Great Lakes Waterfront Cottage Estral Beach

The view of the sun sparkling on the lake stops you in your tracks the second you walk through the door of this newly renovated cottage. Almost every room in the house has a water view (with the exceptions of only the bathrooms and garage)The proximity of the cottage to the lake gives you the feel you are on a cruise ship. Spend your day on the water, on the deck outside overlooking the lake, barbecue on the deck, have a fire in the patio gas fireplace at night after it all. For swimming and watercraft, there is a brand new public swimming access right next door where you can also launch your Kayak / paddleboard. Incredible restaurant with bar “Vincent V’s” 100’ from the Cottage with incredible food! Point Mouille state game area down the road with endless nature to explore. There are two beautiful beaches you can paddleboard or kayak over to. One is Newport Beach at the mouth of Swan Creek intersecting Lake Erie, and another around the Southernmost corner of Estral Beach. There is a never ending amount of waterways and nature to explore here. There is also a treadmill, exercise bike (use at your own risk) and game room in the attached garage with a foosball table and table tennis. Everything in the house is new, all appliances, including: washer, dryer, dishwasher, tankless water heater, bathrooms, kitchen, everything! Nothing has been overlooked here. Two full bathrooms with the on demand water heater make all the difference in the world when 5 people need to get ready to go out without having to share one bathroom or wait for a conventional water tank to refill once it is depleted. Make sure you research that out if you are considering another property. That alone could make or break your day.

Very nice place, beautiful sunrises and sunsets, stars are beautiful. Seen a bunch of eagles every day The beds could be softer lol and I wish there was a gate access leading down we’re fishingthat would’ve been really cool, but all-in-all great place good area accessible to all shopping needs. Made a lot of memories and Had a great time.

Jonathan, Thanks for the great review. I am sorry you didn’t like the beds. I have had so many compliments about those beds. A couple of party's wanted to know where I bought them and what brand because they wanted to buy the same ones for their house. As for a gate to the fishing, we just put in a massive fishing and swimming access in the next lot over. I wish you would have asked me about it. I didn’t know you were going to be doing any fishing. This place has the most magical sunrises I have ever seen. Toss in watching bald eagles fish, it was so amazing. It was everything! We would go back. The host is wonderful as well. We will definitely visit again.

We really enjoyed staying at the Beach House, the view of the lake was awesome. The house was clean and nicely upgraded, and a nice quiet neighborhood. My granddaughter enjoyed the exercise/game room. If we come back this way again, we would definitely stay at the Beach House.

It was a good space for a girlfriend weekend. Probably on us to not realize the there was no table suitable for games or the crafting we’d hoped to do. We also didn’t gather that lake access was so limited. Again, that’s on us for not paying closer attention when booking. We still enjoyed the sounds and watching boats out on the water from the spacious patio. The house was cute, clean and comfortable. It was nice to have a full kitchen and washer and dryer on premises as well. Rich was very helpful with communication.

Hey Heidi, I am confused about your review. I have a coffee table in the living room, a bar that seats 3 in the dining room, a bar that seats 3 in the rec / exercise room and also a massive table that seats 6 in the rec / exercise room. As far as the lake access, my property is attached to a 30 foot wide lake access. I am not sure what you thought was limited about it? Lovely cottage right on the water. The lake views do not disappoint. Two bedrooms with king size beds and two baths make this a perfect spot to get together with old friends. We spent the weekend chilling around the fire, relaxing, and listening to the waves. We will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful, relaxing weekend at the ENG! The property was lovely. Our only disappointment was that the photos made it look like there was no barrier between the home and the water. In reality, the deck was fenced off entirely from the rocky/stone steps to the water, so you needed to go out the front door and around the side of the house to the public access area in order to enjoy a swim. We enjoyed a relaxing walk down Lakeshore Drive, delicious dinner at Vincent V’s (the look of the outside does not match the hospitality and delicious food inside), and time spent on the back deck in the sunshine watching freighters and fisherman out on the lake. Rich even had the TVs set up so we could watch Disney while we did crafts and puzzles inside after dinner without logging in to our own account. A very nice bonus feature! Overall a great experience with Rich’s place and a beautiful, hidden gem of a location!

Dear Jacquelyn, First off, my apologies that my property did not live up to your hopes. As you know, my deck is on a 5 foot high seawall, without a railing, it would be an accident waiting to happen (the pictures depict this). I had to install a railing number 1 for safety and number 2, to get insurance coverage. There never was water access from my property even before the railing was installed. I never advertised that there was water access from my property. I am sorry it was that much of an inconvenience for you to have to walk 20 more steps to get to the water and that caused you to leave me a 4 star review. A 4 star review has very damaging consequences for a host. It means I was a poor host, so then VRBO pulls me from super host status and causes VRBO to diminish the push for advertising my property, essentially costing my small business bookings. I attempted to contact Jacquelyn to reconsider her 4 star review and inform her how damaging it is to small businesses, but she has ignored my inquiry. I would urge anyone who is considering booking my property to ask questions for clarification. It is never my intent to deceive anyone to book my property. I don’t want you here if the property is not what you are looking for, as that just hurts you and me. It’s a disheartening that I provided Jacquelyn a 5 star stay and she gave me a 4 star review, however, I am glad she enjoyed her stay. The place is incredible!

This property was built in 1930, it has been completely renovated, and nobody has lived here since the renovation that was finished in 2022. This property gives you a transported feeling as soon as you walk in the door.

It has a brand new kitchen, but if you don’t want to cook, having the family restaurant “Vincent V’s” right across the street is wonderful. There is a brand new water access going in next door, expected completion Spring / Summer 2023. There is also a boat launch within the village.
