We stayed for a week with our three kids (11, 15, 17) and had an AMAZING time! Found plenty to do within 60 minutes, and also enjoyed 3/4 days just hanging at the house.
The beach was better than we imagined, watching the freighters was a family affair, the ferry was a breeze and evening fires on the sandy beach was a favorite.
We also saw the aforementioned red fox on several occasions, which was cool.
We brought our kayaks and loved taking them out. Would love to plan a return trip!
This was our second trip to Sugar Island and we loved it just as much as the first time! No complaints, love the seclusion, the private beach and freighter watching! â€ïž Thank you to Christine for sharing your cabin đ
We stayed for a fall weekend to enjoy the colors snd celebrate our daughter's 31st birthday and her engagement! It was lovely and the owners thought of everything!!
Had a wonderful weekend! Very nice place to stay! Comfortable, attractive, cozy and a beautiful view! We saw so many freighters go by right outside! It was amazing! The Host is very accommodating and returned answers to my questions right away. We all had a wonderful time! We would highly recommend a stay here. Our hubbies had so much fun waiting for the freighters!
My husband, daughter & I loved staying at this cozy cabin! It was the perfect destination to get away from it all! The ferry rides back and forth were a breeze. We loved the beach and watching all the ships go by! The cabin had everything we needed. Beds were comfy. The owner was easy to get a hold of for any questions we had. Highly recommend!
This place was everything my family was looking for and more. This was a great home base for watching and chasing freighters. Place was neat, clean and as advertised. Owners did a great job of communicating with me in the weeks leading up to our rental time. Only downside was that we wish had a longer stay. Next time we will stay longer for sure.
The cabin was wonderful and everything was just as pictured in the listing. The beach is less than 100 feet from the cabin and the sunsets over the water were spectacular! It is very peaceful and being able to sit outside for breakfast was great. We loved being able to bring our dog with us, and he enjoyed exploring his new surroundings! The cabin was a good size for our family of 5 (including 3 teens), and dog! Christine was a great host, and I enjoyed communicating with her. She was always very quick to reply to any texts I sent.
We stayed there for 4 days and made our plans of things to do before we arrived. We visited Tahquamenon Falls and took a trip on the Soo Locks Boat Tour, as well as just explored some of Saulte Ste Marie. There really is nothing to do on Sugar Island, but enjoy the peace! Be sure to grab a bite to eat from Clyde's Drive-In at the ferry dock before getting back on the ferry to Sugar Island! My son said "The Big C" burger was the best burger he had ever tasted!
