Within the stunning Powder House Pass you’ll find the incredible Top of the Pine cabin, the perfect getaway for those looking to enjoy immediate access to the abundant recreational activities the Black Hills have to offer while enjoying the most comfortable amenities. Suited for up to 16 occupants, this five bedroom, three and a half bath cabin with 5 King Beds, 2 Twin bunks and 1 Full sofa sleeper has everything you’re looking for – from a theater room to a luxurious hot tub. From the moment you step foot in Top of the Pine, you will be blown away by the beautiful craftsmanship that has gone in to the cabin, which offers a modern, rustic getaway. Just moments away from a variety of ATV trails and 10 minutes from the Terry Peak ski area and historic Lead-Deadwood, this cabin is the perfect fit for the avid adventurer, centrally located so you can explore all corners of the Black Hills with significant ease.
Please do not bring any tents or campers to the property as they are not allowed. One of the perks of staying in Powder House Pass is that you will have complimentary access to the Community Building with meeting rooms, a kitchen, game room and outdoor patio with a year round heated pool and fire tables. A second larger unheated swimming pool and splash pad are available from Memorial Day through Labor Day! Please reach out for current hours of operation and building rules.

Everything at this rental lived up to our expectations. Nice quiet area. Only complaint we had was the hideabed was broken so the two kids had to sleep on the floor.

We had a great family Christmas! There was enough beds so everyone had their own space and the hot tub was a great addition! The kids loved the movie theater and the provided games. We will stay again!

Great home and neighborhood for Family vacation.

The check-in process for the vacation rental was a breeze! Everything was incredibly clean and the instructions provided by the host were so clear and thorough that we didn't encounter any issues during our stay and didn't need to contact them at all. The only minor downside was the condition of the larger community pool. It seemed a little cloudy, which might have been due to needing to be cleaned or needing an adjustment to the pool chemicals. However, the area surrounding the house itself was spotless, beautifully maintained, and very easy to access.

Just Perfect

This was the most well appointed VRBO I’ve ever stayed in. Such a wonderful weekend. I also greatly appreciate the flexibility of the property manager to allow us to change dates last minute when COVID hit our group. Will definite return next time we are heading to Lead / Deadwood.

Incredible cabin stay for a family birthday / reunion!

What an amazing cabin!!! We could not have been more pleased with our stay for our dad's / grandpa's 70th birthday weekend. We were able to comfortably fit 8 adults and 6 children with everyone having a bed. The place was spotless and had everything we needed, in particular the hot tub which was a lovely treat after a day of skiing! Furthermore, the proximity of this place from Deadwood / Lead / Terry Peak was ideal. Our only suggestions would be to have a more accessible TV guide since it was a bit difficult to figure out the channels (we were trying to watch one of the football playoff games and ultimately were able to, but only after a few tries). That being said, once we had it up and running the downstairs theater room made for an amazing place to watch the game all together! 10/10 would definitely stay here again. Thanks so much for hosting us!

The perfect family ski vacation

The house was beautiful and tastefully decorated. There were 12 people in our group and everyone had their own bed. The house was adequately stocked with towels and extra blankets. The kitchen was comfortable and fully equipped. We went skiing in Terry Peak just a few minutes away. In the evenings the teenagers watched movies and series in the Theater Room, while the adults enjoyed their own entertainment in the living room area or hot tub. There were many restaurants in nearby Deadwood. Could not have asked for a better property for this experience.

Great vacation home

Really enjoyed the property. Comfortable beds and clean rooms. Would love it more if it had some outdoor games like basketball hoop, or bean bag toss. Great location too!

Great getaway

We had a great time and really enjoyed this home! Perfect for my 12 immediate family members. The beds were very comfortable and the space was perfect for eating, relaxing and having entertainment! Only concern we would mention is the 2 pools at the community center need to be cleaned more often. Our family all experienced hair sticking to them while swimming. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Perfect Christmas

Wow!! Amazing property. Quiet subdivision and breathtaking views. This was the perfect place to spend Christmas with our kids. So much room and great gathering spaces. The big table was great for nightly card games and the theatre room was great for watching Holiday movies. So much to do within a short drive too. Snowmobiling, sledding, Mount Rushmore and then to come back to a warm fire and togetherness. Probably our most favorite Christmas. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Beautiful Property with perfect location

This home was beautiful. The decor was unique and gorgeous. An abundant amount of extra blankets and pillows which was nice. The main areas of the home were clean, but needed a good deep cleaning. My son found bubble tape gum from a previous guest under chair. Bugs in light fixtures above dining table. End tables and headboard in basement rooms very dusty. 3 of the movie theater chairs did not have power to them or recline. One of the lower level mattress was very wore out and you rolled to the middle of bed. The grill was extremely dirty and we had to clean 2 inches worth of black grease out before using. Overall, we had a great time. We felt comfortable and welcomed! Perfect distance to pop over to ski for the day. We would come back 🤗
