Located in the very popular Movie Colony East neighborhood, Casa Chia is an updated 3 bedroom 2 bathroom Mid-Century house that embodies everything Palm Springs, including fun decor and gorgeous Desert landscaping. The home is close to downtown and only two blocks to 2 supermarkets, Starbucks, Donut Shops, McDonalds, Taco Bell, and lots more shopping and food options. Any stress you arrive with should melt away once you catch the unsurpassed, panoramic mountain views from the huge backyard paradise, which includes a remodeled sparkling 30-foot-long pool, 8-person spa, plus gas grill, fire pit, chaise lounges, colorful umbrellas, day bed, and much more. This prime location is a fantastic starting point for a hike or bike ride around town and offers everything you'll need for an unforgettable Palm Springs getaway.

OUTDOOR AREA

This is why you stay at Casa Chia! Just outside the kitchen, you'll find the pergola-covered patio. Fire up the gas grill and dine alfresco at the glass-top table for six. There's an adjacent dining table for an additional four, so plenty of outdoor dining accommodations. Take a refreshing dip in the brand new (2024) remodeled, sparkling 30-foot-long swimming pool, or a rejuvenating soak in the eight-person spa. Sip cocktails around the fire pit at night, or simply lounge in any of the many seating areas located throughout the enormous, private backyard, all while taking in the unsurpassed mountain views. Endless possibilities—you're on vacation!

LIVING AREA

The home is professionally cleaned and sanitized between each guest's stay. The living room features a long, comfy sofa, chairs, lots of books & board games, and a 55-inch Samsung smart TV with free access to local networks, HBO Max and Sling TV channels. Use your personal credentials to access streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and more. Our high speed Wi-Fi is complimentary. We have loads of tourist brochures & restaurant menus, and you can check out our guide for local dining recommendations.

KITCHEN & DINING

The kitchen has everything you'll need to prepare hearty meals, including refrigerator, gas stove/oven, microwave, dishwasher, pots & pans, dishes, glasses, coffee maker, toaster, electric tea kettle, blender, utensils, sugar, spices, coffee filters, and more. When it's time to eat, gather at the dining table off the kitchen or dine al fresco just outside on the pergola-covered patio overlooking the remodeled pool & spa.

BEDS & BATHS

The home sleeps a maximum of six guests with a total of three bedrooms. The primary bedroom offers a California king bed and en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower. French doors lead directly from the primary bedroom out to the private backyard oasis and pool area. The second and third guest bedrooms each offer a queen-size bed. The second hallway bathroom has a tub/shower combination.

EXTRA AMENITIES & MORE DETAILS

Guest amenities include complimentary high speed WIFI, Central Heat & Air Conditioning, Washer & Dryer, Iron & Ironing Board, Blow Dryers, and fans in every room. Newer double-pane windows throughout.

THE LOCATION

The home is less than two blocks from supermarkets, Starbucks, McDonalds, Dominos, Donut Shops, Wells Fargo, AM/PM gas station, Walgreens, and so many more stores and food offerings. And you're an easy walk, bike ride or quick Uber to downtown Palm Springs where you'll find award-winning restaurants as well as quaint shops on Palm Canyon. Or try your luck at the popular Spa Resort Casino.

There's plenty to do, from hiking trails & Mid-century home tours to the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway—an unforgettable 2.5-mile ride up the San Jacinto Mountains in the world's largest rotating tram car (a must!). We hope you enjoy your stay at Casa Chia and leave Palm Springs with a lasting memory of a wonderful time with family and friends.

Some Basic Rules and Things To Note:

1. OCCUPANCY & AGE REQUIREMENTS: There is a maximum of 6 overnight guests per city of Palm Springs Vacation Rental Ordinance. The primary responsible renter must be 25 years or older and meet the host at check-in to verify government issued ID (Driver’s License or Passport).

2. POOL & SPA HEAT: Spa heat is complimentary. Pool heat is optional for a fee of $69/day. Contact the host after booking to request pool heat, which is recommended between the months of October–May when the water temperature drops well below 60 degrees. The total heat fee must be paid separately from your booking fees to the host via Venmo or Zelle at least two days prior to guest arrival. Don't worry, we will remind you a week before your arrival regarding pool heat option. Pool & Spa use hours are between 7 am to 11 pm.

3. PETS: We love our furry friends and allow a maximum of 2 DOGS (sorry no other animals). We charge a flat fee of $49 per night for up to two dogs. You must select the pet option when completing your VRBO booking. Guests who arrive with an unregistered dog or other pet, or bring an animal onto the premises anytime during their stay without having paid the appropriate fee or made other arrangements with Host will be denied access to the home without refund.

4. PROPERTY ACCESS: This home utilizes a front door digital lock that requires a unique code for each guest to enter. The code is reset after each guest's stay so you don't have to worry about a previous renter still having access. You will receive your access code via email or text on the day of your check-in once your rental agreement and City of Palm Springs Good Neighbor documents have been signed (see below) and government-issued ID has been verified.

Also, there is a Ring doorbell/camera at the front entry door and a driveway security camera, both of which record video and audio so we are able to check-in guests remotely when we can’t meet in person.

5. DAMAGE WAIVER: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a flat-rate, non-refundable damage waiver fee as low as $59, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). The Damage Waiver covers Host expenses for up to $1,500 caused by accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as Guest reports the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a costly traditional security deposit but does not cover intentional damage or that caused by misuse or recklessness.

6. RENTAL AGREEMENT & CITY DOCUMENTS: You will be receiving a City-required short term rental agreement & documents outlining house rules and City of Palm Springs Good Neighbor ordinances that will need to be signed (digital signature via Docusign) before your stay is fully approved and front door access granted.

Wonderful stay
We had an absolutely wonderful time during our stay! Gerry, our host, truly went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable experience. From providing fantastic recommendations for unique bakeries like Carousel Bakery to familiarizing us with the city's short-term rental regulations in a positive and neighborly manner, Gerry's hospitality was exceptional and greatly appreciated. The property exceeded our expectations in every aspect. The backyard and pool were simply amazing, providing a perfect retreat for relaxation and enjoyment. The kitchen was impressively well-stocked, making meal preparation a breeze, and both indoor and outdoor dining areas offered a delightful ambiance for sharing meals. The indoor spaces were tastefully furnished, providing comfortable lounging and dining options for our group. One suggestion for improvement would be upgrading the dishwasher, as we found it slightly lacking compared to the rest of the well-appointed kitchen. However, this was a minor inconvenience considering the overall functionality of the kitchen. We probably cooked more than the average guest. As with other Vrbo rentals in the area, there is some occasional airplane, but we found it not to be disruptive to our overall experience. The airport activity seemed to be well-managed, and any noise was minimal and brief, certainly not enough to disturb our sleep. We highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a comforting stay in Palm Springs.

Our favorite place to stay ever!
This home is just wonderful! Just perfect mid-mod decor- very cheerful! Comfortable beds! Every amenity you could possible need or want. The backyard/pool area is fabulous! Beautiful pool & hot tub (which we used every day!), and lots of places to enjoy the sun and read. It's located in a great place - close to everything in Palm Springs. The owner was fantastic! Walked us through the property on check-in and kept us informed and was so wonderful! The care they take with this lovely home is so evident and really made it the best place we have stayed in Palm Springs! We would definitely stay here again!

Winter Haven in Palm Springs
Casa Chia is a cozy home with all the amenities for indoor and outdoor use. It is near grocery shopping and a short car ride to downtown Palm Springs. The most impressive part of our stay was the host, Gerry, met us on arrival and walked through the home. During our stay, we had a number of questions for him. Thanksgiving Holiday with the family
Our family recently had the pleasure of staying at Casa Chia, in stunning Palm Springs, California, over the Thanksgiving Holiday and let me tell you, it was an absolute dream come true. I have to commend the amazing host, Gerry. From the moment we arrived, he went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and ensure our stay was nothing short of perfect. His warm welcome and friendly demeanor instantly made us feel right at home. Gerry's dining recommendations were spot on! We tried a few of his suggestions and each meal was a delightful experience. The highlight of this property, however, was undoubtedly the pool and spa. The crystal-clear waters and luxurious amenities provided the ultimate oasis for unwinding and soaking up the desert sun. We spent hours lounging by the pool, sipping our favorite drinks, and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. Furthermore, Palm Springs itself has so much to offer. The hiking trails and horseback riding experiences were nothing short of unforgettable. The stunning natural beauty of the surrounding mountains left us in awe. We were able to recharge our batteries while immersing ourselves in nature. Needless to say, our experience at Casa Chia and in Palm Springs was nothing short of exceptional. Poor air conditioning and neighborhood
The house was clean and nicely decorated. The backyard pool/spa area was idyllic. These positive features, though, were marred by other issues. The owner had the thermostat locked at 76°, which was inadequate - even at night in April. When the air conditioning did cut on, it sounded like a jet turbine in the attic. The house next-door was in decrepit condition with an overgrown yard. An apartment complex was across the street. There was traffic noise from the busy street three houses away - particularly with the windows open at night. Then in the dawn hours, sleep was disturbed with open windows by jet aircraft taking off and noisy birds. The mattresses were not comfortable.

We parted ways with our management company as we have found that managing the property ourselves gives our guests as much personal attention as they desire as well as instant access to help when they need it (no being put on hold listening to really bad music). And we've poured our heart and soul into every detail of this home to make your stay in this incredible desert community one of the best and most memorable travel experiences of your lives. Phillip and I are super responsive to our guests who can call, text or email us anytime.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

The obvious winner here is the HUGE backyard with a 30-foot long pool and 8-person spa. There are also several lounging areas, including chaise lounges, daybed, firepit, and plenty of chairs & tables. Plus, total privacy in the backyard paradise! And those mountain views look like a giant photograph from every corner of the property. Also, as mentioned above, the homeowners personally manage the property so guests don't have to deal with an unresponsive management company.
