Firstly let me say that we are gold members with Hotels.com and use them extensively. They have always been extremely professional and very helpful when you need them. We have also enjoyed the many advantages and benefits of their reward program.
On this occasion we booked this accommodation through Hotels.com but it was via their partners VRBO. There was also a fourth party involved (Novasol)who supplied the extra charge information after having payed the non refundable ballance. I find this quite disturbing and deafenatly not transparent. These extra charges payable on arrival in cash were âŹ6.00 per day electricity and âŹ10 per person for bed linen and towels.
As we travel extensively including for work, we have a fully laden vehicle which is why we always choose our stays with secure parking. On this occasion we were told on arrival that the parking gates were padlocked and the gated driveway was out of order to us becauuse they had no remote control! We parked on the street and the car was broken into on our 2nd night. We had removed the majority of our luggage but we did suffer a loss of ÂŁ500 of tools and a suitcase. We then spent several days trying to get the quaterlight glass on the drivers side of the vehicle replaced.
PROPERTY
It was supposed to be 2 bathrooms but one of them is in the laundry room outside the kitchen door so some guests may have a long walk down two stairways and through the kitchen to get to it. The photos are very misleading. Not clean!

After recommendation to many friends I am really disappointed in that there was no hot even warm water for the whole duration of our stay and with two young children that proved very difficult and although we paid for bed linen and towels there were two bath towels and maybe four hand towels for four adults and two children proved a challenge.will shop around for our next holiday Lorraine Brown
