3Bd, 1 bath camp on Frye Island close to Beach 6 with screened-in porch!
Wake up in Vacationland with your coffee on the screened in porch, the sound of birds and a possible deer sighting in the yard! Sleeps 8 comfortably and has parking for 4 SUV/compact cars. Centrally located on the island and close to the most popular beaches, community center and hiking trails. Relax and recharge at a favorite Maine getaway.
This is an old-style camp in a great location on Frye Island. Less expensive than waterfront property but just a five minute walk from Beach 6 which is one of the best on the island, particularly for families. Also walking distance from the Frye Island cafe. The camp is clean, kitchen very well equipped, the owner happy to take phone calls to sort out any problems. There was a lovely welcome basket of local produce. All in all, a good experience.
Our family had a wonderful week on Frye Island! Our grand children brought their bikes and could ride safely and independently around the island. They enjoyed golf, tennis, and swimming. There are several beaches on the island but we decided we loved the beach just down the road from the camp the best. We loved the well equipped and comfortable camp. The screened in porch was a gathering spot for conversation and movies after dark. If needed, it is a very quick ferry ride off island. The little store had wonderful ice cream and some essentialswell. The restaurant at the ferry landing was fun and the kids could play games while waiting for food We are looking forward to another visit next season!
Great camp with plenty of room, we loved the screened in porch. Close walk to community center and down to the beach. Beds were comfy and ac in the bedrooms was a plus! Lots of property for your dog to run around on too. Host is amazing definitely recommend!
The owners are the best part of this place--always available and accommodating, super communicative, and
the linens have that super clean feeling like someone actually washed them at home. When we asked if they had any kind of a mixer they brought over their own personal Kitchenaid stand mixer!!! They called it a camp (not as finished as a cottage or a cabin) and that feels right. The place itself has AC in three rooms, including the main room, and super convenient to the ferry/store and also to beach 6. Furnishings are basic, with comfy chairs on the screened porch and a big couch in the LR. But it is also very rustic, to the point of being unfinished. None of the rooms have a finished floor, instead it's just painted particle sub-flooring, which you can see because all door sills have an inch plus rise. We did have an issue with mice that were coming in through a hole in the floor under the sink but we made them aware, they brought traps, and said they'd fix the hole, which they probably have by the time you're reading this.
Designed and built in 2002 by our late patriarch, our Frye Island home is a true dream come true for our family. We hope you love and enjoy it as much as we do.
