The view is just as the photos show—spectacular. We found the beds extremely comfortable, the rooms quiet, and the amenities were great and the kitchen and bath supplies fit every need. Furnishings were great, cozy. Everything worked well. There were lots of puzzles and games available. Location is about 2 minutes away by car to Beverly Beach, and centrally located between Newport and Lincoln City, with Nye Beach and Depot Bay nearby.

This was the perfect place for our family to stay while on the Coast. We enjoyed the gorgeous views, short walk to the beach, and the perfect location between Newport and Depot Bay. Everything was clean and as advertised.

Good communication prior to check in. Beautiful view at the highest point in the road with occasional deer wandering the back yard. Hot tub was a nice touch.

A special place - we'll be back

This is the 2nd time we've stayed, and there's a reason we returned. Very comfortable well-equipped house with an unbeatable view of the ocean. The hosts were great. I look forward to the next time we can stay there.

The location was great - close to the things we wanted to do and the view was fantastic. We enjoyed the clean, cozy house. The kitchen was well appointed- we cooked most of our meals during our stay. I would recommend this rental to anyone going to the Otter Rock area.

Comfortable little house with fantastic views of the ocean. While there isn't a beach within easy walking distance, there are a couple that are within a 5 min drive.

John, Thank you for the wonderful review. We truly appreciate it and are so glad you enjoyed your time at The Hideaway. Yes, beach access is right down the hill at Beverly Beach State Park. It is a 2 minute drive max. The beach is right there with quick and easy access. There is a picnic area, bathrooms and a place to wash off the sand. Beverly Beach stretches about 6 miles. 2 miles North to Otter Rock and 4 miles South toward Yaquina Head. It is a wonderful stretch of beach. Thanks again for the review. We hope you will come back for another visit.

A wonderful home!

From the moment you walk in, you just feel the home has been taken care of very well over the years. The view alone is a reason to stay but all the other charming details we're such a delight. We felt very safe being at least a 100 feet above the sea level and the ocean knocks out any highway noise. Mornings are so peaceful and the sunset at night is like no other. We can't wait to return!

We enjoyed showing our Florida friends the beauty of the Central Oregon coast & having a beautiful beach home for our evening retreat. We had the neighborhood kitties to visit while we sat out every evening . Your home was a lot like our own, very comfortable & inviting.

House has a great view but is not ocean front

The house is very nice. The cleaning company is not professional but the house was adequately clean. The view on the website makes it appear that it's ocean front but it's not. It's ocean view and about a mile walk to the beach.

Comfortable house with spectacular views

We really enjoyed our stay. House was as advertised. Clean with sufficient room for two families with one child each. Views from the main room (which includes the living room, dining room and kitchen) were amazing. And great views from the upstairs bedrooms too. Overlooks Beverly Beach. A very short drive down the hill to the parking area of Beverly Beach, very convenient. Of note is that the backyard has a steep drop down cliff so little children need to be careful not to play near the edge (in particular at the northwest portion of the backyard). Overall, a wonderful stay.

lovely home in great location

This home was perfect for our family of 4 with 2 teens. In between Lincoln City and Newport and just off of 101, we were able to explore both north and south and get home fast. Beverly Beach is beautiful and so close. The house was very clean and supplied with more cleaning supplies as needed. With COVID, we did mostly outdoor things and got take out, but the kitchen was well equipped. With a lighthouse in view, we were also happy just to sit and read and enjoy the sunsets. Be sure to get outside after dark, as the star gazing is incredible. Thanks Tracy for a great stay.

Amazing getaway!

This was a spectacular house and view ! I stayed here with my daughter & 4 grandkids and we all loved it. You have a fantastic ocean view inside or outside the house . We loved watching the boats and the lighthouse at night. Beverly Beach is a short distance whether you walk or drive. Easy access and a great beach. This house has everything you need! The only thing it was missing is a lock on the downstairs bathroom door. With 6 people there you always had to announce when you were going into the bathroom so no one walked in on you. We had a wonderful time and look forward to coming back.

Amazing views, great location, lovely home

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Love this house! It’s perched above the main road providing incredible views from the Yaquina lighthouse to the south and far to the north. The neighborhood is nice/quiet and a short driving distance to the grocery stores, movie theater and area attractions in Newport. The beach below is accessible down the road via Beverly Beach State Park and is a nice stroll at low tide. The house is well maintained and stocked including the kitchen, TV with streaming capabilities, and washer/dryer. Opening the windows and sliding patio door provides a lovely breeze through the house and listening to the waves at night while sleeping was amazing. Would love to see Adirondack chairs or chaise lounges in the garage on our next visit so we can soak up the sunshine on the back lawn.

So so house, great view

The ocean view was amazing, but the house itself was just ok. We had to buy a battery for the smoke alarm as it was beeping when we walked in the door. And bought draino for the tub to drain and a baking sheet for cooking. We had to buy toilet paper, trash bags and hand soap as these not provided for a 5 day stay. Bedroom window leaking from rain, bedsheets were torn, linoleum floor peeling up. Bedding not very nice. The couches were comfortable though. Quiet neighborhood and 1/2 mile walk to Beverly Beach. 6 miles to town.

The issues raised in this review are very very disappointing. They are being addressed today. We take pride in our home and want all guests to have a wonderful experience. We rely on guests to alert us if anything is wrong during their stay so if at all possible we can fix it immediately. Our review history is very good. We have not had many complaints but when guests do contact us we take action right away. The Hideaway is a special place for our family and we want all guests to feel the same way. Thank you. Cute Ocean Cottage

This Ocean cottage had the most wonderful ocean view from downstairs and upstairs. THE BEDS WERE WONDERFUL!!! Well equipped with kitchen cookware and utensils, and adequate seating and ocean view in the dinning room and living room. I only have one complaint, being a senior, that the upstairs did not have a suitable landing for which to go from the stairs to the bedrooms, one on the right and one on the left. An accident is just waiting to happen, and my suggestion would be to add additional railing to hang on to when entering each bedroom. However the view from the bedrooms were wonderful. The two bedrooms share a nice size bathroom. Our stay was lovely for the short time we were there, as we had to leave a day early due to one of the guests being rushed into Corvallis to the hospital due to failing health.

Fantastic view!

View is amazing! Hwy 101 is below property, however, you do not hear the traffic due to sound of ocean. Can’t see road unless you try really hard! King and queen beds are upstairs with a shared bath. Note..the tub/shower are upstairs. Stairs are pretty steep and did make it a little hard for elderly mother. Half bath is downstairs. Beds were very comfortable! Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. Communication with owner was fast and easy. The only complaint is the housekeeping. Shower curtain was very moldy, stains on carpets, freezer dirty, bedspreads need washed. Hand prints on windows. But we still enjoyed our stay.

It grows on you

We were expecting a simple walk to the beach because we had our 36 year old severely handicap Daughter with us. It was a drive down the road and under hwy. 101. It has beautiful views overlooking Beverly beach. It was an absolutely beautiful weekend!! Pretty much everything was there. It would have been nice to have a larger fry pan for making breakfast for 6 people.
