Welcome to Hideaway on the Bay — a cozy beach cottage in the heart of Kye Bay, just 20 seconds from the sand. Whether you’re traveling with kids, dogs, or just a good book, this warm and pet-friendly home offers the perfect mix of character and comfort.

Inside, you’ll find two bedrooms plus a double pull-out sofa, a renovated bathroom with a skylight above the shower, and an updated kitchen with a central island and new appliances. The enclosed front porch is a favorite feature, ideal for morning coffee or quiet evenings.

We’ve stocked the home with books, board games, and beach toys for younger guests. There’s also a high chair and pack-and-play for families with little ones. For dogs, we provide a bed, bowl, and waste bags — and the fenced backyard backs onto trees for added privacy.

Additional amenities include a propane BBQ, electric fireplace, and fast Wi-Fi. You’re walking distance to a beachfront playground and just a short beach stroll to Air Force Beach. Whether you’re watching the Snowbirds fly overhead in spring or enjoying a peaceful winter retreat, Hideaway on the Bay offers simple, memorable comfort year-round.

Lovely spot- great location!

Location is literally steps away from one of the nicest beaches. Only short drive into town, shopping, dining, and ice cream! Great location to visit Comox or Courtney. Property was exactly as listed, with many comforts provided (beach towels, toys, fans, fully stocked kitchen). Just note, location is not walkable to any amenities, so a vehicle is a must.

Character cabin on best beach in Comox. Spacious 2 bedrooms. Well stocked kitchen. Spa like bathroom with lots of hooks. Steps from beach access. Big beach towels, beach mats, beach chairs and toys. Everything you need for a beach vacation.Communication with hosts was fantastic. Would definitely recommend staying here!

What a charming spot! We seemed to have arrived in Comox on the first day of summer and it was delightful the entire time. Our host was very helpful and the cottage had everything we needed to enjoy this peaceful, beach community.

Spring solitude

I found the Hideaway to be a relaxing and quiet place to spend a few days. It had everything we needed, and it didn’t feel impersonal like many rentals do. The cottage delighted me with its rustic and well thought out interiors. It’s just the kind of place I enjoy the most.

Great stay!

We loved our time at Kye Beach, this cottage was exactly what we needed to have a great family time. Bedrooms were great, we loved the skylight bathroom and the kitchen and living area allowed us to eat and cook together as a family. Everything was clean and comfortable. Would stay here again for sure!

Always a great stay

This is the second time we have stayed here. It’s a lovely cottage. It’s a clean, well-appointed spot within steps of the beach. You can see a bit of the ocean from the porch, too! Chris is quick to reply and a wonderful host. We hope to come back again.

Kye Bay Comfort

More than enough room for us (3 adults) Comfortable in everyway. Lovely cottage, view of the beach, pretty back yard and patio. Good kitchen , great stove with 2 ovens. Large TV which was great for hockey games. All in all a treat, we would stay again.

What a perfect little oasis

We loved staying at the cottage. Close to the park, open concept for family hang outs indoors. The tub was fantastic, especially for cars for our two year old lol thank you so much for the wonderful stay. Will definitely be coming back

Cozy little cottage steps away from the beach!

The cottage was so spacious, with a gorgeous kitchen and bathroom! It slept our party of 5 very comfortable. I loved doing Yoga in the front sunroom with a view of the ocean waves. Kye Bay is such beautiful beach so many seals and cool birds . Chris was a great host as well! Will for sure be coming back :)

Charming & cozy beachside cottage

We spent an extra long weekend at this property and just loved it. The cottage was comfortable and spacious with plenty of room to cook and lounge. The shower with skylight was such a special treat. The location can’t be beat. Close to amenities and downtown Comox. Most importantly, Kye Bay is right across the street. We had long beach walks every morning at low tide and it was truly spectacular. Lastly, Chris, the host, was so kind, accommodating and very responsive to questions. I can’t wait to visit again and have already recommended this cottage to friends : )

Beach with tide out is the bonus . Relatively uncrowded and friendly neighbours. Speed limit should be 30.

Cute and Comfy

We'd never been up Island before so our booking here was a shot in the dark. Overall we were pleased. The location was across the street from beach access with chairs, mats & towels were all available for our use. Also the fact that the back yard was fenced was a plus since we had our dog with us. The cottage itself was quite interesting, clearly a remodel of an old structure that looked to be done by a do-it-yourselfer. I loved the glass ceiling over the shower and the tile work was unique. The kitchen had a combination of new appliances with an old or retro refrigerator. It would have been nice to have ice in the freezer. It was great to have a filtered water tap at the sink except that it dripped continuously. I loved the openness of the floorplan in the main part of the cottage. The kind sized bed was super comfy. The front porch was a great place to sit in the morning with a cup of tea. Overall I'd recommend this location.
