that can cause punctures. Poison Oak and Poison Ivy can also be found much of the year. So be mindful of the plants that you and especially your children touch or walk near and with this in mind, please do not leave your children unsupervised.

*** No three or four wheelers are permitted to be operated on or around the property and its road. Of course, County & State roads and highways are available to motorcyclist and bicycles. So be careful and enjoy.

**** Please do not cross into any enclosed or fenced areas or onto neighboring properties.

***** The charm of this area and its ambience is its quiet solitude and lack of night light pollution. Noise and outside lights can disturb and ruin this for everyone for miles around. Therefore, except in an emergency, use only minimal outside lights and absolutely no excessive noise ...especially after 9 PM.

****** Because of potential (and too much past) damage to flooring, carpeting, upholstery, and furniture, we do not allow indoor pets and outdoor pets must be approved with management.

******* Hunting and the discharge of firearms is absolutely prohibited.

********There is a $25.00 key charge if the door key is not returned, so please leave the key on the table near the sliding glass door before you leave.
