Mimaâs Mountain House with Mountain view/Creekside view
Relax with family & friends at this peaceful creekside mountain retreat.
The summit of The Priest can be viewed from the front porch. With a cup of coffee, thatâs where we start every day when weâre here.
The yard is large (2.5 acres) and is a great private place for games or a barbecue. There is seating around a stone fire pit for evening gatherings and a couple more chairs by the creek for unparalleled serenity.
The house is spacious with 5 beds (1 king, 3 queens, 1 full) and 3 full bathrooms. The open kitchen, dining area, and great room are perfect for families to engage and enjoy time together.
This beautiful stretch of the Appalachians offers so much to do within a short, scenic drive of the house. Hiking trails, skiing at Wintergreen Resort, local farmers markets and unique shops. There are 5 breweries, 3 distilleries, 3 cideries and 10 wineries all within a 25 mile radius.
I had an amazing stay at this home! The house itself was cozy, well-equipped, and exactly as described in the listing. Communication with the host was top-notch, super friendly, and responsive throughout. The host had several family games and everything went smoothly. Definitely recommend!
Cannot recommend Anne and Danâs place enough. The house is spacious, well maintained, and beautifully decorated. The location is a nice retreat from the hustle and bustle and we canât wait to return.
We enjoyed our stay. We wanted a quiet place for a family get-together to spend time with each other, play games, and just relax. We found that at Mima's Mountain House and we plan on returning.
Enjoyed the house and yard. Host provided lots of extras like coffee for days. Kitchen is stocked with basics. House was a favorite. Thanks for the memories!!!
Honestly, the best hosts we have ever rented from. We had a group of 10 in our late 20's and had the best time staying here. The house was so well stocked, clean, and the owners were the most responsive and went out of their way to help us. We enjoyed the firepit, the breweries and wineries nearby, and the large gathering spaces!
Great house for a stay in Nelson County. Plenty of space for a couple of families or larger group. Nice, flat and spacious yard with a fire pit and creek running by. Iâd recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the area.
Incredibly spacious and beautifully appointed, this house was a joy to visit, stay, and relax. The property is gorgeous and flat, with a safe, large fire-pit (with wood provided!), two porches to enjoy, and the reason to stay: the Rocky Run tributary to the Tye River along the property, with local craftsmanship seating. So relaxing! We saw deer and loved seeing some hummingbirds feed from the original porch! Even a neighborâs dog visited and shared love. The house has everything well-thought-through, and provided in luxury. You merely have to roll up with your suitcases, just like staying at a hotel, yet with ALL the kitchen and life supplies, all listed in their included PDF. The owners are quick to respond to any messages as needed, and the place is incredible that you likely wonât need to reach out. Looking forward to returning to this terrific Home Rental. Thank you so much for this great mini vacation for our family.
The house was amazing. We felt like we were at home. Everything that you would need and more. The views, the outside area and the location were perfect for a long Fourth of July weekend getaway. The host was easily accessible if anything was needed.
This home was one of my favorite Vrboâs I have stayed in. Plenty of room for 10 people with fantastic streams around the property. The house was very clean on arrival and communication with the owners was always prompt and easy. Next time we plan a trip to Wintergreen we will definitely be staying here again!
This place was amazing. Went up here for my 45th and it was so amazing. Plenty of rooms for family and friends to stay. Outside was so nice too. We plan to use this home again. Donât spend time looking at other listings, it is that good of an option. Book it.
Amazing home and rental experience. Beautiful large bedrooms and fully stocked kitchen. Really nice touches throughout! And really awesome follow up after we left. My son left his prized security blanket and the owner was so nice to send it to us when it was found. Highly recommend this rental for a beautiful mountain trip.
So good! Just what we needed as a family to disconnect for a few days. The best was the little stream on property in the morning looking at the blue ridge mountains drinking chai. Close to hikes and peace. Youâll love it. Incredibly kind and friendly owners!!!
Loved this home. We will be back. 15 minutes to Devils backbone and Bold Rock. Lots to do at the home. No neighbors to worry about. Dogs allowed! What? Next trip we will bring them for sure. Huge living space with huge dining table. Better than the pics.
My family was there for my husband's family reunion. Unfortunately, I personally couldn't make it due to an emergency with my parents. It ended up being just my husband and our daughter and her boyfriend (also her service dog) in this huge house. They sent me video's and pictures and just raved at how nice the place was! I am so bummed that I missed out but we do plan on renting again in the future!
Booked the property/home with friends for a birthday weekend. We had an excellent time. We got out to explore the area a bit, including a couple breweries, but also hung out on the property. It was nice to hear the creek and see the sun reflect on the mountains in the morning. We also enjoyed the fire pit in the late afternoon.
We brought our dog who was just as much welcomed as we were by the host. She enjoyed her stay too.
The house was well equipped. There wasn't anything we didn't bring or needed.
We hope to go back and explore more of the area and will do some hiking, fishing and potentially skiing.
Family getaway! Parents and four adult children. This was the perfect house for us. Large common areas and spacious bedrooms. Well-stock kitchen. Great, beautiful location.
Beautiful house with large bedrooms. Hosts really put a lot of thought into all the details that ensure that guests have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Very nice kitchen with great coffee options. We loved the fire pit area. Wish we had more time to enjoy the lovely property.
After talking to my family I realized that we all had a long weekend because of the 4th of July, so I suggested a little get away to the mountains. We found Mimawâs Mountain House and it was perfect. We live about 2 hours away from the property so it was far enough away without being to far.
The location was beautiful. The house is situated on a nice piece of property with no visible neighbors. There was a fire pit that we took advantage of and a babbling creek on the property which was lovely to sit by.
The inside of the house was clean, well kept, comfortable, well stocked, and very spacious. They even had treats for the dog ! We played games, cooked ( wonderful kitchen), took walks and just relaxed.
We went to Wintergreen one day and swam in a lake. Went to Bold Rock Cindery and had a good time. We even saw fireworks at the local High School.
We loved our time at Mimawâs Mountain House so much that we all agreed to make this an annual trip.
Great stay in Massies Mill. House is nicely renovated and the outside yard is beautiful. Nice views of the mountains and river frontage is great. Set up of the home worked perfectly for our family. Would recommend to anyone looking for short term rental in the area.
Love the home, the property and all the appointments in the home. So much space in the house, loved the bar and coffee stations. Treats and shampoo for the dogs, fire pit and so much more. Well worth a visit.
I would just like to start off by saying that this property location is fantastic, a nice big open and flat plot of land in the middle of the woods with a fire pit and plenty of chairs. The house itself is very nice - incredibly spacious bedrooms, clean, updated, nice appliances and kitchen ware. The hosts are extremely accommodating. We had several dogs in our group and the hosts left each dog a bag of treats, bowl, and a towel. All in all, I 10/10 recommend staying at this house if you are looking for a place to stay in the Roseland/Wintergreen/Nellysford area
When we started down this path, we wanted to create a space for family & friends to spend time together, enjoy moments, and make great memories.
The woman who inspired the dedication for this gorgeous retreat was Barbara, Danâs momâŠknown to her 18 grandchildren as âMimaâ. She had a green thumb and could always bring about life wherever she was. From her incredible garden in New York, to her pineapple pots in Florida, to her tulips and roses in VirginiaâŠMima inspired hope and love in everything she touched.
Mima was the matriarch for a family that loved gathering as often as possible to share stories, spend time together, and enjoy the company of loved ones. This mountain retreat is dedicated to her as the perfect place to experience the joy of these simple things.
