The location of the house in proximity to Lucas Oil is great, but we were a little uneasy about the area. We arrived around 1030p, traveling for a kids sporting event and there were a lot of people outside kind of loud. The house has been updated and looks beautiful but we when we arrived the two window units upstairs were not on so the upstairs was super hot! When I asked the owner how the air unit works, he let me know there were two window units upstairs to turn on, and that helped 100%. However, then the main unit kept tripping the fuse, and the unit would turn off entirely making the main floor pretty hot. The owner responded quickly and said that itâs a new known problem but it was a pain, as it started to turn off about every 10 minutes at some points. It would have been nice to be made aware in advance, and/or discounted for the inconvenience. Other than the air issues, the place is nice and we had a good stay.
Very responsive owner and very stocked house. The upstairs windows units were definitely needed with this heat wave. We walked to the swim trials. Garage was nice. Only thing we couldnt find was a cookie sheet but otherwise just show up with yourself
Property was clean, spacious, and in a convenient area. Access was provided early which was nice since were coming from out of state. Our only issues were we expected use of the grill as it was advertised but it immediately ran out of propane and when we reached out to the property owner about it got no response! Also the back seating area was over grown and unkept which made it an eye sore. But overallâŠ.good stay!!
The property is in an area of Indy not far from downtown. However, we were not comfortable feeling safe enough walking to downtown. It looks to be a neighborhood that is undergoing some gentrification and trying to make some changes. At first, we were a little unsure of the safety of staying in the area, but we did not have any problems while we stayed there. When we arrived, we did not have the code for entry provided on time. We did contact the owner and he promptly provided the information. This house has been rehabbed and had plenty of rooms and beds available. There were minimal areas for seating and several stains on the couches and stools. There is only one shower which made getting ready for our size of group complicated. Both bathrooms are downstairs so it was cumbersome for middle of the night bathroom trips. The kitchen was clean and a nice size. However, the refrigerator did not get cool enough and we struggled to keep our food cold. We contacted the owners so that they were aware. We were planning on spending some time on the back porch, but the deck and the seating showed significant wear and broken pieces so we were unsure of the safety. We did contact the owner and provided pictures of those concerns. There weren't specific check out instructions, so we contacted the owners and he did get back to us with what to do. When we took the trash out, the can was already overflowing so we piled our trash on the top of the can. Overall, the stay was just 'okay'.
Our group was in for the Indy 500 weekend. The house was quiet and a nice retreat from the hectic weekend. It is also situated in a good location to get on the interstate or travel to Fountain Square.
