The house is beautiful and authentic Queen Ann style Victorian style with rich mahogany wood details and artistic custom wall papers. Victorian furnishings and original art work make the house feel warm and luscious.

We had a great time, and were amazed by the artifacts, furnishings, and of course the bird paintings! We dubbed ourselves Victorian Bird Queens for the weekend, and local friends praised the owner and the house as well. Thank you for a great stay!
House was very cool and unique. Great place for large families. The restoration on house was really very good. Would have liked to be able to use outdoor space but yard was not kept up in back. Nice option for visiting area.
Stayed in this home with my husband and 8 friends for my birthday. Such a beautiful home with tons of character and charm. The neighborhood is beautiful and felt very safe. The bedrooms were well appointed and comfortable, kitchen fully stocked, decor was instagram-worthy. There were some drafty / cold spots, as is the case with any old home. Highly recommend if you are looking for an authentic Victorian home experience.
Classic home with expected older home issue around closet space and air conditioning. A very beautiful space with interesting artwork. The owner is super nice and seems determined to return the house to its glory days. We had a great time.
This house is stunning and so much fun to stay in. It has the quirks of an older home, but we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Communication with owner was speedy and helpful, Gemma is a great host. Close to restaurants and shops in Newburgh and on a lovely, safe street with lots of street parking.
We had a group of 9 women, so just a couple of things that we encountered that weren't a problem, but just useful to know - uppermost bathroom has handheld sprayer in tub, so there are really only 2 full showers, one of which is in the main bedroom. Also one of the uppermost bedrooms has curtains instead of a door, but still private.
Stayed here for A day weekend- Gemma was amazing ! She was so
Accommodating with my requests to make our visit with our son (who we hadnât seen for 6 weeks because of Basic Training) that much more special !the house was beautiful and our party of7 each had their own rooms. We were awestruck by the history and beauty of the house and loved looking at Gemmaâs artwork. We spent hours wandering and making up stories of who might have lived there years ago! What a special weekend - we really made memories. Gemmaâs easy going approach to our stay and âcan doâ
Attitude to any questions I had made this visit stress free ! She is an amazing host and I would recommend her and this house without hesitation!
We stayed at Gemmaâs house during Upstate Art Weekend with a large group of adults. They were easy to communicate with and had a clean gorgeous property with all amenities you could need for a weekend stay. I had an art exhibition just down the street, so it was the perfect location easily getting back and forth from the gallery. The gallery (Elijah Wheat Showroom) is located in the riverfront which also has lots of restaurants (we really loved Jetset & Captain Jakeâs!) and the location is very close to the main strip downtown, maybe just 3-5 min drive. The houses / neighborhood were gorgeous, the house was super fun with all the antiques and interesting artwork, and the backyard was beautiful to take a moment to relax in. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Beautiful home with fenced-in property in a quiet, walk-able neighborhood just 2 blocks from the Hudson. Excellent support and communication with the host. The house was very clean, nicely furnished and well-stocked for family holiday cooking. There was plenty of street parking in-front of the house. Highly recommended!
I was a fashion designer in NYC for the last 20 years. In 2016, I closed my business and moved up to Hudson Valley. I love my life in the Hudson Valley!
This house is a gorgeous example of historic Newburgh during the hay day. The house built around late 1800's along the river front in Newburgh were stunning and very opulent. I am very fortunate the house is kept as one family house with original wood work and wall papers. Entire house is furnished from the Victorian period. There are paintings throughout the house as the house sometimes host gallery events showcasing local artists.
