We enjoyed our stay, but there were some issues. The outdoor lights around the pool area were not working, we were told they would be fixed, but they were not. The kitchen, baths, beds were all clean and comfortable, but other areas were not swept and had sand and other debris. The pool and hot tub were awesome, and the living space was big and spacious. The location was great; close to the beach, and we really enjoyed driving the golf carts to get coffee and ice cream.

Another great beach vacay in the books

Our family loved our stay at Butterfly Beach. The house had everything you could possibly want in the kitchen and the recreation area was so nice. We utilized the large rug in the main house for games and the crows nest with comfy rocking chairs was everybody’s favorite.

A great time had by all!

What a perfect location! Property Managers and communication was great! The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed and the screened in outdoor area was great for evening family fun! The house was clean and provided everything we needed for a great stay.

Beautiful home

Everything from the property managers, the owners quick responses, the pool guy, the beautiful home and pool area, the views, the golf carts, screened in fun area under the house to the wonderful island of Upper Captiva was perfect! I recommend this home to everyone! We home to stay here again!

Great family vacation

We had a wonderful stay at this property. Communication with the property owner/manager before and during our stay was great. They were very responsive when we had any questions or concerns about our stay or getting to the island (our first time). On arrival the house was very clean and set up for our stay. The kitchen is very well stocked for your cooking needs, i cannot think of a single thing we felt we were missing. Rooms are very spacious with great lighting, and the greatroom offers a view of the water no matter which way you look! The outdoor areas are wonderful. The kids enjoyed playing pool and ping pong in the screened in porch, and the pool area offers a very generous amount of space. The location of the house is perfect. Barely a minute golf cart ride to the beach, as well as easy access to the nature preserve. We had access to plenty of beach equipment to enjoy our days of sun and sand. Overall ths was a perfect vacation and we sefinitely plan on coming back in the future.

Thank you North Captiva!

Excellent property with lots of amenities! The house was beautiful and very clean upon our arrival. We had ample space for 8 adults and 2 children. It allowed for nice space for gathering, games and family dinners but also space for peace and quiet. This property had one of the best stocked kitchens for cooking of any property we have rented on VRBO. The island has very limited restaurants which are very pricey. We planned our meals and used a grocery service which was excellent and definitely worth the money. Highly recommend. The lower level of the home provided lots to do with ping pong, pool table and more! Easy beach access as well. Tollie was easy to work with and his property managers are excellent. Any problem we encountered was immediately addressed. A few recommendations: Use Island Girl ferry service as we did not have a good experience with North Captiva Island ferry service. Highly recommend Nick B's catering service for one night of your meals. Note that the property requires a second golf cart for 7 or more which we accidentally overlooked. The owner assisted in getting us another cart. We will definitely be back! We love North Captiva Island for its beauty and overall laid back feel.

Spring break 2023

The house over all is beautifully decorated. There was issues with fans. The one fan in the kitchen was broken. The room with the queen size bed- fan and light was broken. Be aware there are many, many flights of stairs that need to be climbed up to get to the kitchen. The only time this was a major problem was on arrival. There was zero help or offers from property managers to lug huge heavy coolers up many flights of stairs. We have come to north captivia many times now and help has ALWAYS been provided without question. The property managers gave ZERO flexibility on check in/check out. They exspect you to wash and dry there towels before you check out to help them flip the home faster or you will be charged another fee. We felt as though that the cleaning fee we paid for should have covered that inconvenience to us. The furniture up stairs in the kitchen area consists of one small sectional and a chair. The sectional wasn’t adequate for my family of 5 to relax on. It seemed cheap and there was nothing holding it together so it slid apart when my kids where sitting on it. The outside pool area and game room was really nicely done. My family enjoyed that a lot! The kitchen was stocked with spices and things like olive oil, garbage bags, and dishwasher detergent. The home comes with one golf cart which is in the description of the home. If you are staying with more then 5 people I’d suggest renting another golf cart. We where so sad to see all the distruction that the hurricane unfortunately placed on the island. We knew the island wouldn’t be perfect. We could look pass all the imperfections and rebuilding they where doing around the island. Our exspectations where too high I think based off the price of the home. We still had a great time going to the beach, pool days,watching incredible sunsets, and boats and fun is great for boat/kayake rentals.

Hi! I am Tollie and my wife is Vanessa. We currently live in the Palm Beach area, on the east coast of Florida. Both my wife and I are Native Floridians, and have known each other since High School.

We love to travel, explore, and visit new places with our 2 daughters, age 8 and 6, and our son, age 1. We also really enjoy lazy days by the beach and getting away from it all.

Using Vacation Rentals is our favorite way to travel and see new places, and we are very exited to be able to share our special corner of the world with the Vacation Rental community.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

So, my family originally bought a house on North Captiva Island back in 1977, and in fact my parents still live in that house full time today.

Some of my earliest memories involve Golf Carts, White Sand Beaches, and Fishing Trips in the grass flats that surrounding the island. North Captiva quickly became a sanctuary for me and my family, and our favorite place to disconnect from the rest of the world.

Because of the unique nature and geography of the island, it has remained separated from the other Lee County Barrier Islands like Sanibel and Captiva, and only accessible by Boat. Despite that, the population of the island has driven it to get almost all of the comforts of home, and this is what contributes to North Captiva's distinct feel. You feel completely disconnected and isolated from the stress of the world, but you are not "Roughing It" in order to do so.

As my wife and I have grown, her first trip out to the island was at 16 with my family and I, we have come to realize that North Captiva is a great place for any group, of any size, who wants to get away. From big family get-togethers, playing board games, cards, and watching movies into the night, to romantic weekend getaways with my wife, and moonlit strolls down the secluded beach, North Captiva trips always had exactly what we were looking for.

In the end, we have come to look at North Captiva, and our home there, as our own little slice of paradise, and are excited to be able to share this with others looking for a truly unique "Private Island" experience without having to travel out into the middle of nowhere to get it. We Hope you will come stay at our house, and see what makes this little Island so special.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

My wife Vanessa and I really want to make our property a "Home Away From Home", for ourselves, and anyone who would like to come and stay. To us, this means adding all of the comforts of home, as well as everything you didn't even know you wanted, but love to use.

From Pots, Pans, Utensils, and Appliances, to Linens, Sheets and Beach Towels, we want our guest to instantly feel like they are at their own house in a different location.

We also really want the House to be fun and have done major updates to the house to do so. From the Private Pool and Spa to the Screen Enclosed Downstairs Gaming Area with Pool Table, Ping Pong Table, 9' Shuffle Board Table, and Sitting Area, we want people to love staying here and spending the days playing in the sun.

One of the things we hate when traveling is the unexpected costs and disconnected ownership, so we really want to be a property that eliminates those things. From having items on site, that normally take additional rental dollars, like a 12' Stand Up Paddle board or fishing rods, to coordinating with guests to ensure they know all of the "Local Tricks" to keeping transportation costs down, we want to help out guests maximize their stay.

Also, with parents and family friends that live on the island, we have the unique capability to be very reactive to any issues that our guests may encounter.

In all, we want every guest at our house to love North Captiva the same way we do, and look forward to making that a reality. We welcome you to come stay at Butterfly Breeze, and fall in love with our home and the Island, and we look forward to talking with you soon.
