Borrego Springs Mid-Century Modern Gem - Step back in time!
This cool mid-century modern house is right on the De Anza Golf, a close drive from the Anza Borrego State Park and a quick jaunt from small town or Borrego Springs. Almost all of the architectural details have remained untouched since mi this home was built in 1957 and we love it that way. Almost all of the rooms have doors that open on to a large covered patio that runs the length of the house.
From the original pink bathrooms to the still-working oven and stove, we love the vintage details throughout the home. Sitting around a campfire while viewing the starry night sky is the perfect ending to a day of hiking in the nearby Anza Borrego State Park. Or, put on some Sinatra and mix a groovy cocktail made with fresh squeezed grapefruit juice made from the trees in the yard.
This property exceeded expectations by a country mile! It was a beautiful, spacious home, with a collection of charming vintage items. I had a wonderful time!
We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful mid-century house in Borrego Springs. The home was not only stylish and well-maintained but also incredibly comfortable. It had everything we needed to relax and enjoy our time. The kids especially had a blastâit was the perfect place for family fun. The serene desert surroundings and unique architecture added so much charm to the experience. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful and memorable getaway!
We have enjoyed several places in Borrego Springs, but this house owned by Sandra K is one of the most laid-back, comfortable and easy to enjoy places in all of the area. The house is a classic, and if you want to enjoy nature and quiet, privacy and ease of access, this is the house! The check in is simple with a lockbox and its a home with everythng you need! This is one of our favorite places! Thanks again Sandra for keeping the place so classy, its a perfect place for relaxing and enjoying nature all around. We can't wait to return again!
The home is well maintained and has a fantastic layout with patio views and lots of natural light. It perfectly accommodates a larger group with plenty of shared space and nicely distanced rooms for privacy. We did a good deal of cooking and the kitchen was generously stocked. We also enjoyed the other amenities: games, bikes, record player, and nice towels and linens to name a few. Sandra was communicative and kindly mailed back some toys that were left by our friendâs kiddo. Would happily stay again.
Very nice property! Sure, everything is original, but it adds to the character. Communication with the owner was good and the home was clean. It does kinda smell older but opening the windows aired it out. We'd stay there again.
An excellent overall stay. The patio was my favorite place to hang out. The entire house was fully equipped for anything our group of 4 needed. I loved the neighborhood and Borrego Springs is a quiet community that has plenty of places to dine outside. We brought our bikes and enjoyed the flat safe biking available throughout the community. I will be back and with the right friends and family would love to stay here again.
When I'm not traveling, I like to hang out in my Borrego Springs MCM home or at my farm in north central Oregon. I love the snow and ski as often as I can. I'm passionate about Mid Century Modern homes and furnishings. My husband and I are recent empty nesters and semi-retired farmers who love hosting guests at our properties.
I grew up in a Mid-Century Modern home and, when I walked into this house, I fell in love...initially with the Texas limestone fireplace full of fossils...but later with everything else. I don't subscribe to the idea that "old" things should be discarded. I love it that almost everything in this house, from the pink toilets to the stove, is original.
