JULY DISCOUNT! Romantic 2 BR 2 story w/mountain views and stunning outdoor space
Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains with easy access to wineries, breweries, hiking, biking, boating and fishing. Located on a 220 year old farm, the Guest House at Forest Hill features a professionally decorated interior with beautiful views of Mt. Pleasant from the upstairs porch. You can cozy up and read or have a glass of wine and dinner on the downstairs porch while enjoying the stars. Well suited for those who enjoy a well appointed space and an excellent choice for those who love to cook. You will find a nice bottle of wine on the counter and our own grass fed beef in the freezer when you arrive. For history buffs, The Guest House is a former "teachery" (where the teachers lived) for the first Rosenwald School in Amherst County.
The house was so comfortable and well appointed. The decor was perfection and the view far surpasses anything you can imagine. The quiet surroundings were peaceful and soothing to the soul. Thank you for allowing us to stay in this beautiful, historical and magical home.
I travel a great deal for work and have a good understanding of what makes for a comfortable stay. Having well appointed furnishings and quality materials lends to that feeling of cozy comfort.
This property is beautiful. The views of Mt Pleasant and the Sleeping Giant are spectacular. Very convenient to wineries, breweries, hiking, fishing boating and just enjoying the stars at night. A great place to unplug and unwind. But if you have to be accessible, wifi is onsite as is a smart TV. Just a reminder, that this is rural Virginia. The nearest grocery store is 20 minutes away. The Town of Amherst has several nice restaurants but if you are craving nightlife, Lynchburg and Charlottesville are about a 45 minute drive.
This cottage was the "teachery" of an old school that was built about 100 years ago. This is a very historic area. The pace is slow, the people are friendly and the mountains will take your breath away.
