1 block from beach w/private parking lot .37 spaces-first come first served. has shower & walking distance to Bogue inlet pier. Soundside public access w/pier & limited parking - can walk or bike easily. Apartment Located steps from bike path: walk or bike to restaurants, pier, shopping, grocery. 1 mile from public boat ramp. apt sleeps 2 with 1 queen bed & 1 futon. Fully equipped Kitchen. Hot/cold outside shower. Gas grill. 2 beach chairs. 2 beach bikes. Linens & towels.
The space
1 bedroom apartment with full kitchen including fridge, stove, convection microwave: private bath: on site designated parking. Outside hot/cold water shower around back. Private beach access with 37 space parking lot w/showers.
Guest access
parking on site. Park in left driveway. Access apartment thru archway. Outside shower at back of property. This is a shared space and guests are welcome to use it.
Other things to note
2 adults.. no pets. Beach access with parking. Also within walking distance. Go to end of cedar street. Turn right and go to end of street. 37 parking spaces which are first come first served. You will see gate. Use fob for access. Showers at access. Short walk to Bogue Pier. Pier house with clean restrooms there. The Surfs Up restaurant at pier has good food and drinks with nice view.

The unit was perfect. Location was close to beach, shops and restaurants. Mary was very accommodating, unit was clean and well stocked. Perfect in every way!

The 'Emerald Mermaid' was everything we expected and more. Its location is excellent, close to two major grocery stores, delicious restaurants and ice cream shops. The property is clean and beautifully furnished. You have your own gated beach access just a short two blocks away and the outdoor shower is marvelous for the return from a day at the beach. If we make another trip to the Crystal Coast, we'll definitely stay here!

Great place to stay for the week, the parking/beach access was very convenient for us. We could also walk to ice cream and dinner from the house. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. We woke up a few nights due to a loud mechanical noise that came through the floorboards right near the bed but other than that the place was great for us. We would stay here again.

Great apartment with everything you need

This apartment is perfect for a quiet beach vacation. It’s right at the end of the main part of Emerald Isle, so it’s an easy walk or bike ride for pretty much anything you need. The apartment was clean and private, and having things like bikes and beach chairs available was a great bonus.

Missed Windows

The accommodation was fine. What the photos don't reveal is that it was just one room (plus a bathroom) with a bed separated by a wall. And what bothered us was that there was only one narrow window, so we had to constantly turn on the light.

Perfect

Just the best time. Biked to breakfast for açaí bowls, excellent private parking at beach, walked 4 miles every day, walked to fishing pier and looked at all the catches of the day, ate at restaurant there. Used sound access to paddle board out to islands and touch many critters, including hermit crabs, horseshoe crab, conch. Clean, fully stocked, excellent communication with host anytime need arise. Even used smart TV to continue the series we were watching at home. Amazing little place.

Perfect location w ocean AND sound access!

Loved this very clean, very well-stocked unit. Perfect size for two, and the best to us was the proximity to activities. We biked up for açaí bowls, walked to the pier restaurant for dinner, paddle boarded on the sound, and walked for miles each day on the beach. Love that it has great access to both ocean and sound!! Very responsive/available host. Will be returning!

Just right

My husband and I decided to stay at EI a second week after our adult children returned home. We didn't need a huge place to stay and this was just right. The owners were very friendly and above us the entire week but never heard a sound. The unit was clean and just as described. The ability to drive and park down at the beach was wonderful so we didn't have to haul our chairs and my husbands fishing gear by foot. However it is still close enough to easily walk to the beach or pier. It is small but just as described, perfect for 1-2 people. Also we left behind a few important items and the host was so accommodating to send them in the mail. Thank you!

Great stay!

We throughly enjoyed our stay at the Emerald Mermaid. It was a great location for us as my husband’s family had a beach house rented not far away but there wasn’t space for us and this space was perfect for 2 to go hang out with them and then come back to peace and quiet. I wish Emerald Isle was only 6-8 hours away instead of a 17 hr drive because I’d be back every year.

Not what we expected

I would say that pictures you show of your place need to be updated. The refrigerator was extremely small, the TV was difficult to use and small, the dehumidifier that was in the bathroom was very loud, and there were no dressers for clothes. Yes it has beach access, but from the pictures it looks like it is out your property. In reality you have to drive or walk to a parking lot and then over the dune to the beach.

Mermaid Haven

Perfect studio apartment! Kitchen well equipped with a wide variety of pots/pans/measuring tools/dishes/knives. Small refrigerator, but large enough to hold essentials and several grocery stores near by. Space was clean with a vacuum provided for sand patrol! Covered outdoor space for relaxing. Easily walkable beach access( bikes also provided) Hosts very friendly! Would most certainly stay there again.

Top-notch hospitality

We could not have enjoyed our stay here more. The host truly paid attention to every detail with this unit. From the complementary bikes, to the porch games, to the grill and outdoor shower, everything was decorated so lovely and all the amenities really made us feel at home. The location is perfect--central to the beach, bike path, and restaurants. On top of that it is incredibly affordable! Thanks again to our hosts-if we're ever in the area again we will be back.

Great Stay

The property was clean and perfect for what we needed for our Memorial Day weekend beach stay. Mary provided plenty of linens along with beach chairs and bikes that were very convenient. Communication with Mary was easy and she provided instructions for just about everything in the house which was very convenient. A great stay!

Beautiful studio apartment

We stayed only few days. Studio apartment was clean and well furnished. Front patio chairs very comfortable. Bikes were nice to have. Everything is walking distance. Owners are very nice and friendly. Definitely recommend the place for a quiet vacation.
