Just outside the quaint western town of Rochford and Moonshine Gulch saloon in the heart of 4 wheeler and snowmobile trails. Wildlife all around surrounded by peaceful national forest. Beautiful Deerfield lake if full of rainbow trout and just down the road. Trailhead to the black hill fun!! The road will be paved by the sturgis motorcycle rally and will be the only paved road between deadwood/sturgis other than the freeway through rapid city.
We really enjoyed our stay. The trails were right off the driveway which was very convenient. We enjoyed waking up to the views and wildlife every morning. Very had a very peaceful, enjoyable stay.
Great place to come back to after riding trails all day. Very well stocked kitchen. Many memories were made laughing around the fire pit or playing games around the table.
We had 4 couples stay and rode ATV in the area for 4 days. Beautiful home with plenty of space for all of us. Plenty of parking for hauling rigs. Cool little town of Rochford close by with bar/restaurant, two ice cream shops, population 8!, was very nice stop at end of the day or for lunch.
The house was an excellent choice for our group of friends. Plenty of space for 8 adults. We grilled, used the hot tub and sat by the fire. Good space to park 2 trucks with 2 trailers. Trails are close to this house.

Cabin is very secluded and private which is nice. It is well stocked with house supplies and lots for kids to do. It is a bit of a hike if you plan to do any sites in the surrounding area. Could use a bit of a deeper clean thoughâŠ. Lots of dead bugs laying around on all levels of the house. Otherwise nice place to stay.
It was a very pretty, well stocked VRBO. Would stay there again! My only suggestion is to move the lawn mower in the garage to the shed. It did make the downstairs smell a little like gas sometimes. But it is a wonderful place to stay!
Such an awesome cabin! No close-by neighbors (that you heard or saw) so you felt in the middle of know-where! Has everything you can imagine. Amazing fire pit area to share so many stories. Hot tub didnât work but Paul made it right with us. Good trails around the area. Large trailers wouldnât work or you would have to leave them down by the road. Would rent again!! Thanks Paul! Never did hear the blasting down the roadâŠlol
This cabin is beautiful! It has lots of beds, lots of living space, is very very clean, and the best stocked cabin (paper towels, napkins, shampoo, firewood, etc) we have ever stayed at. It is centrally located, so you can get to all the tourist attractions quickly, but it's also right on atv trails, so you can ride right from the cabin. If you want privacy, this cabin is for you. It is completely quiet, with no traffic, and the only neighbors were deer, coyotes, and birds. Since it is so dark at night, the star gazing was amazing, and during the day, the views from the peaks were beautiful. Paul was very easy to work with, and corresponded to any questions we had. Highly recommend renting from him. Thanks for everything Paul!
The host never gave us a phone number. When we got to the property the WiFi was not working and so we had no phone service. We tried emailing when we went on the trails and had service to ask for simple things, we did not have enough propane to make a meal, we bought our own charcoal so we could use that part of the grill. We also had to buy soap for the dishwasher. Minor things but still needed and no way of getting a hold of our host. Hopefully not giving us his number was just an oversight.
Thankfully we had no issues getting into the property! With no phone number that would have not been good. Overall it was a nice property. When there is no phone service, the WiFi is a must. We tried everything to connect on several different devices and just could not get it to work.
We love the peaceful setting for this cabin. Mostly we just hear the birds, and watch the deer. ATV trails are right outside your front door, there is very little traffic to the cabin. Great place to stay!
This is a wonderful, remote property. The description of the property was spot on. The amenities were fantastic, especially for our young kids. The zip line in the back yard, swing, basketball court, hot tub, fire pit, grill, were all used frequently. The layout of the house was ideal with the 3 levels and us being able to remain near the kids, but not on the same level. The property is very remote, which is what we were looking for. The only downside was all the gravel to travel in order to get to the paved highways. The great news is that they are working on paving some of the road which will be awesome once that is done and will make travel much quicker. The plus side is being able to see so much beautiful country. Very much enjoyed our stay and appreciated all the property had to offer!
The property is nestled in one of the highest parts of the black hills and is in the heart of the best 4 wheeling country. The wildlife live in the front and backyard of our home. You will see them multiple times a day. It is 1/2 mile off the newly paved road so itâs very secluded and the neighbors wonât see you or you see the neighbors. The hot tub is fun to enjoy the stars at night.
