We couldn't have been happier! The location was perfect for beach, restaurants, and shops. The apartment was bright and clean. We loved sitting on the balcony every evening and especially appreciated the comfortable furniture out there.

This apartment is so sweet! LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!! Just steps from a great pub, a wine shop and other stores! Only two blocks from the beach!! Not to mention a large balcony with comfortable furniture accessible from both the bedroom and the living room with views of the water and sunsets!! What more could you want? Oh wait: The interior is adorably decorated and the kitchen well equipped. The bed was comfortable, as was the living room furniture. The owner was very responsive and so accommodating!! We will definitely book again the next time we visit Cape Charles.

Great stay

This was the perfect property for our stay in Cape Charles. It was very close to the beach, and you can see the water from the balcony. It was also within easy walking distance from some great restaurants.

The location is perfect and the check in and check out process was seamless. The unit is very nice, but could definitely use some new carpets. We enjoyrd the porch and the view of the water. We would definitely stay again.

Beautiful Location

Long weekend for a mother/daughter trip. This is the 2nd time we have stayed here as the location and accommodations are great. We love the balcony views of Mason street and people watching.

Lovely place to stay

This was a great 1 bdrm apt that was close to the shops and the beach. It's was very cute very clean and I enjoyed my stay. Be aware there are a set of steep stairs to get into the apt, so if you have knee or ankle issues it may be hard to get into .

An isolated, 2nd floor apartment, nicely furnished, with a beautifully clear and unobstructed view of the harbor and bay. Located on Mason Ave between the center of town and the beach. It's very nice.

Great Location

This is our second trip to the Seahorse Retreat and we again were delighted. A prime location right in the heart of Cape Charles just steps to restaurant and shops and only a block to the beach. The balcony/deck is our favorite! We enjoyed many hours in the evening watching the sunset and loving the breezes. I also really like the artwork in the condo. Thanks for sharing a little piece of heaven with us again.

Little Piece of Heaven

This is our fourth return trip to Sea Horse Retreat and it never disappoints. Location is one of the best in Cape Charles in the heart of the town steps away from restaurants, beach and our favorite wine shop Gull Hummock. Condo is well stocked with everything we needed in Kitchen, and linens for bedroom and bathroom. The balcony is our favorite and we enjoyed every night sitting and looking at the Bay! We can’t wait for our next return trip.

Total peace at Seahorse retreat

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Simply awesome. The apartment was one of the prettiest we have ever stayed in! Clean, light and airy, beautifully decorated. Sipped coffee on the veranda with a book in the mornings, then a wine in the evenings while we watched happy vacationeers stroll the charming street below. One block walk and we were on the beach swimming or on the pier watching breathtaking sunsets. Bike and kayak rentals also only a block away, alongside a seafood restaurant with an outdoor bar overlooking the bay. It really was quite perfect.

Blue Heron sent me relevant communication in a timely manner, along with helpful recommendations on things to do in the area. The location was perfect for access to all the things we wanted to do in Cape Charles, including quick access to the beach. The rental property was clean and overall well maintained. Would recommend different ant baits for the kitchen, as there were lots of ants when anything was placed on the counter. I appreciated the extra sheets and beach towels provided, as well as the full kitchen. We loved our stay in Cape Charles and I would most definitely rent through Blue Heron again.

We found parking to be easy and the condo had all of the amenities needed (kitchen, dishes, silverware). It was a very short walk to the beach, which was great! I would say to anyone traveling with toddlers that the space was difficult to childproof (e.g., big glass lamps, large metal statues, furniture that could be pulled over easily), so just to be aware of that.

Great weekend getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Seahorse Retreat was the perfect location for a long weekend getaway. We had never been to Cape Charles before, and the condo was perfectly situated in the historic downtown...close to shops, amazing restaurants and cafes, and the beach. Everything is walkable here, and we had a great time strolling around Cape Charles and seeing all of the beautiful homes and the central park. The beach is les than a five minute walk and we went there every evening for the sunsets. The front deck was perfect for breakfasts (after hitting the Mason Ave Bake Shop) and lunch as we could enjoy the sun and the people watching.The only concern we had about the place was the carpet, which is very old. We would recommend replacing with a vinyl flooring product, as the carpet maintained those burrs from the beach plantings and had a faint musty smell when we closed up the windows. Otherwise, the condi was very well appointed, and we loved the bed and the recliner!

Reviewer Comments: This was a great spot for a weekend getaway We went mid-September so it wasn't crowded, parking was easy, and the shops and restaurants were still open. The condo is clean, comfortable, well stocked and just steps away from shops and restaurants. There is a concrete production plant directly across the bay but it didn't disturb our overall experience. We still enjoyed sitting on the deck to watch the sunsets and people out and about. We will visit again!
