Vimala Voga is filled with natural light, treasures from around the world, and all the amenities to make yourself feel at home. Walk through our private garden into a space that has been thoughtfully decorated with love. Our master bedroom has a California King bed with organic mattress and the second bedroom has a Queen with a desk for remote workers to enjoy. We are a one minute walk to a trail that leads to the dunes. The beach is 10 minutes from our door step through the dunes.
Great, cozy place, peaceful and quiet. Our 2 yr old and dog really enjoyed the place, and the proximity to the beach and town. Will definitely enjoy visiting again!
This is a lovely, well located place close to a unpopulated beach and to both Arcata and Eureka. The aesthetic is well curated. If privacy is an issue for you, you might need to rent the whole property, as there is a rentable Airstream a few feet away from the house and we could hear their conversations and had to calm our dogs when they entered and exited the common garden space. This is not noted in the description.
A beautiful, well maintained property. It was well decorated. It had all the kitchen appliances I needed to enjoy my stay. The fenced garden that the dogs could run around in was an added bonus. The delightful path directly to the beach was the final touch. This was the perfect weekend getaway. We will definitely be back.
This beautiful, cozy home was perfect for our trip to the Arcata area. We were literally steps from the dunes and beach! Our hosts provided a clean, nicely appointed and cozy home which we thoroughly enjoyed. We definitely recommend it and will come back some day!
We stayed here at the end of a 17 day tour of California that included most of the national parks. It was just myself and two kids ages 8 and 12.To be honest, it was a part of the trip that I had looked forward to the least given the other places we had been. However, it was my favorite part of the trip. We loved the house and we loved the beach and we loved the two cities nearby. We spent the mornings visiting various parks in the area, and then packed picnics down to the beach that we essentially had to ourselves. The walk from the house to the beach is about 10 minutes, but is an experience in and of itself. The plant life and the occasional wildlife we saw was amazing. Sunsets were such a peaceful timeâŠI might actually understand Zen now! The owners lived next-door and showed my kids some of the highlights of the garden, which consumed my 12-year-old who is a gardening enthusiast. Eureka was a fun little town that we couldâve spent more time exploring. We even lucked upon an outside concert the last night we were there. I wish we wouldâve booked longer as they were so much more to explore that we didnât get to. You will not be disappointed by this place!
We stayed two nights and enjoyed everything, including the relaxing setting, the spaciousness of the layout. The area was quiet...and only steps away to the sand dunes.
Very peaceful environment.

This tranquil home has wonderful light and is obviously greatly cared for. The vintage appliances, fireplace, and private yard were all a plus. It was very cozy for a rainy night. Thank you to Allison for being so communicative!
The house was beautiful and the garden area was amazing, I can't imagine how colorful it is when in full bloom. We loved the space in the house inside and out, the kitchen was amazing even though we didn't use it. We only were passing through for a night, but would love to come back and stay a while and use everything the house has to offer. We did get a walk in to the sand dunes and beach and it was lovely to have it so close.
We very much enjoyed our stay at the house. The house has clean airy rooms which is fab because we had rainy wintry days that limited our outdoor adventures. Itâs an easy walk through the dunes to the ocean which is recommended, whatever the weather. The kitchen is very well equipped for cooking which was such a relief as we last stayed at a place that had nothing. The house has a light-filled airy feel with skylights. The heating is great (a tad noisy) and thereâs a woodstove if youâd rather hear the sound of wood crackling. The primary bedroom has a king sized bed in a spacious room (lots of hangers for your clothes) and there is a second bedroom with a queen bed. The bathroom is a tad small but there are thick towels for drying off. Communication was great.
The host was very responsive and gave us the proper information needed for our stay. Check in was simple. The area was remote enough that you aren't bombarded by road noise. Eureka is really close and stopping to see the local victorian house architecture was really cool. The beach access is like going on an adventure but once you get to the beach you may be the only person on the beach. The house is beautiful and has cool instruments like singing bowls, a piano and a didgeridoo.
We stayed one night with a 4 year old and 7 year old, and stepping through their gate they said it looked "magical" with the flowers everywhere, swings and rings attached to a small tree, and the inviting yurt. Inside, they were immediately drawn to the piano and the bongo in one of the bedrooms. They loved the "gem" handles for the bathroom, and that the towel hanger by the sink was at their height. As adults, we were impressed with the abundance of light and feeling of spaciousness, the comfort of the couch and bedding, and of course the modern 60s styling of the kitchen. When we left, the kids said "adios casita, see you later", knowing that we would definitely stay here again in the future.
We loved pretty much everything about this place. Cozy, comfortable, beautiful, tranquil, unique, and to be honest the pictures don't do it justice. We will return!
