Beautiful location right on the water, quiet, ocean breeze while reading on the porch (or just relaxing and watching the lobster boats), well-sorted cottage with everything you need (solar power is plenty for charging phones/laptops if you must), very clean, terrific responsive hosts, already looking forward to next year!

Beautiful, Relaxing, All-Around Perfect

Everything we wanted in a Maine coastal cottage. Quiet, beautiful views up the bay, clean, comfortable, well-equipped kitchen. Open the windows on the sun porch for the ocean breeze through the screens, or close them for the inevitable Maine fog. Off the grid but plenty of amenities (solar-electric lights, flush toilet). Lots of walks and hikes nearby. Photo is from the sun porch. Looking forward to returning next year.

Peaceful and Beautiful!!

We loved our stay at Two Jetties. This "off the grid" cottage was just what the doctor ordered.... literally! Quiet, peaceful and beautiful! Lunches at Chipman's Wharf and hiking the Bold Coast....... It will be hard transitioning back to city life.

Perfection

We had such a refreshing stay! The sunsets and stargazing from the cabin were absolutely gorgeous. We loved the comfortable house. We cooked most of our meals at the cabin, and found the kitchen was stocked and supplied. The gas range was lovely to cook on. The location allowed us to spend most days hiking at Acadia. The house was great for my 4 and 6-year-olds, who spent loads of time playing on the porch. Over all, perfect vacation!

The perfect spot

We stayed at Two Jetties for a week in mid-June. This was the perfect location - private and secluded with great hikes just a short distance away. The cottage is not terribly fancy, but it has been set up with care and we had everything we needed. It is evident that this is a place that has been well-loved throughout the years, and it is enchanting. It is comfortable and the views are outstanding. Combine this with the well-equipped kitchen, the wonderfully stocked bookshelves, and the sea air... well, you don't ever really want to leave. We felt so lucky to be able to experience Two Jetties. We hope to return during future summers!

Glorious Ocean

Glorious ocean view, nice ledges for the athletic (launching requires care) who want to kayak or swim, and off-grid charm get you started. The cabin (really a full house) library of Maine books is great. The rhythm of life here is endless kayak trips followed by bathing in the setting sun on the deck or in the cozy sun room, with a nice wood stove standing by for chilly evenings. Recommend that you arrive during daylight and get a couple propane lights turned on before dark. Whatever the weather, walk to the end of the road and check out the shoreline at the tip of the peninsula. McClellan Park, a couple miles back toward town, has magnificent ledges and great picnic spots; it's a nice walk from the cabin.

Pine and Brine!

Two Jetties Cottage is actually dreamier than its listing can fully convey. It was easy to spend hours on the deck in the rocking chairs in the sun or when overcast; the fog rolls in and you feel like you’re at the end of the world in a lovely cloud. Other highlights include: the swing, sun room, most completely stocked kitchen any chef could desire plus the coolest 1930s stove we’ve ever cooked on, cozy living room with very comfortable chairs, lots of warm and enjoyable blankets to choose from, amazing smelling pine trees. Navigating solar power was pretty straightforward and while there was no WiFi (which was a plus for us) we did have cell reception. Our only real challenge during our stay was that we rented kayaks and it was not easy to launch them. Otherwise, no complaints at all about Two Jetties.

Iconic Oceanfront Maine Cabin

This place was amazing! It is essentially your classic summertime Maine Oceanfront Maine Cabin experience. The historic features of the property were very interesting and a great experience to share with my 8 year old grandson. The propane lights and stove were fun. We booked a lobster tour and went to see the tidal pool and Schoodic point. We had lobster on the deck cooked by the local lobster pound, Chipman’s Wharf. This area is not a tourist trap but a working harbor town. Ellsworth was nice to explore, about an hour away. Bar Harbor is a similar distance. It is recommended to arrive before dark. Due to the distance we drove, we could not and it would have been better to get acquainted with the property in daylight. Sitting on the deck was our favorite part!

The cottage is as quaint as promised and a treasure to find

The idea of propane cooking stove, electric solar power and wood stove as well as remote location drew us to this property. We wanted a place to unplug and recharge. Having limited cell service and no tv added to the charm of “getting away” . We would highly recommend this property. The views were amazing and the sounds of the ocean were mesmerizing

Rare Experience

Two Jetties Cottage is a very magical place. Although it is rustic and remote- we were still extremely comfortable and had everything that we needed. Host and caretaker were completely responsive to our needs. The whole family especially loved the experience of unplugging, lighting the gas lamps and playing the wonderful records on the Victrola. And we could sit for hours and watch the lobster boats chugging by as they gathered up the days catch. At sunset we saw harbor seals feeding and at dawn we saw a few bald eagles swooping above. As a Chef, I was particularly impressed with the wonderful well-seasoned cast iron cookware. It was a treat to make our meals with them as well as on the vintage gas stove.

Magnificent

One could write a 20,000-word article and barely scratch the surface. Peace, quiet, serenity, nature and automatic decompression from the world. Step out onto the deck with the lights off on a starry night and be amazed. A great launch point for countless Downeast Maine adventures. Two Jetties Cottage is rustic off-the-grid and a perfect fit for us in our 3rd visit.
