Enjoyed staying in this place. Accurate listing. Was able to fish and saw 2 manatees pass thru waterway behind house. Was nice and quiet. Felt like we were camping in the wilderness! Did not cook there but could have. Places to eat require a little drive. Have to be able to climb steps if staying here. Would stay here again.
Unfortunately many of the attractions, i.e. beaches, in Spring Hill area still closed for repair
House good, bed comfy, nice shower. Unfortunately kayak launch at house not what we expected. Too bad much of beaches in Spring Hill still closed for repair. Thank goodness nice beaches not too far away, about an hour south.
The only thing we did not enjoy was the water damage to the home, especially the flooring. The home was clean and had everything we needed. The host was wonderful! Loved the kayaks and river! Overall great stay!
Our family needed a quiet break after the holidays to reconnect with nature and each other. This location and slower pace of lifestyle was the answer. Orit had everything ready for us and was immediately available for our questions. We would come back again!
Very clean place. Nice and quiet. Everything you need is provided except a mixer. The host are amazing and are quick to respond. Enjoyed our stay and highly recommend. Didnât get to use the kayaks but they are available for use. Enjoyed seeing the stars from the large deck and listening to the owls at night.
The property was really.nice but we had the feeling we were watched constantly due to hearing people's conversation via the ring cameras around the property
The house was beautiful and loved the wrap around porch, the beds were comfortable. The couch was comfortable. TV was great. It was just a really nice place overall, I enjoyed my stay would do it again.
Cozy and beautiful home with access to the river. We took advantage of the kayaks and had so much fun! The host was wonderful and was always in communication with us. I recommend this property 1000%
I was very impressed. Great location on the water. We saw sting rays, dolphins , one small alligator and a lot of manatees. Plenty of fun things to do . Property had everything you needed, very clean, management answered all of my questions very quickly. Great food and entertainment! Definitely would stay here again.
Great time with family. We all had a blast cruising the river. We saw manatees and tons of fish. The house was comfy and clean. Outside was great had a fire every night and there was lots of room in the yard for the kids to play. We will definitely be back. Host was great.
Tranquil and clean, was perfect for us as a couple for 4 nights. No kids. Orit, the owner, was very responsive to all questions and was ok with our having two dogs with their cages. House came complete with towels and basic toiletries, river kayaks, life vests, three bikes, some fishing poles. Yard was spacious under trees for the dogs, car parking under the raised house was handy during rainstorm. Kitchen had pots, pans, appliances, dishes, etc Home had lovely high wrap around deck with table and chairs. Being very close to Weeki Watchee river attractions, shopping and able to launch kayaks from raised dock in the yard, the house location was perfect for us. A five star experience for us and very likely to return again in the future!!
This was the perfect getaway. The home was everything myself husband and two kids (16 & 9) needed for a vacation. I could sit on the porch all day and just watch the fish but we never ran out of things to do. My teen and I kayaked every morning to the spring and back. I was worried about getting the kayaks up ourselves but it was a breeze. Both kids enjoyed walking across the street and swimming in the spring water that was just for residents. Only once was there more then just us there. One day we took the hour or so trip to Busch Gardens and another trip to Honeymoon Island and Shell Key Island (here we had several playful manatees swim up to us. It was like a dream). Other days we went up to the beach maybe 5-10 minutes away where we saw so many dolphins! The kids enjoyed just riding the scooter and bike around the neighborhood. The beds and couch were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. Made for a super enjoyable trip and we will be back!
Orit checked in with us & was so flexible since a hurricane was coming at the beginning of our stay. She truly cared and wanted us to be able to enjoy our vacation. Great property! Nice master suite and 2nd bedroom has bunk beds for up to 4 kids. Living, dining, and kitchen are very open. The sectional couch can easily fit 10 people and there is an extra couch in the living area too. Have a meal on the deck! Sit on the dock and watch the fish swim! Mullets jump out of the water continuously! The house had everything we needed. Laundry detergent, toaster oven, extra charging ports on the master night stand, iron and ironing board, life vests, kayaks, body wash, and more! The neighborhood is very safe and the residents are very nice. I spoke to several residents on our daily walks and they were kind to offer places to visit and other tips. Being on the canal, we fished and kayaked almost everyday. We took an airboat tour which was great to see the water areas you cant drive to or get to without a boat. We visited Pine Island beach. Its beautiful water. Not too deep and we even got to see a dolphin! One canal over is the Salt Creek, which is clear water and a spring swimming area. Kayaking down the canals & near Mary's Fish Camp we got to see manatees multiple times. There are beautiful birds and lots of wildlife basically in your backyard. Lots of locally owned restaurants within 10 minutes of the house. Grocery stores and other shops are about 10 minutes away. Great location!
While it is certainly neat to be right on the river and have kayaks and other outdoor equipment, this property is a little worse for wear. There has been clearly been a flood; the flooring is buckled in more than one place. The kitchen was poorly appointed; there isnât even a sheet pan to make cookies or roast vegetables. No measuring cups. The knives were particularly cheap, rusty, and ineffective. The A/C WORKS! A little too well. It was a bit chilly and kept lowering even though we would bump it up to 75. And thereâs only one spare cozy blanket to supplement the thin comforters. Beware the master bed; it looks like it was handmade and the edges are brutal. I caught my leg in the small negotiable space and scratched it up pretty good. No fans in the bathrooms. Only one stopper for two bath tubs. The bed was reasonably comfortable and there is a pack n play, which was nice. My kids enjoyed the Playstation; we enjoyed the Roku. All in all, functional, but not exceptional. Just ok.
The house was cute. It had everything including 2 bikes. We didnât use the kayaks but there were plenty. The floor inside is in need of a replacement. There was clearly some sort of flood or something. The floor is buckled and is a trip hazard. The batteries for the lock on the front door died. Luckily, the host was very responsive and sent the neighbor over with two new batteries. My son changed the batteries out (we had a screwdriver in our vehicle). The only real NEGATIVE is the amount of yellow flies which cannot be controlled. They bite! I had an allergic reaction to them but nobody else in our party did. I still have bites on me that continue to itch nearly 3 weeks later. Overall, this is a nice property for a family to enjoy.
The head springs are about 500 feet away, the house had everything to make it a home away from home, and I just loved the open plan. We had a wonderful time and would rent it again in a heartbeat
We booked our stay for 4 nights but we enjoyed ourselves so much that we decided to stay one extra day. We kayaked the river several times and rode the bikes throughout the neighborhood and the people seemed very friendly in the area. I would definitely recommend a stay at this home. I would also recommend kayaking down the Weeki Wachi spring. Very beautiful!!
The property was very clean had everything you'd ever need definitely would rent again in a heartbeat best part was seeing tge manatees play out back for a few hours
