Escape from the city come to this villa ideal for relaxation close to nature, Jacuzzi. Two fireplaces. Internet access and WI FI . Illinois and Vermillion river only minutes away. The perfect place for your getaway and unforgettable experience ! Only minutes walking from hiking trails .
Villa is located inside Grand Bear Resort complex. However, WE ARE PRIVATELY OWNED. WE DON'T HAVE A CONECTION OF ANY KIND WITH GRAND BEAR LODGE AND OR GRIZZLY JACK'S RESORT. WATER PARK PASSES ARE NOT INCLUDED
Rustic log style furnishings. The generous 1,800 square foot Villa sleeps 8 with 2 bedrooms, 2 bath, comforting fireplaces, televisions, a patio, 2 balconies, washer/dryer, kitchen & dining area.

The kitchen is complete with all major appliances dishwasher, microwave, coffee pot, single cup coffee maker, toaster, dinnerware, eating utensils and basic cookware. To maximize your rental experience please consider bringing any special items you may need. There is a 24 hr convince store located inside the resort lobby, should you forget something.

-The Master bedroom features a king-size bed, pull out twin sofa sleeper, fireplace, TV, private vanity and whirl pool tub.
-The Second bedroom features 2 queen size beds, TV and balcony.
-Folding bed available first floor.
-Free WIFI access
-Special rates when booking 7 nights or more.

House keeping services are not provided for stays shorter then 7 nights. Guests are encouraged to take advantage of the full size washer and dryer to launder the existing towels and linens for a fresh supply.

Should you feel more is needed while on your stay please feel free to visit the General Store located inside GrandBear Resort.

Great location close to Starved Rock. The condo was spacious with 1800 square feet and the kitchen was very well stocked. I would recommend this condo to anyone

Perfect weekend getaway

Overall, the space was perfect for a family stay. Clean, outfitted with all your needs. Locally placed to enjoy the State Parks, Grizzly Jack, and local shops downtown. So glad we stayed here.

We stayed here because we have a wedding to attend at Starved Rock Lodge. The proximity to the lodge and hiking paths was great. The property is an end unit on a quiet street, and there was plenty of space to walk our dog and beautiful views. The beds aren’t the most comfortable, and the carpeting was worn and dated, but the unit is clean and spacious, and had everything we needed for our weekend stay.

Overall we truly enjoyed our stay and would’ve enjoyed staying longer. Loved the condo and Martin was super accessible and easy to work with. If I was going to change anything, it would be for some coffee so that we could make a cup of joe in the morning. I guess that’s my only ask. Super place and area. Would stay and hope to stay again.

Great weekend stay!!

Great condo! It was just as listed - super clean and comfortable. Everything we could need and the host was very responsive and proactive in communication. Close to town and hiking trails. Really a great place to stay - we are ready to go back already!

Grand Bear Resort in March

The unit is very spacious. Both bedrooms have balconies and there is a deck downstairs that looks on a small creek. Enjoyed the wildlife. Utica and Ottawa, the two closest cities, are quaint and nice places for dining. We didn't use the waterpark but what fun that would be for little ones.Martin is extremely quick to respond.

Exactly what we wanted!

Although the unit could use updating and TLC, none of these could take away from what was ultimately 2 great nights for my family! It has everything you could want to unwind and take your mind off of things. The views from the room were decent…beautiful with the snow we woke up to this morning. We will definitely look to stay again! We are locals who have often wanted the opportunity to stay on site at grand bear and just enjoy.

Perfect Weekend Hangout

Some friends and I were looking for a place to meet up for our annual weekend get together, and we came across this property. It’s perfectly located if you want to get out to either state park (both Starved Rock and Mattheisen were practically down the road), but there’s also more than enough at the property to be able to just hang out and have a good time. Side note: Martin was great. He communicated everything I needed to know for the stay, and made himself available if I had any questions, but beyond that he let us be. I’d definitely stay here again!

Holiday Getaway

First, I'd like to mention that communication with Martin was easy and speedy, which I greatly appreciated. My family and I went out for a holiday weekend and enjoyed some short hikes at Starved Rock. There was plenty of space for us and we cooked most meals. Given the proximity to the state park and nice cabin atmosphere, we would rent again, though I figure I'll mention a few items that weren't quite as expected and will likely be fixed soon, so I do not anticipate it being an issue for others: there was a missing button on the jacuzzi panel (could still be used for a warm bath; notified Martin and he's getting it fixed) and the latch on the bottom sliding door does not lock, though there is a pole stopper to keep it closed. Two days prior to our trip Martin sent PDF map/instructions for our reference and an agreement to sign, which included a note that the fireplaces are only for use between I think October and April. We weren't planning on using them in July, but I figured I'd mention so that others are aware. Thanks for the wonderful space!
