Good property out in the hill country away from town. Very relaxing. Only small problems like hornets in the corner by the front door, the shower not having hot water (but the tub did), and a mud dauber that could get into the cabin. Outside of the small problems, I would return for another stay. The quiet and calm out in the hill country was amazing. With the deer and wildcat sightings, so awesome.
My wife and I spent a couple of nights and love the atmosphere. Secluded is a good way to describe this property and it was exactly what we were looking for.You have great views from the firepit area of the hill across the valley and there are good views from the front porch. But, the best part was the peacefulness sitting in the mountain breeze and listening to the birds and nature. This is definitely a place to disconnect. Thanks Mrs. Seymour for sharing this cabin that your Dad built it was a blessing to us.Thanks also for how organized the instructions of check-in and check-out were.We hope to see you again soon.
Had a lovely romantic stay. The quiet drive through the hill country and the even quieter little quaint cabin was great. Check-in and check-out was thoughtful and explained in detail making it a breeze. Great place.
This simple but complete cabin allowed my wife and I to enjoy a quiet weekend away from the ratrace. The quiet and removed location also allowed us to have several wildlife encounters: deer, hummingbirds, jackrabbits, beautiful dragonflies and more. Perfect for an escape from the modern, but still all the amenities.
The cabin was clean and had the essentials. The renter provided great communication. The cabin is miles from any major road. It's serene and peaceful. Wild animals all around. It takes about 30 minutes to get to Fredericksburg because of the winding dirt roads.Consider the weather for this property. Bad weather could make the cabin inaccessible.
The cabin is one room and small. There is no kitchen sink but it does have a bathroom sink. Bring extra dishes or paper products. The tub had nice hot water but was a little dirty so I cleaned it. I enjoyed hearing the mourning doves and the beautiful hill country view. Overall I enjoyed my stay.
This was a fantastic place to stay! It was perfect for me as a solo traveler visiting a nearby horse barn for lessons. It was not only cute, but the amenities were perfect!! I brought a cooler and was able to fit 5 days of food in the refrigerator and freezer! The coffe bar was wonderful for a cup before heading out for a long day. The cabin was absolutely adorable Thank you so much for my perfect home away from home!
We had a wonderful time, the location is private and relaxing with the distractions of everyday life out of the way. The cabin is so cute and perfect for a weekend getaway.
Charming property with plenty of privacy. Excellent property for fur babies. Hosts were very accommodating and were very responsive. God willing, we will visit again.
Easy to get to. Property is well maintained amd lit up. Process on check in and check out was super easy! This place was was reallh nice.Highly recommended
This is the 2nd year weâve stayed at Dadâs Cabin. It is just what weâre looking for in a place to stay; rural, secluded, with all the amenities one really needs. Itâs fairly centrally located in hill country so itâs easy to get to anywhere you want to be. There was a burn ban in place so we didnât get to use the fire pit but we still enjoyed the peace after a day exploring the hills. Weâre definitely coming back so weâll see you next year!
Everything else was fine over there but my biggest reason to why I didnât give at five stars is because the Jacuzzi didnât take longer to warm up the water, and I was looking forward to using that. Instead of using that, me and my boyfriend only got to use the shower.. the Wi-Fi did not work there too by the way, so we had to run completely out of signal until we left while on the road back home, and then our signal came back up on our phones.
Dad's rustic cabin was a welcome secluded, quiet stay while still close enough to Kerrville and Fredericksburg. Unfortunately the day we chose to visit the Pacific War museum was the only day of the week it was closed (Tuesday). Be sure to screen shot directions or write them down. GPS and cell service is spotty, but worth the drive.
This is our third time visiting this cabin and just as great as ever! Itâs very secluded and gives you that real country feel the entire time! Highly recommend this cabin!!!
What a charming, beautiful hide-away! The cowboy cabin had everything you need for a comfortable stay. The decor was definitely cowboy themed and perfect for the setting. We'd love to stay again someday!
My Dad built this cabin himself even milling the wood out of fallen trees from Hurricane Katrina. My husband and I purchased the property from his estate and we would love to share it with you.
If you are looking for city lights and a big party this is not the place for you. Quiet and serene this little piece of land disconnects you from the day to day noise of cell phones and city. You will have minimal cell signal here. You have to find that sweet spot in the cabin to get a signal.
