Calm Home next to Trailhead and Cal Poly

LOCATION: Our place is a two-story house ideally located right across the street from Arcata Community Forest. From here you only need a 2-min drive to get to Cal Poly Humboldt University. Close to Arcata city center, where you can explore the Farmer's Market at the plaza every Saturday.

PET: We allow up to two pets per stay, with a pet fee (*please include your pets in the booking*). Pets are NOT allowed on furniture. Please DO NOT leave pets unattended.

INTERNET: We pay for gigabyte internet service. Our place is perfect for remote working that requires video calls.

THE HOUSE: Spacious two-story house with a total size of 2,425 sqft. Can host 8 people very comfortably. Second floor: living room, full kitchen , dining area, sun room; 1 king bed, 1 queen bed, 2 twin beds, and 2 full bathrooms. There are a total of 15 stairs to get to the second floor. First floor: living room, kitchenette, 1 full bedroom, 1 full bathroom, pool table, arcade game, laundry room. This floor is also accessible from the garage without stairs.

BABY STUFF: We have a baby gate at the top of the stairs. Some baby supplies (high chair, stroller, rocking horse, Pack n’ play, switch covers can be found around the house or upon asking).

Guests have access to the entire house including the backyard. We have only exterior cameras at the property for security reasons.

Arcata Short-Term Rental Permit: #607310. The total price includes a 10% short-term rental tax that’s required by the city.

Perfect for a large family

We came to Aceata, CA for the Kinetic Sculpture race. Our family of 9 loved this house across from the redwoods. Everyone sat at the dining room table for family meals. We walked into town for race events and to visit Humboldt Pie. Everyone had a great time.

Excellent stay!

We loved our stay. Across the street from the community forest for many walks, close to town (Arcata is pretty small though), great game room area for teenagers, lots of space, big smart TV, and a great sunroom. Kitchen had everything we needed, and the beds were comfortable. We really liked this place and we will definitely want to stay again!

Quiet residential retreat

Located right off Arcata Bay, this nice residential home was perfect for our quick trip north. Right by hiking trails and still in the Redwood forests it was a quiet nice destination.

Magnificent House and walking trails

Eight adults who work in the healthcare field had a wonderful stay. We were so grateful for the walking trails among the ancient giants and the home nestled by nature. The soulfulness of the weekend was welcomed by all. Highly recommend this home.

We traveled here and met up with our adult children for a family vacation. The house was perfect, the location was exactly what we wanted. Each couple had their own room and plenty of space. We hope to be back again.

Special Home in Humboldt

We loved our stay! It had lots of room for 4 adults and 2 teens and the pool table is a nice touch. It’s close to Cal Poly and absolutely beautiful. Thank you!!

Lovely home next to a Beautiful Forest

Our family of five (1 high school, 2 college) plus a service dog and pet dog loved the house and its location. Right across the street is the Arcata Community Forest, with a gorgeous redwood trees and quiet trails. Every day we happily ran or hiked in the peaceful forest. The house was spacious with 2 kitchens, 4 bedrooms, 3 baths, 2 living rooms, a backyard for the dogs and a sun room for relaxing. The hosts anticipated our needs with games, pool table, street fighter arcade game, TVs, Alexa, yoga mat and roller, nearby attraction brochures, front combo door lock so no keys to remember, and all the kitchen basics. It's only 5-10 min to downtown Arcata with lots of cafes, restaurants and shops. Within an hour drive or so is Fern Canyon, Trinidad State Park, Avenue of the Giants, the Sequoia Zoo and redwood canopy walk, plus other great places to visit. The host had friendly, clear and fast communications. We'd love to stay here again for our next visit!

Hiked twice a day walking distance

The location was perfect, just cross the street and you’re surrounded by nature. The home had everything we needed. Spacious. We felt right at home. Communication with easy and quick. I would love to return and book the same accommodation.

Beautiful and relaxing place to stay

My family and I had a fun and relaxing stay at this wonderful property. It has a very cozy atmosphere, with the peaceful sun/sitting area on the upper floor and practically a whole apartment on the bottom floor. The location cannot be beat, with the trailhead to a beautiful, woodsy trail just across the street. Great place to walk the dog or go for a stroll, but long enough for a real hike depending on which branch of the trail you take. We also spent some time hiking at the splendid Redwood National Park, which is fairly close. In the evenings, we had a great time winding down playing pool and the Streetfighter arcade game downstairs. The home is clean and well-kept, and the host was very responsive, which we really appreciated.

Lovely Redwoods in Arcata

Arcata is a great town, and the house is located right across from the community forest trailhead. We'd happily stay here again on our next trip to visit our CalPoly Humboldt student!

I’m an Environmental Sustainability scientist living between Santa Barbara and Humboldt California. My husband John and I own this short-rental unit in Arcata, CA just next to the Community Forest and Cal Poly Humboldt.

Our family lives in Eureka/Arcata. We sometimes go fishing in Humboldt Bay, the ocean and the Klamath River, catching halibut, lingcod, rockfish, and salmon. Our house is right next to Arcata Community Forest, a perfect place for hiking, mountain biking or walking your dog.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

Our place is located right across the street from Arcata Community Forest and a few mins of drive from Cal Poly and downtown Arcata. It's a perfect spot to stay if you are visiting the university, the city center or to hike / mountain bike in the forest. We also have a beautiful sun room with great view to hang out with your family or friends!
