Beautiful Property, Fabulous Location
My husband and I rented this beautiful home for two weeks, and we were joined by another couple for the second week. There was plenty of room for all four of us to spread out if we wanted to and several options to spend time together in the house for meals, conversation, areas, lounging by the pool, etc. all of the beds were comfortable and each bedroom had its own bathroom with shower. The house is located in a busy area, but is VERY private.
The house is within walking distance to a couple of good restaurants, small grocery store, and a pub, and of course great beaches. We walked from the beach in front of the house all the way down, about two kilometres along the beach. Best to do this at low tide but doable at high tide as well.
There is a narrow one-way road between the house and the beach, and if you continue walking down this one-way road for about 10 minutes, you come across a market that is on every day, and is about 1 km long. There are vendors, restaurants, shops, mostly souvenir type retail, but still enjoyable to walk down and stop for lunch at one of the many Italian or other restaurants. Our favourite was San Martino, overlooking the ocean.
From the house location, you can drive to several wonderful small towns and take a tour on the Bengail Caves.
Cons - there were extra charges to have the swimming pool heated to 82° and to use the air conditioning, which in the summertime is a must. We had some plumbing issues and always seem to be short on towels.
