We had a great time with our family. The house was close to what we needed and drove often to Dollar General! The house is spacious and made it fun to play hide and seek. The kitchen and bathroom could have been a little cleaner but Iâm a bit of a clean freak. Overall we enjoyed our time.
Close to great beaches and restaurants. The backyard was wonderful, plenty of space to bbq, have a fire & play games with the family. It was also very easy to communicate with the property manager.
This is a wonderful VRBO rental. The house is lovely and very comfortable. It is close to shopping and multiple beaches. I highly recommend as a great rental.
The house was super, loads of kitchen utensils and plenty of room for the grandkids to play (so the grandparents had a little peace) The property is minutes away from a bunch of great places. Central beach being the closest beach. Definitely recommend Swingbellys and Bartletts Fish Camp to eat at. We LOVED our stay and the owner went out of their way to help us with advice! Would definitely recommend!!
Overall we enjoyed our stay. The size of the property and rooms was nice along with the fenced in backyard and deck. There was a lack of some things like no hand soap in the bathrooms or kitchen towels. The outside garbage was almost overflowing when we got there and there were some rooms like the kitchen and basement that could have been cleaned better. The refrigerator was pretty dirty and there were quite a few large dead bugs in the basement. I think if things were deep cleaned a little better it would have been great.
Had a great time at this cottage. Convenient location in between Michigan City and Chesterton. Plenty of space and large fenced in back yard. Right on W. Dunes Highway, so super easy to get anywhere. Kitchen was fully stocked to cook our own meals and 3 different areas for people to watch tv. Never felt like we were on top of each other, Had a great holiday weekend stay!
Very roomy and cute beach vibes house with a huge back deck and yard with a fire pit that we used on a couple occasions, they even had marshmallow skewers. We wanted to be close to the Dunes and we were an easy drive to get to both the IN Dunes State Park and National Park. All the beds were very comfortable with plenty of pillows, along with plenty of towels, toiletries and other essentials provided. My kids loved the hot chocolate packets (we had to buy the same brand when we got home) and the coffee they provided was tasty and plentiful. My only small knock on the listing is that it says there is a hot tub, but it is actually just the jacuzzi tub in one of the bathrooms. While my child did enjoy that bath, it was not the type of hot tub I expected when that was on the listing. So I think that's a bit misleading on the amenities list, but not big deal when we spent most of our time at the beach.
Perfect location if visiting IDNP. Longest drive was 20 min which took us to West Beach. House is big and yard is nice for dogs. We had little ones with us, and I appreciated the house had a highchair top and plastic plates and cups for kids!
Checkin was super easy and house was clean. Kitchen is pretty small but functional!
Like other reviews, house is on a main road which is noisy at times and there is a train that runs often. Inside the house you never really hear or notice it. Scott was a great host!
Overall we had a lovely stay. When dish towels were missing Scott brought some brand new ones the very next day. We cooked in a lot and the kitchen was fairly well stocked. We were a bit disappointed by the backyard, the grass was long and the grill was charcoal so we couldn't really use it, but the deck and chairs were lovely and we spent a lot of time outside. The house is nice and roomy with lots of space for hanging out and games. We also took advantage of the cornhole on the back deck. Plus it's very close to both the State and National Park. Good times!
Spacious, clean house in great location for the Dunes
Great location for the park beaches and trails. The house was clean and spacious. The large deck was perfect for warm weather outdoor dining, and the large fenced back yard was great for the dog. The kitchen was well supplied with cooking gear and pantry items. We had only 3 adults on our stay, so we never used the lower level with the large TV and sectional seating.
The only difficulty we had was with the thermostat control. The weather was transitional during our stay, from 40 degrees in the morning at the beginning, to a high of 80 the last day, so there was need to constantly adjust the thermostat. Three adults were unable to access the temperature adjustment on the "smart" thermostat, although repeatedly following the host's instructions. So it was necessary to message the host whenever we needed a temperature change (which he could do remotely), which we did less than we would have done had we been able to adjust it ourselves.
The other thing to be aware of is the traffic noise on the busy road. It was not an issue during our stay, as the cool weather meant that we spent our time at the house inside where the noise was not so evident. In season, with heavier traffic and spending time in the yard or on the deck, it could be bothersome.
Clean, spacious and everything we needed to work, worked. Location was primary as this was a "guys' golf get-away" and this was central to the three courses we picked out. Host was available and very responsive to messages posted in VRBO APP. Will consider this next time we are in Michigan City. For anything!
We greatly enjoyed the time we spent in this property. So much space! Very close to Michigan City and the dunes. The home is well furnished, as is the kitchen. There are ample towels and other bath necessities.
A surprisingly roomy home with a beautiful walkout deck, and a spacious finished basement. Close to Lake Michigan and the Dunes National Park. Great communication with the property manager. Simply put, you can't go wrong with this rental.
We had a lovely stay! The house was perfect for us and so comfortable! Just the back bedroom would get pretty warm, however it was 90 outside during our stay to be fair. There were plenty of fans provided to help. Everything was well stocked and the outlets even baby proofed, which was good when having a toddler with us. Itâs the little things, you can tell thought and care was put into this place!
We loved our time at here! The location is so close to the beaches, parks, restaurants and grocery - everything within 15 minutes. The house is well stocked and has everything you need. I loved that we had plates for the outside space and plenty of cooking utensils! There were also fans to help block some of the road noise. It is on a busy street but it wasnât noisy inside and we never had issue pulling out of the driveway. Highly recommend visiting!
We stayed for 2 weeks at Shifting Sands and loved it. We were minutes away from National Park beaches which we visited almost every day. We could go to Michigan City or Chesterton, about the same distance, for groceries and lots of meal options. The house is right on Route 12, a super scenic two lane highway.
The house is adorable, clean and quite spacious. I enjoyed the beachy decor. We had everything we needed in the kitchen. The beds were super comfy so we slept great. There were lots of very hot days and the indoor temperature was perfect. The backyard and deck were huge and my pets loved it. We spent lots of time hanging outdoors.
Scott was easy to communicate with and got back to me quickly when I needed it. He offers a lovely place to get away from it all.
Overall the stay was nice. The home was clean and decorated very cute. We enjoyed having plenty of space for the 7 of us! Only cons were the over abundance of air fresheners that became nauseating and the microwave could use an upgrade. Other than that great place!
We enjoyed going to the local beaches and riding the local bike trails. We ate at Zorn Brewery and Hollyâs family pub. Which were very busy due to the Holiday weekend. The place has alot of room and a large deck.
