Check in was supper difficult at the gate. Kitchen needs new pots and pans. Takes longer than five minutes to walk to the beach. It’s an amazing island and quite I will be coming back to SGI!!! Thankful for the great location of the house.

Lovely & Peaceful

A lovely house with a fantastic open set-up to add to the experience of being together for cooking, meals, and hanging out. Close enough to walk to the beach via a nature path or the road. Wifi to catch any necessary meetings while you enjoy paradise. Thank you for sharing the lovely home!

Vacasa is terrible

House was great! Property management was awful! Contradicted answers multiple times. We were told there was no grill, then we arrive and there were two including a pole mounted park-style grill. Vacasa said it wasn’t a listed amenity and therefore we were not allowed to use it. Then they said it was a public-use grill and to expect anyone to show up to use it
.just steps away from our stairs on a private, secluded lot. Then they said that it didn’t exist at all even though I was looking at it. Not a big deal but holy smokes
I would hate to deal with them on a REAL problem like A/C being out or a plumbing leak!

Beach was great. House was ok.

This home is a bit outdated but was in a beautifully secluded location. It was close enough to walk to the beach. Even on what we would assume was the busiest weekend of the year, there were no crowds. It was a perfect getaway with kids.

Vacasa VERY disorganized and unhelpful

Property was better than expected for the price and we were very comfortable and pleased with the property. However, Vacasa is absolutely terrible. Before arriving, I contacted Vacasa to see if there was a grill available and was told there was not. Upon arrival, we noticed there were TWO grills. One was a small Weber charcoal grill and then there was a pole-mounted park-style grill that looked like it was clearly for guest use. I contacted Vacasa and they said that the grill was NOT available for guest use as it was not a listed amenity. Another agent even told me that it was a PUBLIC AMENITY and that anyone from the public could use this grill only steps from the front door of a rather secluded property and therefore could not expect privacy. Very contradictory and confusing. We ended up not using the grill for fear of additional fees. I know a grill is not a big deal but I'd hate to have to deal with Vacasa on a real pressing issue.

Property is nice, property management is lacking

Property was as described. Furnishings were dated but nice, the beds were comfortable and the location was excellent! The trail to the beach was a nice scenic walk (be prepared for lots of steps up to the boardwalk). While the property was nice, the management was lacking. We arrived after a 9+ hour drive around 8:00pm very tired and very hungry. We just wanted to fix a quick dinner, but soon found that the utensils, cookware and silverware were greasy and dirty so we had to do a load of dishes our first night. There was also a foul odor in the trash can, the bathrooms were dirty, and there were roaches b/c of food crumbs under the bed and in the living room. I reached out to Vacasa and asked for a cleaning crew to be sent the next morning. They said they would “see what they could do,” but then I never heard back. We spent most of the next day at the beach and when we returned, there were some things that led us to believe someone had been there. Vacasa never communicated that someone would be entering the house nor followed up afterwards to confirm.Three days into our trip, there was a mandatory evacuation of the island. However, we would have never known that to be the case because Vacasa NEVER informed us that we needed to vacate. It should be the responsibility of the property manager to inform their guests that they have to evacuate due to an emergency. I know that Vacasa is a large, nationwide company, but Vacasa has a LOCAL office in St George. So disappointing!

The appliances/decor were very dated. Not enough cookware. No tv in bedrooms. WiFi was not good.

The beach house was very clean and Vacasa personal was great! The gated community was very quiet. We loved sitting on the porch and it had enough furniture outside. The grill was outdated, there was no pool and there needs to be better access to the beach. You had to use a lot of bug spray especially at night!! Overall it was an ok place to stay.

Another great stay

2nd time staying at this house, loved it again. Added an extra day very easy to do and vacasa people you can see face to face are right down the road. Would recommend to anyone!!

Decent stay with some flaws

The location is great and the amenities are good within the Plantation. Bed was comfortable and house fit needs. The price was very good. Cleaning needs to be addressed. The house needs some minor work done on it (we had to rig the sliding door in the kitchen since it does not lock). Some of the appliances are on last legs. Missing blinds in bedrooms. Factoring in price, probably a 3.5 star stay. There is some room for improvement though.

Old Florida experience

First time renting through Vacasa, they earn 5 stars. Cabin was located in a gated community with large private lots surrounded by stately pines and tropical undergrowth. The path to the beach was about 450 yards, well maintained and a pleasant walk. The beach was pristine in all regards. The house was modestly priced and as such do not expect stainless steel and granite. The house was dated but adequately equipped with necessary appliances which all worked. The beds were comfortable. There is no retail activity within the community so it is very private and quiet. The house is in need of some general maintenance as is usually found in rental properties. St. George Island, Appalachicola, and the "forgotten coast" is my favorite part of Florida. I like this place because of its charm and ambiance.

Peace and Seclusion in Plantation

The kitchen was Extremely well equipped!! Loved all the little extras owners had for renters. Laundry room very nice. Layout of home was very cozy and comfortable! Under house shower had hot water which was super nice!! Porch was wonderful and home was very secluded. At first, was disappointed there was only one tv, but actually was a blessing!! Games and puzzles instead made for quality family time!! The one and only drawback was no curtains on windows in master bedroom. All in all, truly enjoyed our stay at Seminole Wind!!!

Clean and beautiful

The property was extremely clean and everything was in working order. This property in the plantation was more secluded and private than most of the houses in the neighborhood and close to the beach. We had a great time and I will look for this property in the future.
