Sunny Secret Garden Getaway -- a private guest suite w/ fire pit -- 7 mi to UGA!

Welcome! Rest and recharge in nature before some game-day fun in our private sunlit suite complete with outdoor flower and vegetable gardens and our small flock of hens.

Enjoy a complimentary bottle of wine or beer in your own private garden complete with adirondak chairs and fire pit after the game, or cozy up next to the fireplace for a relaxing night in after a day of fun around town.

It's our joy to create an unforgettable stay for you in our little garden getaway!

The private guest suite is located on the lower level of our home. Walk around the front of the house and through the honeysuckle archway to the secluded garden and patio area with a private entrance with keypad entry. Upon entering, you will see a small dinette set and a cozy and colorful living space with fireplace. Down the hall is the queen-size guest bedroom and around the corner is the breakfast kitchenette and full bath.

We have a flock of 4 backyard chickens on site behind the rental property. The chickens will remain in their coop during your stay. Please feel free to go say hi to them! We do not have any roosters, so there's no noise save for a few happy clucks.


NOTES:

- It should be noted that we do occupy the home in the floors above, along with our two children. We value your privacy as well as our own. We've created the space to allow you to feel as much autonomy as humanly possible. Should you need anything at all, we are only a call or text away!

- BREAKFAST KITCHENETTE: There is a refrigerator, a microwave, a toaster, and coffee goodies provided for you! We do not have a stove or oven and no kitchen sink. We will provide a "bus bucket" that you can place dirty dishes in and place outside so we can clean them and return them to you. We have provided dish soap and sponges for cleaning cups and plates that have been wiped clean in the bathroom sink.

- KIDDOS: the guest bedroom can also accommodate an infant or small child sleeping in a portable crib. (pack-n-play not provided)

Great little place!

Great little place to stay. Close to Athens and the action without being in the middle of the crazy. Parking and accessibility to the entrance door are not ideal, especially in rain, but the actual space is clean and comfortable. Easy access to lots of eateries and shopping. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would do it again.

A little gem close to Athens

Great spot for a visit to Athens - perfect for a home game weekend! Decor is adorable. So clean and nice; everything you need for a comfortable and cozy stay. Nice outdoor space to relax too, two deer greeted us in the morning! Great hosts who are happy to help with anything you need. Would highly recommend and will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Athens.

Perfect little getaway!

This place is the perfect little getaway spot! We stayed here for our daughter's graduation from UGA, and had the best experience. Hannah was the perfect hostess! We were greeted when we arrived, and were made to feel right at home. Everything about this place was perfect. The decor, the location, the outdoor garden, breakfast on the patio...I would recommend this place to anyone looking to stay near Athens, but not in it. The location was the perfect distance to be away from the bustle of Athens, but close enough to get downtown quickly. If you're looking for the perfect place to stay, this is what you want!

The Host and VRBO was fabulous. I never had to ask for anything all. Hannah would email each evening to make sure I had everything I needed! Very friendly family. Such an adorably decorated, clean place! They respected my privacy and would definitely stay here again. My stay was 4 nights and I would refer this place to any single person or a couple!

The perfect option when visiting Athens!

We can't say enough about how perfect the Secret Sunny Garden Getaway was for our visit to Athens for Homecoming and to see our daughter (and UGA football, of course)! Hannah is by far the most responsive and thoughtful host you will find here, keeping in constant yet unobtrusive contact and offering assistance to us. The rental itself is very comfortable and impeccably decorated, with a fun living area and spacious bedroom (and conformable bed). Location-wise, you are near some great restaurants in Watkinsville, and a quick 10 minute drive to downtown Athens - the perfect situation especially on busy weekends. Plus there are chickens in the back yard - I mean, what else could you want?! Overall, a great option for your Athens trip. Highly recommend!

Adorable + Cozy Stay

My husband and I needed somewhere to stay for a Game Day in Athens. This property was the perfect solution! It was out of the hustle and bustle of Athens, but close enough for us to Uber back and forth to the Stadium. It was absolutely adorable, cozy, quiet, and clean. We felt right at home! Communication was a breeze, and we even had cold beverages upon our arrival!! Hannah made sure to check on us frequently and made herself available. We are looking forward to staying again for another game day! Go Dawgs!

My husband and I moved to Athens from NYC in 2021. We both love hospitality and have been welcoming all sorts into our home for the 12 years we've been married. We've stayed in countless guest homes in the US and across the world and now it's our turn to host! We love travel, cooking, renovating and designing our home, and gardening. I think our love for these things will come through in how we've designed our hosting spaces.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

Our 1970s split level daydream is situated in one of Watkinsville's oldest neighborhoods. It is quiet and grown in with mature trees, gardens, and abundant wildlife! We enjoy seeing deer pass through the yard, birds on the feeders, and little chipmunks scurrying around. Our home sits on 1.3 acres and backs up to a large wood, which is visible from the private secret garden entry.

It's proximity to both Athens AND Watkinsville makes this an ideal location. Watkinsville is cute and quaint, quiet with lots of history and old homes...also a budding arts scene! Athens is young and hip, artsy, and has long been a major stop for a host unique artists in the music scene.

We moved here to still have access to some of the "weird" that the city used to offer us, but with the pace and space of a more relaxed suburban country life.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

Our home is in an excellent location, close to the Athens loop and downtown Watkinsville. A short drive to antique in Monroe. And a little over an hour to Atlanta.We are located just south of the Athens "Loop" and just north of downtown Watkinsville. It is a 5-7 minute drive to the Epps Bridge shopping area (Trader Joes, Wal-Mart, Kroger, and tons of retail and dining options), 2 minute drive to a Publix grocery, 6 minutes drive to downtown Watkinsville, 12 minute drive to UGA stadium, and ~17 minutes to downtown Athens.
