Big Bay Getaway offers you an experience that none of our other homes can. The meandering tree lined driveway leads you to a beautiful custom built 3,500 square foot home with magnificent views of the lake and large SANDY BEACH, right out the back door! Enjoy the views from all the main areas of this open concept home. Perfect for a family getaway or couple's retreat! Huge deck with new lounge and dining seating. End the day around the fire pit...smores and more!

Lake Petenwell is the 2nd largest inland lake in Wisconsin with 23,000 acres, featuring excellent boating, swimming and fishing. Explore and take in nature at the Necedah National Wildlife Refuge with visitor center, walking paths, lookout towers and bicycling this 44,000 acre park. Only 10 minutes to Nekoosa HoChunk casino, 15 minutes to the WI Rapids, and 45 minutes to the Wisconsin Dells attractions for a full day of activities for the kids. Or take a day trip to Spring Green, Frank Lloyd Wright center, and the House on the Rock. Relaxation or water-front activities ... the choice is yours!

If you are bringing your own watercraft or renting local plan accordingly as there is not docking overnight on Lake Petenwell. You will have to trailer your watercraft each night at the property. Property has plenty of space for trailers and boat launch is minutes from the home!

Pets fees: $150 per pet per stay with a REFUNDABLE $500 damage deposit.

Welcome to your perfect lakeside getaway! This beautiful home offers the ideal balance of comfort, style, and breathtaking views. As you step into the main level, you'll be greeted by an open-concept kitchen, dining, and great room, complete with a cozy fireplace – the perfect space for gathering with loved ones. The floor features three spacious bedrooms, including a luxurious primary suite with a king-size bed, private bath, and access to a private deck where you can enjoy serene lake views. The second bedroom offers a queen bed, while the third is furnished with two twin XL beds, ideal for family or friends. A full hall bath completes this level.

Off the kitchen, a sunroom invites you to relax in plenty of comfortable seating while soaking in more of the stunning lake scenery. Step out onto the deck for a peaceful retreat with beautiful vistas.

Venture downstairs to the lower level where you’ll find a spacious rec room perfect for movie or game night. This inviting area features a large TV, another cozy fireplace, and a comfy sectional couch for ultimate relaxation. With a selection of games and a table for friendly competition, this is the perfect space to unwind. The lower level also includes a generous bedroom with a king bed and twin XL bed (or, if you prefer, the bed can be reconfigured as three twin XL beds), as well as an ensuite bath for added privacy and convenience.

Annual Family Trip

This home is absolutely gorgeous. We enjoyed the large lot and the privacy. There was plenty of room for our family of 8. The only disappointment was the water. It was full of green algae which looked like paint, so no swimming for us. I have read that this is normal for this time of year. Some dead fish, which made the flies very annoying, but it did not damper our fun! I would recommend this home. We had to call the agency twice and they were quick to respond.

Gem of a Lakehouse

This house is beautiful! Nestled in the woods for just the right amount of sun and shade overlooking the lake! It was so relaxing to hang out on the deck & beach or by the fire pit. We especially appreciated the gate on the deck to keep the littles and the dogs contained. Very spacious rooms for our group of 12.

Fun Lakehouse Getaway

Easy check in process, beautiful home on the lake. Boys enjoyed fishing on the dock, we took our boat out on the lake and swam in the lake. A great experience overall.

Lake House Get Together

Spacious, immaculately clean house on the lake in a quiet, rural setting. Extremely relaxing experience with our immediate family and grandkids and family friends. The house is very well maintained and well appointed. The app description was accurate and, if anything, understated how wonderful this house is. It exceeded our expectations in most every way. We had a wonderful stay hanging out at the beach in front of the house and some others nearby, kayaking, swimming, biking, running, walking, cooking and grilling. We’d love to return next year.

Nice, modern clean house. As a neighbor I find it inappropriate that the owners advertise a private beach house. It’s a public beach behind the house- the shoreline plus 100 feet is owned by the WAPCO, the WI power company. My husband own a home AND lot on this beautiful lake and respect all who share the beach areas . a different descriptive of the property would be appropriate and truthful.

Beautiful Clean House

We enjoyed our stay so much, the house is incredible! The rooms are spacious, we loved the open kitchen and living combo plus the big basement. We were able to watch the Packers play on the big screen in the basement. The deck is so nice and peaceful to sit on and listen to the waves. The yard has plenty of space and the driveway was great for the kids to ride bike and scooter on. The house was clean, well stocked and everything we were looking for. The kids loved playing in the sand and walking along the trails. Only downside was the boat lift was for a pontoon and didn't work for our Lund but that was not a big deal since the launch was less than a mile away. We highly recommend and can't wait to come back!

Beautiful Getaway Cottage!

A beautiful getaway cottage with a great view of Lake Pentenwell. One of the few all sandy beach front properties available. Wi-Fi could use improvement, it does not reach too well into the great room. Only Television is streaming, no cable or satellite dish. Overall a beautiful experience, plan to again.

Family fun

The house was modern and clean. Very comfortable. The beach made swimming fun. If you bring a boat be sure to inquire about a lift since boat has to come out of water at night. Great place for whole family

Big Bay Getaway

This was a beautiful home with a lot of amenities that far exceeded our expectations. Wonderful view from the main living area. Comfortable deck furniture for relaxing with a cup of coffee in the morning. Only feedback that I can think of for making it better would be by providing kitchen dish towels & a toaster. I would definitely recommend this rental to friends.

Incredible Cabin!

The pictures don’t the place justice, it is even nicer in person! Loved how close to our own beach area and it was a sandy bottom, no seaweed. Thanks for an incredible place to stay

Beautiful house/ great location

My family and I stayed for a week in this house. It’s beautiful and right on the lake, the location is also perfect. We brought our boat and there is a free launch right in the bay so it was super easy to put it in and out every day. The house is very nice and the property is exactly what we wanted tucked into the woods. We are going to rent this house again next Summer as soon as they allow us to book it. See you next summer

Memorial Day Weekend 2023

Beautiful newly built lake home with plenty of privacy. Stunning view of Big Bay on Petenwell Lake. Our family of twelve thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and recommend to others. Spacious deck and living areas for all to relax. Hope to stay here again!

Labor Day Weekend

Very nice home with a great location. Enough space for all of us. My family totally enjoyed themselves. We made some memories here! A couple of minors dealt with the deck. It was large and was where we converged mainly, but we had to use some folding camp chairs and nothing for dining outside on the deck either. The picnic table was child size. The fire pit had ample seating and we enjoyed it. Keeping this location for future use.

Review

Despite not having everyone join us due to Covid, we did have a nice time, and may rebook in the future. Since recycling was required, we did so. However, it appeared the dumpster was only for garbage, so we ended up taking all recyclables home so we wouldn't jeopardize not getting our security deposit returned. Thank you.
