This is a very comfortable and cozy place to stay in the beautiful Adirondacks. Bruce is an excellent host with great communication. He really goes out of his way to make it comfortable. I highly recommend this property

We had a wonderful three-day stay at this VRBO. The property was very clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The kitchen was especially nice—clean, well stocked, and had everything we needed to prepare meals during our stay.The accommodations were comfortable, the property was welcoming, and everything was just as described. The hosts were also very accommodating and made the whole experience easy and enjoyable.We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this property to others. We would be happy to stay here again!

This was a beautiful, well cared for house. Additionally, it was in a fantastic location for exploring Tupper lake, Saranac lake, and Lake Placid. Bruce was an excellent communicator and made the rental process very smooth.

The house is extremely convenient for paddling and hiking locations around Tupper and the Saranac lakes. Convenience of the beach from the house is great, but not being able to park there isnt the most helpful for those bringing their own kayaks or etc. The upstairs bathroom is nice, but doorways are a little short for taller people. Overall it was an excellent trip and the house in the woods was fun!

This camp was deal for our gathering of long-time friends…great spaces for hanging out, relaxing, conversation & sharing meals together, not to mention its geographical location worked well for all of the activities we had in mind(The Wild Center, church service at Chapel Island, paddling on Upper Saranac Lake,riding bikes in the new ADK Trail, rail biking at Revolution Rail, checking out Ausable Chasm). The host, Bruce, could not be more generous with sharing information & ideas with his guests! In fact, we enjoyed ourselves so much that we’ve already booked again for a future visit!!

Bruce the host could not have been nicer explaining all our questions. The house was fabulous with all modern conveniences. The deck with gas grill was very wonderful. The screened in porch has great for morning coffee. We have a dog that loves traveling with us and she loved playing in the woods behind the house. We hope to stay here again.

Very friendly host who responded quickly to my questions and generously offer his canoe for our use; the weather was a bit spotty showers so my 39 yo son only took his kids out in the canoe once.The house is incredibly well stocked for cooking and grilling, plenty of towels etc and lots of games for rainy periods. The Only negative is the steep driveway which the host noted in description. I hate backing downhill which could have been avoided if we planned for a better orientation of our 3 cars.

Our stay was very good. The owner was very accommodating and communication was great. We had everything we needed and more. We didn’t use the beach area as it in the fall but it was beautiful. We would not have a problem going there again.

The property is on a very steep hill but being able to back up to the back porch was helpful for loading and unloading. Very nice place for the 8 of us. We were comfortable there.

This was a perfect spot for our Adirondack get-away. The house was private, but had access to a wonderful community beach on a pristine lake. The house had everything we needed, right down to the marshmallows and chocolate for s'mores. Bruce was a very responsive and accommodating host, and we will definitely be back!

House was large enough for everyone to feel comfortable, especially when my older sister's family visited for lunch. The office space was especially good for my daughter -in-law working remotely. I loved the wooded area but I missed time on the lake. Always love the Adirondack mountains.

Nice winter getaway

This home is in a nice, quiet location and also more spaceous than some of the Adirondack winter getaway homes we had previously booked. The host was available and responsive to any questions. We will definitely consider returning next year.

We had a wonderful week. The lake was beautiful and we enjoyed using the canoe and kayak. It was just a short walk away. The kitchen set up made it very easy to cook and the cabin was comfortable. There were great hikes nearby too. Bruce could not have been easier to communicate with, and was always available to answer any questions.

Great time

We had a wonderful time at Bruce’s retreat. It was a perfect Autumn leaf season weekend. It did rain and snow the entire weekend, but sitting by the fire inside was a nice break. House was well-appointed, clean and Bruce was as an excellent host.

From the booking to check out our stay was wonderful. The camp is equiped with everything you need for a stress free stay in the ADK. We stayed with our family, 14, 19, 21 and our dog Scoobie! And our sons girlfriend. The rooms and beds were comfy and plenty of room. We are a fan sleeping family and they had fans galore!! The fire pit is perfect! Easy to get to and great wood supply. My whole family said 10 out of 10!! Would recommend for family get away! We would definitely come back!!

Excellent peaceful cabin getaway

We enjoyed our short stay at the property. It’s very quiet, no service but the WiFi works great. The property is very wooded and hilly with not a lot of flat grounds so important to consider for kids/pets/limited mobility persons but we enjoyed the peace and privacy. We had all the amenities we needed and it is a quick 15-20 minutes from shops or adventures. The owner is very communicative and ensured we had everything we needed.

Fishing HQ

The cabin was clean, check-in was easy, and Bruce was a bounty of information on the area. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook. My father and I rented this cabin as a base of Operations for our yearly ADK fishing trip. The cabin is within 10-20 mins driving of several bodies of water as well provides access to a community beach/launch right on Upper Saranac Lake 1-2mins down the road. It was a great place to return to after a day on the water.

Great house for Adirondack stay

We had a family gathering, and Bruce's house was perfect for that. Large and comfortable common area and dining area, nice bedrooms and bathrooms. Large screened in back deck, saw lots of hummingbirds feeding on the Bee Balm! Very nice beach area, we used the canoe and kayaks. Bruce is very responsive and generous with his time. Great location for touring some Adirondack highlights.

For clarification, the two statements above were NOT what our guest, Chris intended for her review, this was apparently a computer glitch. Neither my guest, nor I were able to have it changed. We allow, and embrace pets at our property, and the listing description clearly states this house is perched on a hill in the forest. There is no appreciable view, nor did my guests expect one. In the process of creating her review, she was asked to fill in two text boxes, pertaining to any pets she brought, and the view. Her responses ended up showing as the entirety of the review and now can't be changed.
