Incredible views! Huge cabin, perfect location for Shenandoah and Luray.
Picturesque! I was in awe walking into this cabin. It is designed perfectly to showcase the gorgeous views of the mountains. Wonderful outdoor spaces, including porch, patios and balconies. It was lovely to wake up in the morning and see cows grazing in the surrounding pastures. You will also see a lot of bunnies and some deer. The proximity of this home to the town of Luray and to Shenandoah National park is ideal. Short drive, but still feels remote. Steep gravel driveway, so shift your car into low gear to climb.I loved that they had washer/dryer available for use and a very nice kitchen with lots of counter space. Bring your own supplies! While they have anything you could need in the kitchen for dishes, utensils and pans, etc. You will need to bring some rolls of toilet paper, dish detergent, and laundry detergent, some trash bags, and paper towels. Ample space, even for a big group. Great areas to gather like the firepit, dining table, and billiards table, (though pool cues were broken). The only suggestion would be for the lawn to have been mowed, to help keep the bugs away. But even still, this is the ultimate cabin stay for a group! I would recommend to anyone visiting the National Park and would absolutely stay again.
Wonderful Stay, But Watch Out for Post-Stay Charges and Scam
We stayed at this beautiful mountain property for a family vacation with friends. The location is stunning and peaceful, and our stay was overall enjoyable. As a professional cinematographer, I documented much of our trip and captured some stunning pictures. However, after we left, I received an unexpected charge to my credit card. The property manager claimed they found pet waste under one of the beds. This shocked usânone of us had pets, and all the children were potty trained. I contacted the manager for clarification and asked for evidence, but the response was unprofessional and no proof was provided.I reported the incident to VRBO, and after reviewing the case, they found the charge to be inappropriate and refunded the amount. While I appreciated VRBOâs resolution, the experience left a sour note.Advice to future guests: Take photos or videos before and after your stay to document the condition of the property. This can help avoid misunderstandings or disputes. The stay was lovely, but I urge caution when dealing with the property management after checkout.
This is a great house near Luray. The host has rules to be aware of that we found a little odd: no shoes in the house, no food or drink in the bedrooms. There is a great fire pit, but no chairs around it and a rule stating you cannot more the porch furniture. There is a horseshoe pit, but no horseshoes, and the pit was not maintained. Overall a nice place, but you need to be aware.
The cabin was even more spectacular than the photosâabsolutely stunning in person. The owner was very communicative, responsive, and fair throughout the entire process. Our guests loved their stay and had nothing but great things to say. Highly recommended!
Had a great time getting away from our classrooms for the weekend. View was fabulous. Cows next to cabin were fun to watch. Clean rooms and bathrooms. First time using VRBO was a bit confusing but would use again. We are already talking about booking again at this location.
We were hurricane milton "refugees" looking to take a break from the terrible damage we sustained from that storm
Escaped to the beautiful Shenandoah Luray area to this cabin
Our 4 month old Siberian husky decided to take a bite out of the cabin's wall.
I reported this immediately to the owner
He responded by saying "just send me
A picture ". He could have said a lot worse
I am responsible for the damages of course
But I will remember the kindness in his tone and words to a frustrated and frayed traveler as much as the beauty of those mountains
We were looking for a last-minute stay in Shenandoah, and came upon this gem! Stunning view of the mountains! Plenty of space for our family of 6 and then some, room for the kids to play outside and inside. The pool table was a huge hit. We were visited by wild turkeys and cows in the field to the side of the house- the kids loved it. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware. Everything was very clean, and the beds were comfortable. WiFi was good. While the driveway was steep, it was short compared to other places weâve stayed with a view as lovely as this. Itâs about 15-20 minutes to Luray and only about 15 minutes to the Thornton Gap entrance to Skyline Drive, which is a favorite spot of ours to visit. Ben was a very responsive host. We will return!
This was the perfect spot to house our entire family for our son's wedding which was located in the nearby Shannondoah Valley National Forest. The large home afforded every amenity needed, the property is absolutely beautiful and very private, yet easily accessible from the highway. The property is very clean, spacious, well furnished, large rooms with beautiful views and offers a large private outdoor space for relaxation and family gathering.
The host is absolutely the best, communicative, helpful and all accommodating. Highly recommend!
Everything was excellent and we enjoyed the property immensely except for the mattresses which were noisy and lumpy. Windows facing sunrise should have dark curtains.
I stayed here with my bridal party for my wedding at StoneyMan Valley Ranch, and it was absolutely beautiful. Very accommodating, and made me wish that was my everyday house. You wonât be disappointed, trust me. Ben King was great at communicating with us, and even let us arrive a little earlier which he of course didnât have to allow us to do. Overall, a wonderful stay, a wonderful âGettinf Readyâ venue for makeup and hair, and my bridesmaids and I had an absolute wonderful time, and made wonderful memories together at this place!
The space was fantastic. It was such a nice, quiet location to spend the holidays. We were pleased with the location, size and and flow of the home. We had a large group that was able to fit comfortably and connect as a family.
The views from this house were amazing! The layout and location of the house were nice.
However, the property had a few issues. The dishwasher was full of mold and completely unusable. The few towels that were available were rather threadbare. Also, the living area had only a couch and loveseat, which were fine, but there was not enough seating for the 10 adults to sit together.
Finally, a warning that the driveway was very difficult for those of us without 4 wheel drive.
Overall, it was a "good enough" property for the price and location.
We arrived to find the cabin was not cleaned. The owner told me to check the other house on the property, also not clean. He asked me to take linens from the closet and make the beds while he worked on getting the cleaning crew. I told him that was like staying in an unclean hotel room. He told me he would not charge me for that night & we found other lodging. Before returning to the cabin the next day, Ben texted me to flip the circuit breakers for the hot water and the AC. The house was 87 degrees when we entered! It took 4-6 hours before the house cooled down. The rest of our stay was fine.
Getting a refund for that first night was exasperating. After repeatedly trying to contact Ben over many days, he only refunded me just 2/3 of what I paid per night if you divide the full amount by 3 nights. The stress of not having the rental ready for our arrival, having to find other accommodations, our loss of time due to moving our things twice, elicited little concern or compassion from Ben. It became my financial loss. No compensation!
*If you run into any problems with a rental, I learned to contact VRBO at the onset!
The listing is misleading. It states a 2 night minimum, but he requires 3 nights during peak season. The price doubles after the fees are added in. Deck chairs, & stovetop glass, which is broken, needs replacing.
The open layout is nice for a large group. The view is very picturesque with the mountains and cows. The location is convenient to sights.
Upon arrival we discovered thousands of dead bugs on the floor in the main living/kitchen area. I contacted Ben the host and he told me he had an exterminator in the unit the week before, that he was 100 miles away and could not help me, that we should just "sweep them up". If we would have had any other place to go we would have left, but there were multiple graduations in the area and everything was booked. So, we swept them up, took an hour. In the meantime, my 80 year old mother in law got locked in a bedroom due to a broken door knob. Luckily there was a deck outside her room se we talked her through removing the screen and getting out that way. When leaving the house the first evening to meet family for dinner, the electronic locking system would not work. I again tried to call Ben but he did not answer. I also texted him pictures of the bugs, again, no response. I sent him an email as we were leaving the property on Sunday morning and he did call me after that. But was rude, kept talking over me, insisted the unit was "clean". All he offered at that time was another weekend at the house, which we have no desire to ever stay there again! I contacted VRBO on Monday and they reached out to him, but as of today, 12 days after our stay, no refund. I am very disappointed in the customer service at VRBO that they will not issue the refund themselves. They said because I didn't contact them while we were at the rental location, they can't give our money back.
We Turley enjoyed our stay with great view of mountain. Overall cabin was well maintained except couple of items. Dishwasher had mold which property manager says not. However, we didnât use it. And one of the bathroom drain was clogged. Rest was great.
Great location and cabin. Comfortably accommodated 8 adults and a 13 year old. Super clean and well-stocked. Big yard to throw ball and great views. Arrowhead lake was right around the corner and it had a nice walking trail around it. Close to Luray and numerous attractions.
Had an amazing time at the cabin with our close friends out of state for a reunion. The Cabin is SO MUCH prettier in person. Itâs really lovely upstairs and downstairs. No complaints. Extremely clean and welcoming.
This cabin home offers a lot of livable space with a cozy cabin feeling and best of all it is nestled within the mountains. Wake up pour a cup of coffee and enjoy the scenic views from the front porch or one of the many decks as you smell the fresh mountain air. Our family can not wait to return!
I am a 65 year old husband, father of two wonderful children and Grandfather of three grand kids. In my spare time I play golf with my son and friends. I enjoy the outdoors and living in the Shenandoah Valley, which is truly "Gods Country".
I have often thought, if God owned a motorcycle, the Shenandoah Valley would be his primary destination.
My home is secluded without being remote. My nearest neighbor is 3/4 of a mile from the cabin. Even with this seclusion I can be in Luray to shop in less than 15 minutes. For those that can't cut the cord I offer cable TV and wireless internet.
