2025 is going to be awesome! Entire property-pool-hot tub-pets ok- golf-redwoods
This house sleeps 8 in beds. Itâs a 3 bedroom 3.5 bathroom mid century modern house has a great open concept on the Benbow green. The kitchen has been upgraded, there are 2 living rooms, a beautiful dining room, two patio spaces and plenty of paved parking. It is located on the Golf course and is a swing away from the Benbow Inn restaurant and bar. The hot tub is brand new. The pool is salt water. There is extensive outdoor dining with a fire pit and Bbq. All the linens and bath are luxury quality. Come book with us!!
We enjoyed the hot tub! Especially after running The Avenue of the Giants Half Marathon. Property is a bit older, but quaint and comfortable. Had fewer beds than listed at booking. Easy drive to a nearby market in Garberville. Loved our stay.
This home is a gem in Southern Humboldt. Just steps from the historic Benbow golf course. My kids loved the pool, itâs big and deep. Easy access right off Hwy 101, near the town of Garberville with good grocery stores. Close to Redwood groves and swimming holes on the Eel River. Comfortable beds and amazing views.
We arrived to the address and first thing we encountered were 2 trash receptacles filled with garbage in the driveway apparently left by the cleaners. We entered the house which was very clean and delighted to find all the amenities listed. However - as we stepped outside to the back of the house, only to find -
1. The Jacuzzi water murkey and should have been refilled with fresh/clean water.
2. The pool looked uninviting as it was filled with leaves and debris at the bottom as the filter system didn't seem to be working properly and pool looked like it had not been vacuumed for some time. 3.The gas barbecue burners did not burn efficiently. Propane tank was filled but the gas lines seemed clogged and back burners did not burn properly - we couldn't use it for the prime steaks from Costco that we brought with us, so opted to utilize a Komodo Egg shaped smoker/charcoal BBQ that was next to the fire pit, only to find it filled with ash and moldy cobbs of corn leftover from the last users.
4.The fire pit was also filled with used firewood ash. We took the time to clean out both and scrub the grills for the Komodo.
A great house for a weekend party/barbecue and festival somewhat diminished by a lack of maintenance. We tried to leave it cleaner for the next users. Nonetheless - we did enjoy our stay and would come back again for next year's Reggae on the River!
We also are rural people from Hawaii and understand.
