Idyllic remodeled cottage on the shores of Black Cat Island on Winnipesaukee

Although less than 10 minutes from Center Harbor restaurants, shops and amenities, as you drive across the bridge onto Black Cat Island you’ll know you’ve arrived somewhere special! This idyllic Cottage is sited only 35' from Lake Winnipesaukee and the views are spectacular. Enjoy stunning sunsets from the screen porch, and you may also see the famous M/S Mount Washington cruise boat go by. The Cottage has been remodeled and the kitchen, dining area and living room are an open concept with fantastic views of the Lake. In the living room, enjoy nights by a cozy gas fireplace. There is also a flat-screen TV with DVD player. There are three bedrooms, each with a closet, and two bathrooms. There is also a washer and dryer. Follow steps down to the waterfront where there is a small 12x10 sunning and swim dock. The dock and waterside platform are provided for guest’s relaxation, sunning and swimming only. The dock is not suitable for boat tie-up and may be used for boarding and disembarking boats only. A boat up to 20 feet in length may be kept on the provided mooring just off the dock. Cottages like this one are a rare find on Lake Winnipesaukee. You’ll want to come back year after year! Please note: the swim raft pictured in several exterior photos belongs to the neighboring parcel and is not for guest use.

Please note: Sheets and towels are NOT INCLUDED with this rental. If you would like to rent sheets and/or bath towel packages from At The Lake Vacation Rentals, the cost of sheets (including arrival bed making) for this home is $100.00. Towel packages are $12.00per person. Please let us know at the time of booking if you would like to rent sheets and bath towels as availability is limited.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We really enjoyed the home, the access to the lake, swimming, cooked in kitchen. Would suggest bringing water shoes as the entry to the lake is a little rocky. Very convenient to shopping, but quiet location for us and our two marrried sons and their wives. We would definitely rent this home again!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family of five had a great time at Lake Winni in August. We found the kitchen stocked well and the grill and appliances were clean and newish. The location on the lake was fantastic. Close to town and in a very quiet neighborhood. The dock/swimming area gets a lot of wake so not ideal for little kids without a mat or floating dock. The mooring worked out fine for our boat but the lack of having a kayak/canoe to get there was a nuisance. Because there is no AC, and we had a hot week, even nights required all fans working hard. To that end, we would recommend updating the very old box fans to newer (and cleaner) models. The windows were new and the screens were great!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our vacation on Black Cat Island was peaceful and restful. The lake and Mountain View’s are spectacular. The water is crystal clear and idyllic, although the swimming area is very rocky. We saw bald eagles, loons, great blue herons and an American mink. The cottage location is ideal. The beds and furniture are tired and need to be updated as they were not comfortable. The microwave, gas grill and outdoor chairs need to be upgraded as well. Only 2 plastic outdoor chairs were provided. Other webbed chairs under the deck were old. The area offers many water activities. We loved various boat rides. Wolfeboro, Gunstock, The Loon Center and Castle in the Clouds are very nice and accessible. Lake Winnipesaukee is absolutely breathtaking and a beautiful place to vacation.
