Thank you for being our guests, Douglas! We hope you were still able to enjoy the home as so many others have. In lieu of a formal rental agreement, and due to some prior short term rental guests not respecting property and safety considerations, we need to have house rules to help protect our own liability and also to protect the property to ensure it is well kept for future renters. While it may not be every renter, we do need to plan and be prepared to have certain things clearly stated. We hope you can understand the sensitive nature of opening up our home and neighborhood/community to others. If there are ever any concerns we would be happy to discuss.

Thank you for being our guest. We did have dishwasher soap, not sure where the confusion was in finding that. So sorry. Also, for future renters, please note the backdoor handle doesn't have a lock, so instead it has a security bar that simply one needs to be raised and lowered. It is resting horizontally across the sliding glass door at about 4-5 feet high. It can indeed be raised and lowered with ease and is within reasonable sight.

Dear future renters, it needs to be specified that this was a total fluke incident and our cleaner had an emergency which pulled her away in the middle of her cleaning, and then she was unable to return in time prior to check in. Of course, this is a most unfortunate circumstance, and I would also be very unhappy if I arrived to a rental and it wasn't clean. Nonetheless, we want you all to know it was a total rare fluke occurrence due to emergency. We were immediately responsive to the first point of contact from the disgruntled guests and we offered the cleaning fee to be refunded immediately. We also contacted our cleaner right away and found out what happened, and then we sent someone else who returned shortly after check in to finish cleaning. We were so very sorry for any inconvenience and disappointment. Regarding early check in, we are not a hotel. Short term rentals are a different scenario and it is difficult to offer early check ins when we have a same day flip. We always try to accommodate this request whenever we can. Some short term rental owners even charge an added fee for an early check in, as do some hotels. We don't add an extra charge when we are able to extend that bonus. But, we just can't always offer an early check in, unless the home can be ready.
