Rare find with full length driveway in the city! A 1906 charmer decorated by a real Southern belle. A stone’s throw from the city’s best restaurants, the stunning skyline view from Gas Works Park, and within walking distance of houseboats and most major corporations, there is no end to the options for work or play. Garden views from every window. Sprawling porch. Quiet solitude in the middle of the bustle. Singing birds, original artwork, a porch swing, shady trees...the best things in life!
Mint Julep is a 1200 sq foot single family home set on a rather-large-for-the-city pastoral lot. The entire first floor, driveway and yard is for you to enjoy! Over the last 10 years she has little by little moving towards the modern era. From the stately front porch to the tranquil yard you are invited to chillax without sacrificing convenience or comfort.
Each room has been lovingly appointed with antique Scandinavian modernist as contemporary farmhouse furnishings. Pacific Northwest artwork graces the walls. There is a story behind each. If curious, just ask! The porch has two very comfortable vintage adirondack style chairs, a foot rest, small table and a porch swing. For vacation or for work, Mint Julep provides. Share a romantic meal while sitting out front and watch the world go by. The living room has my grandmother's original (!!!) Danish couch and chair, a large Roku television, and a terrific gas fireplace. Want some hygge, anyone? The dining room can be your work-from-home headquarters by spreading out on main table with its full garden view or the kitchen nook. The wifi is zippy so no worries there. Bedroom 1 has a king size bed and en-suite walk-in bathroom (accessible for all ages and abilities). Both bathrooms have heated floors should you like, and grab bars for safe entry and exit. Bedroom 2 has a queen mattress with a neighboring tub/shower combo and a Roku tv. Both bedrooms have generous closets and luggage racks to keep things off the floor.
The kitchen has an in-closet stacking washer/dryer, a convection oven/microwave and a cook’s Kenmore convection oven. Because it’s Seattle you’ve got three coffee options! The breakfast nook welcomes you in the morning with its cozy territorial view of the yard. There are additional amenities tucked away in the closets and drawers like fans, an iron, a vacuum, laundry baskets, extra pillows and blankets, etc.
Detergent and dryer sheets are provided, as well as hand soap, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner.
A Brita is provided to minimize the environmental impact of individual water bottles. I always leave a bottle of wine and a snack basket full of goodies and some simple breakfast fixins.
The lower kitchen shelf has some odds and ends you may need if you forgot something. Extra linens and towels are scattered around in drawers.
Games can be found in the hutch in the dining room and on shelves in pink guest room closet.
Summers can get hot around here. There are portable AC units in the rooms. I or my neighborhood friends may stop by to water outdoor plants, mow grass or take the garbage out. Sometimes I may ask you for some help with a package arrival or the garbage cans. I live elsewhere and it’s hard for me to get there sometimes in the city traffic.
If you are interested in the house for a corporate event, dinner, photography shoot, intimate small-scale wedding or reception, please send me a message!
Thanks for staying at Mint Julep and come back again soon!
