Thank you for choosing Deer Trail Lodge! It was a pleasure to host your family, and I am happy that you enjoyed the home and had a wonderful time!

Hi John, we wanted to pass along the following feedback from the homeowners: "Thank you for your kind response, and it was a honor to host your family in our home. We also love the area as there is so much to do all year round. The fire pit, with the natural boulders and lovely trees, sits up high at the back of the property, enhancing the views. The solar lights have provided a camp like feel! While sitting at the fire pit last summer, we were amazed that the deer would just walk across the back yard as if we were invisible! Beech Mountain is truly a magical place!"

Thank you, Toni, for being such a wonderful guest! We do hope to host you and your family in the future! I’m glad you were able to find everything you needed at Deer Trail Lodge to make your week long stay comfortable.

It has been an absolute joy to not only host, but to appreciate the amazing experience that they had during an epic snow during the 2025 New Year weekend up on Beech Mountain! Guest shared their amazing pictures and videos! They were wonderful as guests!

We are delighted that you had such a wonderful time in the home, and welcome you to return. We believe you will find the extensive remodeling and redecorating that has taken place since your visit to be impressive.

Since your stay the home has undergone extensive remodeling and redecorating under new ownership, and they have take great care to provide regular maintenance as well. The gravel roads do provide excellent traction during the snowy season, and are common up on Beech Mountain where nearly half of homes are on gravel roads. We have been pleased that the town does provide regular grading and maintenance of these roads. The dust is limited by the frequent light rains on Beech Mountain with the exception of dry months. With the home sitting up high, the gravel dust has limited impact upon the home but we do provide covers for the deck furniture and grill.

Thank you so much for being an amazing guest! It was a pleasure to host you and your wife for the weekend.

Hi Ani, thank you for your feedback. This homeowner has asked us to pass along the following response: - Since your visit, the home has been remodeled under new ownership. - We are pleased to report that your concerns have been fully addressed in this significant remodeling endeavor. - We are listening to our guests, seeking to ensure that we provide a 5-star experience for each stay as we relaunch this home. Thanks for letting us know about your stay!

Since your stay, the home has underdone an extensive remodeling and redecorating under new ownership, with new appliances, decor, linens, furniture, paint, roof, and so much more. The home now has central A/C as well.

Jorge and his family were wonderful guests! We would welcome them back to the home anytime. I am so happy that they had a wonderful memory making holiday.

Beech Mountain has many gravel roads, and the limited traffic and frequent rains result in minimal dust. Since the home sits up high and back up off the road, any dust that might be briefly generated from an occassional passing car is limited in impact. Our goal is that all our Guests have a 5 star experience and as Hosts we endearvor to exceed the expectations of all our Guests and are delighted that this has thus far been the experience of other Guests who rated the home as a 5 star experience. During and before Guest's stay, Host personally provided immediate and frequent information/assistance. Host provided mid-stay cleaning at no cost and no fee was charged for her dog during her stay. Our housekeeping staff provided luggage assistance at Guest request. Host delivered to her a coffee grinder because the Keurig was not of her preference. The fireplaces are turned off in the summer when temperatures require use of the air conditioning at times because outside temperatures can approach 80 degrees, and this was unfortunately disappointing to Guest who expressed that she had hoped to use the fireplace regardless of the fact that the time of her stay was mid-summer. Overall, Host believes that much effort was put forth to please this Guest in every manner, and Host was surprised by this review, because Host was fully engaged during Guest stay in an attempt to make Guest happy.

It was a pleasure to host this lovely family!

Thank you, Patricia and friends, you ladies were way above being both thoughtful and considerate guests!

We are delighted that you had a wonderful time with friends. The fire pit has been a favorite of all our guests. We have tried to make the home both comfortable and appealing to guests, with a "cabin in the mountains" feel, and appreciate your kind comments and appreciate that you enjoyed these details.

Guest took wonderful care of the home, and we welcome his family back. The home is comfortable for up to 8 guests. The ski resort is very close as well as are local restaurants and Fred's mercantile.

You were a first rate guest and wonderful to host! Thank you for your kind comments.

Hi Davidson, this homeowner has asked us to pass along the following response: "It was a pleasure to host your family for the New Year's Holiday! While unseasonably warm at that time, Beech Mountain and the general area had so much to offer as a year-round location for travel. We're glad you enjoyed the cabin and found it very comfortable during your stay - we also have enjoyed the privacy of the area!"

Hi Amy, this homeowner has asked us to pass along the following response: "Thank you for letting us host your family during your weekend travels! Beech Mountain has so much to offer, with hiking for all ages, delicious meals at restaurants with lovely views, unparalleled fall leaf color, and the iconic Land of Oz in the late summer. We are excited about what the home offers to our guests, with mountain-style decor, front porch relaxing, and s'mores fun at the fire pit. Look out for deer and an occasional bear in the creek and crossing the back yard!"

Hi William, the homeowner would like to share the following: "Thank you so much for your kind review. I am so glad you enjoyed our home. Since purchasing the home in July, we have made many improvements in remodeling the home, such as new linens, bedding, furniture, addition of air conditioning, a new roof, new appliances, a barn door closet with built in TV, new lighting, and so much more. We have added local art and decor, a foosball table, and outdoor seating at the creek. We are so happy that all these new additions enhanced your stay. And I absolutely agree that our new cleaning service is doing a wonderful job in keeping the house sparking clean! For your large group of eight guests I am glad that you found the driveway more than adequate and very accessible. Come back and visit us again, and we will provide a discount code for a stay of four or more nights!
