We loved our stay here! It was very clean & the hosts are very responsive! You do have to go through some water to get to the public beach, but it’s shallow and not a big deal as long as you’re prepared! We would definitely stay again!

The house was beautiful, clean, and fully stocked. The private pool was great for the kids, as well as the golf cart. It was convenient to everything, the walk to the beach was kind of tricky, but we figured it out! We had a great time!!!!

Loved the home and host. We should have asked about beach access because we had to take the golf cart to the specific property entrance and then wade across Eastern Lake to the beach.

As you mentioned, the golf cart route and wading across Eastern Lake is something that can happen occasionally, especially when rain moves through—the lake naturally opens to the Gulf during these times. The good news is that the water remains super calm and safe for all ages. Great house with even better location. Had a few things come up that needed attention and when we contacted group, responses were quick and issues were addressed timely. Hope to return next year.

Beautiful house

The house was gorgeous. The pool was nice, small. It was not exactly easy access to beach, but having the golf cart was a definite plus. The beach is close. There are coffee shops, ice cream, convenient store close by to take the golf cart.

Overall our stay at Eastern Hideaway was excellent. House was adorable, spacious and accommodating for a large family. Lots of kitchen supplies for cooking for everyone in the family. We had a great time hanging in the pool while watching college football on the outdoor TV and the accessible beach was beautiful! There were some minor house issues on arrival which were promptly addressed and repaired.While the beach is close, access isn’t particularly convenient if you have a large load and little kids as the only public beach access makes you traverse a body of water connecting to Eastern Lake. Lugging babies and toddlers and wagons full of beach items not ideal. For families with older kids and adults, not really a big issue. Having the LSV was clutch in getting closer to the beach and lightening the load. Just some small things to consider if you have little ones or lots to carry.We did really enjoy our time and made lots of fun memories! Thanks for hosting us!

It’s also worth noting that Eastern Lake is one of South Walton’s rare coastal dune lakes — a truly beautiful and protected part of nature. These lakes naturally filter and refresh the surrounding waters, helping keep our beaches clear and clean. The calm, shallow outflow is also generally very safe for little ones to splash and play in. We had a great time here. The house is very nice. We had an issue with the internet when we arrived on Saturday and they came out on Sunday to fix the issue. During the week the internet kept going out intermittently, so a bit disappointing. The beach access is not a two minute walk and not easy to get to. If you are interested in bikes they have to be rented. The golf cart did break down so that was a bit inconvenient on the day we wanted to use it. The golf cart had not been maintained. And there is construction happening all around. One day two guys pull up in a truck and park outside the front door. I go out to check and they say they are burying a cable. Kind of weird. The pool alarm is annoying also and no way to disarm it, so just know that every time you walk in or out of the house you have to push a button so the alarm doesn’t go off. You can hear all the neighbors setting off their pool alarms. It was a great week with our family.
