Cozy home located right on the McKenzie River!

Enjoy the views from the newly built deck, or go down to the grassy lawn to relax, have a fire, and access the river directly. The deck is 400 sq ft with an expandable table and 6 chairs. Perfect for eating, working, happy hour, and that morning cuppa Joe. Go down to the soft, private, grassy river bed with a blanket for a nap or to read a book. Wave to the boaters, rafters, kayakers, and ducks as they roll by on the water. You can also cast your own line and launch your own kayak right from the yard.

There are many hiking trails, public boat accesses, natural hot springs, and charming restaurants nearby. Eugene is 45 minutes away and Sisters is just an hour away!

The interior of the home is bright, comfy, and modern. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the cooking gadgets a chef on vacation could need. The living room has high end seating and a fold out full-size couch. The small table in the dining area folds out for dinner, crafts, puzzles, etc. The bedroom has an exterior door right onto the deck.

This was the perfect get away! The River was amazing and beautiful ! We could not have asked for a more perfect week. The house is well stocked and a. wonderful space for a romantic get away for two. our host Matthew was great! Define plans for another stay soon!

We love this river cottage!! We spent the majority of our time out on the deck enjoying the river views and sounds, very relaxing. We also enjoyed the shallow water in front of the cabin, and we were able to put our camp chairs in the water and enjoy having our feet in the river without fear of the current. The cabin had everything we needed and it was very clean and nicely furnished with an amazingly comfortable bed and living room furniture as well, not your typical rental furniture. LOVED our time at this house on the McKenzie river!!

Wonderful stay for 3 nights at this spot right on the river. It was clean, bed was very comfortable, deck was incredible and hanging by the river felt great. About 30ish minutes away there are several beautiful hikes to explore! Would stay again for sure. It is right on the McKenzie Hwy as listed on the address, so there is traffic noise but the river, gorgeous views, privacy, sunshine and singing birds make up for it! Host was very communicative and check in and check out was clear and easy.

This cabin on the river is a very good choice for a couple looking for a place to just kick back for two or three days. Works great for two, might be tight for four people. It has everything you need for your stay. We have had so many rentals that had terrible kitchen supplies, that we now take our own. Not needed at this cabin. Everything is very nice. It is very comfortable and has a great view of the river from the deck. I gave it a Good rating instead of Excellent only because of the highway noise, which is annoying. But, overall is it an excellent get-away spot.

Beautiful Setting

This was the perfect place for us. It was clean, comfortable, and well stocked. We loved the deck and the views. Even on a hot day, the deck was comfortable in the afternoon shade. There is lots to do and see in the area. We would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful cozy river cabin

Great views of the river directly in front of the cozy cabin. Kitchen is well stocked. Comfortable furniture and bed. Great spot for a couple or two or three friends. Can’t wait to come back.

Midweek getaway to the river!

Beautiful view as described. Goes along with traffic noise from the highway, but all the houses along this part of the river have that to deal with. Comfortable bed, my most important criteria! Everything you need for a nice getaway.

Just what we needed

Cabin was not only well stocked (kitchen, bedding, toiletries), but the owners definitely thought ahead and gave added luxuries (LOTS of power strips and plug ins, contact case and solution) that we weren’t expecting. Very thankful for this weekend and thankful for the owners allowing this to be open for renting. Highly recommend!

The accommodations were cozy and well-appointed, making it the perfect retreat.The owner was absolutely amazing—very attentive and quick to respond to our messages, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The highlight of our trip was undoubtedly the stunning view; waking up to the peaceful riverside scenery was a dream come true. Overall, our stay was relaxing and rejuvenating. Reconnecting

This place was perfect for my husband and me! It’s so peaceful and comfortable. The proximity to several of Oregon’s scenic byways was another bonus. The owners were terrific and very welcoming! If you’re looking for a quiet place to disconnect from the rat race, this cozy cottage is just the place to do it!

This home is excellent. Located right on the beautiful McKenzie River. The property is exactly as advertised. The hosts/owners have gone above and beyond to make sure the home is stocked with everything you may need. They even have items that you may have forgotten to bring for yourself. We will definitely be returning for another stay.

Our Second Stay at the Cottage on the McKenzie River

Matt answered our questions and solved a tech problem by personally responding when VRBO had a glitch. The cottage has every convenience, the wifi is great, the bed is so comfy. The super host touch of ingredients for S’more’s with wood for first a few feet from the River is such a treat! The river sounds fill the relaxing days at this A+ stay. We loved returning and would not hesitate to come back again.

Comfortable and gorgeous

The deck is lovely and the river delightful. We were thankful for the central AC when it was nearly 100 degrees days. The kitchen was well stocked as well. The driveway was a bit steep and graveled, which made it a bit more difficult to unload our car than we anticipated. Furniture comfortable, and BBQ was great as well.

Great spot on the McKenzie!

We spent an amazing few days in this home while exploring the McKenzie River. With amazing views of the river from the deck, we enjoyed unwinding here at the end of each day. And there are so many fun things to do in the area…we went fly fishing in several spots on the river, enjoyed visiting Proxy Falls, Clear Lake, Leaburg Fish Hatchery and so much more! Loved that the home was so well equipped and there was really nothing that we needed to bring with the exception of clothes and food. Matt was a great host and the communication was great! We will definitely be back for a future stay as the only negative is that our vacation had to come to an end!

Great view and accommodations

My wife and I stayed over a long weekend. The house is well cared for, clean and well decorated. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need to cook. Only downside was the outdoor BBQ was out but we managed. There’s an upper deck with tables and chairs and a lower area right off the river with fire ring. All with outstanding views. We brought a trailer with our motorcycles, there’s limited parking for this set up but there’s parking for two vehicles in the driveway. It can be precarious because the proximity to the road so back into the stall. We will likely be staying here again.

Perfect little get away

This little gem is only 30 minutes from Springfield making it an easy escape. My family of five (kids 20 months - 13 years) loved the experience. All three kids explored the yard, playing in the stream and finding the perfect stick. My husband and I were able to relax inside with a fire while the kids played on the extensive deck. We went out for a great dinner at Takoda's Rainbow just down the road and roasted marshmallows over a fire by the river for dessert. Our evening concluded with games they had in the house. My husband and I were able to wake up with a view of the river before the children did and enjoy coffee on the deck. They were thoughtful in every step of the way creating this VRBO from the chairs that convert for small or tall people, the convertible couch bed and even the Snicker's coffee creamers and selection of teas. The decor was nature and river themed without being cliche and the whole atmosphere was light and bright. We will definitely return!

We both moved to Corvallis just over 20 years ago from Blacksburg, VA. Matt is a scientist at HP and Andrea has her own financial service company. Naturally, we fell in love with all the outdoor activities and love staying in different locations, particularly with a view.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

Every time we stayed in a VRBO we'd look at homes for sale in the area and said "some day." Well, the day came by accident while looking through homes for sale on a cold, snowy day. We drove to see the property and it was love at first sight! It is small, but the deck we just added doubles the space, particularly the space with the view! We put in stone steps to go down to the grassy area right on the river's edge. It is relaxing and beautify!

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

We are lucky to have strong cell and internet connectivity, so we can work on the deck with the amazing view! We can put a chair right in the river and read a book while the water cools our feet. Kayaks and floats can be put in right from our yard. The house is light and airy. Cozy, but with all the amenities.
