looks like a great deal, but ...

It is pretty much what you would expect for a discount price. All the wall fixtures were ripped out, so no place to hang towels or put toothbrushes etc. The window AC units were still in, although it was end of November, so we were freezing. However the owner was responsive and had John come in the next day who took out the AC units and hung an over-the-door towel rack. The front door locks needed new batteries and were not working until we alerted John, who took care of it. Neighborhood was rough and on-street parking was quite tight.

Good place to stay off the beaten path

Place matched description perfectly and fit our larger group well. Was very clean and seemed recently renovated. Little extra touches like a semi-stocked fridge was a pleasant surprise, although the lack of body soap in the shower was a bit of an unfortunate one. A bit of an interesting area, but did feel safe, and there is plenty of great food spots around. Thank you - would stay again if we are back in the area!

Great Inside, Scary Outside

I want to start by saying i loved the vrbo inside. It was beautiful, clean and felt like home. The first night was lovely and the neighborhood was quiet. The second night there was a shooting a few doors down at a house party gone wrong which prevented myself and other guests from entering the street or leaving the street. In order to leave that night or in the morning by car we had to provide ID to the cops. One of my guests who left the house a few minutes prior to the shooting was in her car and had to speed off to safety. Again I love the home but the neighborhood was a scary experience. Also the beds seemed to be full sized, not queen sized.

Mount Vernon Stay

Initially I was very excited about my booking based on the pictures present. Yet then came the notice of the checking codes alongside a google link to a picture of the outside appearance of the property that wasn't included in the photos, it was less than aesthetically pleasing. Nether less Vrbo stated I should check out the property in person because I may work it out with the property manager. I did find communication with the property manager to be courteous and efficient. Although there were a few towels and toiletry missing, the property manager made sure everything came to us immediately. I was dissatisfied with discovering that the property was on the 3rd floor at the last minute (that detail was sent with the code and not listed in the booking). We were delayed at check-out due to the code to door not working earlier than anticipated and carrying my families of 5 luggage down 3 flights of steps was tedious. Yet overall, I appreciated the centralized location to highways and access to getting to where we were attending a concert and shopping and eatery, everything in that department was very convenient.

Everything was well organized and comfortable. The neighbors were friendly and helpful. Easy access with the off-street parking and we had a great time - thanks again!

New third floor apartment, perfect for local stay

Stayed at this third floor apartment while working in The Bronx. It’s a newly renovated 3 bed 1 bath with full kitchen. The beds are extremely comfortable memory foam, and the kitchen is well equipped. On road parking only Would definitely stay again.
