When it comes to Outer Banks vacation homes, you won't find a more unique beach house than Casa de Romance. A spacious 5-Bedroom, 4.5-Bathroom home located directly on the oceanfront in the picturesque town of Southern Shores, Casa de Romance offers everything you need for an unforgettable family vacation by the sea. Originally constructed in the 1950s and meticulously renovated in 2014, this charming Spanish-style home combines historical features from decades past with luxurious modern-day amenities. A private walkway offers easy and direct access from Casa de Romance to the sandy shoreline, where you can spend your day splashing in the surf, searching for seashells, or simply soaking up the sunshine.

Inside the gorgeous Living Area, enjoy cozy furniture and plenty of space to relax while you plan for the next day of Outer Banks adventures. Cook up a delicious meal in the colorful, well-lit Kitchen to enjoy in the Dining Area surrounded by windows and bright natural Outer Banks light. Get some rest in one of the multiple bedrooms nearby. Relax in the King Master Bedroom with a TV, Whirlpool Tub, and Laundry space, an additional King Master Bedroom, or near the kiddos in either the King Bedroom or the Bedroom with a Pyramid Bunk. Looking for a way to entertain the kids—and kids at heart—once the sun goes down and your daily beach time comes to a close? Look no further than the Recreation Room, which features a Full-Size Pool Table, Television, and Wet Bar that's perfect for whipping up those delicious late snacks and delicious beverages. Head outside for some fresh ocean air on the private deck situated right atop the sand dunes, or head upstairs to the home's upper-level back deck, where you'll be greeted with stunning, unobstructed views of the rolling waves and sandy beaches. As if having the ocean in your backyard isn't incredible enough, this vacation home also boasts a bubbly Hot Tub with views of the ocean as well as a large Private Swimming Pool* in a semi-enclosed spot. The place was spacious enough but it desperately needs a deep clean. There were ants everywhere. It was colder when we stayed and needed to turn the heat on, it is clear filters and vents haven’t been cleaned in years, as we all started becoming stuffed up. One of the comforters appeared to have blood on it. The carpets all have stains on them. The windows desperately need to cleaned.Had the house been cleaned properly before our arrival my rating would have been higher. I would also say there are a lot of broken items in the house: toaster, coffee pot, multiple chairs.This is a good place for large families that do not plan to spend a lot of time inside.

The house was very nice and spacious. The beach was amazing. We used the pool table and hot tub often. The grill was very clean with a new grill brush for me to use. I did have 1 problem. I paid 450 dollars for the pool to be heated and it wasn't. When I called to deal with this the representative told me the pool heater turns off when the outside temp goes below 60 degrees. The issue wasn't the heater after all. The pool heater simply wasn't plugged in for me. I got my money refunded easily because I wasnt informed of the pool heater policy. Just beware when having the pool heated there is something on the pool heater to turn it off when the outside temp drops below 60. For myself I was willing to pay that high amount to have the pool warm in the off weather. Other than the pool issue the house was very nice. It was a great location with Walmart and other stores close by. (Maybe a mile). I entered and left the property seemlessly. The rental company answered and returned calls very quickly. I would recommend this propery.

Great stay

House is right on the beach! The second floor is perfect for dolphin watching. Needs some updates but nothing that impacted our stay. Kitchen well stocked!

Nice location - not well kept

From my daughter: “Feedback for Casa de Romance, we were a bit underwhelmed by the place itself. I was surprised we all had to make our own beds, I have never had to do that before and with a 5 pm check in you would think that beds would at least be made for us. All in all the place seemed to be just poorly maintained and not super clean, we saw 2 large spiders and a large cockroach in the kids bedroom. We also didn’t have enough towels or toilet paper. It seemed like multiple light bulbs were out and there was the strange issue with our bedroom being freezing while the back room and the kids room were quite warm. It just felt like whoever owns the place had the attitude of “you’re at the beach, deal with it” more than “we hope you have a wonderful stay” if that makes sense… We are still so grateful for our time together and thankful a place could be found for us to stay in all together. But those would be our comments in regards to a review…” My wife felt the kitchen needed more … serving spoons - coffee cups - the ice machine didn’t work… Casa-de-Romance has great potential but needs invested up grade.

Terrible property

Please do not book this property. The cleanliness was nonexistent to say the least. Also safety is a huge concern. The fans were coated in dust along with the air conditioning unit being held up by moldy towels. The washing machine smelled of sewer when you did laundry. Two electrical boxes needed serious help. One of which wasn’t even attached to the building as it should be. The pool and hot tub had tons of sand in them from the previous renter. The fence surrounding the pool was broken. The faucet in the one bathroom fell off when the water was turned on because of how corroded it was. The gas grill was covered in grease/ old cooking remnants. The vent above the gas stove hadn’t been cleaned in forever. I’m pretty positive the comforters were never cleaned. The host was told of the situation and never bothered to do ANYTHING! I am more than disappointed in the lack of customer service and would never recommend Seaside Vacations for a host. This was the worst vacation rental I have ever had. I hope someone will remedy this rental as it is a disgrace.
